Both trade targets are good but likely undervaluing them here.

Rebuild continues
Absolutely not. Konovalov is the Oilers best goalie prospect (not that he's set to be a star or anything certain), and having just passed on Wallstedt, management must believe pretty strongly in him, even though his draft pedigree is lower. Korpisalo was worse than Koskinen last season. Would rather just sit tight and ride out Koski as the backup for the season than do this.

I would like him as the 4C in EDM
And I'm just curious, what do you think is a fair trade for Parayko?
Because that trade here is just nuts, you can almost get Eichel for that package (I know STL still declines, because he's not avaiable).</div></div>
Yup Detroit plan on resigning Glendening, For Parayko probably 7 years $56 million i'd imagine.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GermanGretzky</b></div><div>Can't find the medical report. Do you have the source?
btw: I know a lot of Oilers Fans (probably I included) overvalue Kassian, but you certainly undervalue him. A proper trade would look something like Kassian for future considerations, or MAYBE the Oilers have to add a late-round pick at worst. There are teams in the league who apparently like what he can bring (The Blues are not one of that teams, because you have a few players like him, just better players), and thats why, as an Oilers fan, you could hope that he brings you back a pick or something.</div></div>
1- Not sure if you have the Athletic, but <a href="https://theathletic.com/2715841/2021/07/20/a-chip-on-his-shoulder-vladimir-tarasenkos-doctor-says-disgruntled-blues-star-is-healthy-and-motivated/" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">here ya go</a>.
2- He's a 30 yo still on a 3x3.2 who has only provided any value when a passenger with McD or Drai. Otherwise, he's basically useless. And no team that isn't swimming in free cap space will want anything to do with him. He has negative value like any other true cap dump.

what will it take for Manson
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zmach</b></div><div>I like how the team looks with that trade.</div></div>
Ya idk if retention happens. Maybe Ducks take Turris as he is only 500k in minors and evens out contracts?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>That's not good for the Ducks, trading two of their best trade chips for Bear isn't good asset management.
I think the Ducks should move both Rakell and Manson(and Lindholm and Gibson too!) but it should be for picks and prospects, Bear is young but I don't think he really fits with Anaheim's time line to be competitive again.</div></div>
I think the timing would work. He'll be 24 this season. So a 4 year re build gets you a very good top 4 D (perhaps top 2/3 in a best case scenario). D take longer to develop so if you get the forwards it should work out IMO

We are looking for Net front defence and shutdown capability bear is statistically better because he passes the puck to nurse and gets puck on net.

The way I see it.
Holland is in win-now mode. Due to his age and having peak McDavid and Draisaitl.
Due to development curves, Bourgault will be a helpful NHLer before Wallstedt

Available yes. Asking price is rumored to be a 2nd... top 6 talent? That's... something else. He could certainly become one, but he's got hands of stone. He gets 1000 breakaways and will only score tap ins from the edge of the crease

Del Zotto hits like crazy. I wouldn't mind that with Larsson's loss. And yes sadly...I agree this management is unlikely to trust the young line. I think it would be a good thing to try.

He is available and he wants a bigger role. Didn’t work out with the Canes tho. Imo he’s inconsistent and doesn’t have great hands or a great shot which makes him a really good third liner who can slot up to second line if you have injuries in the short term. But if you’re relying on him in the top 6 you’ll likely regret it. I guess if he plays with mcdavid he’ll put points up but that’s true of most guys I suppose.

I dont understand the timing of Keith trade... could have held out... tried free agency, if you swing and miss, then you circle back on Keith with more leverage and potential salary retention. $3 million over paid and a gamble he performs at 2LD.

You're insane if you would consider moving Holloway for DeBrusk. Debrusk has shown what he is. At best he is a middle 6 guy. Holloway has a way higher ceiling and is cheaper and team controlled for longer.

That Debrusk trade is ROUGH even with Kassian going the other way. A team doesn't get better by constantly trading its top prospects or picks for one-dimensional, mid-roster players like Debrusk. If we're moving Holloway, it had better be for a guaranteed top-6 forward with term.

Curious to see some movement
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vinnylou</b></div><div>He's gone dude. LoL he isn't good. If he needs 5 days rest in between games I'd rather pay him on another team than see him on ours. We need more consistent saves. He was absolute garbage. Good thing Holland does want to get younger in net. We can't waste no more time with him. 4 years of him ( trying to include him in next one ) is a drain on our team . 4 goals on 4 shots. That's worse than dubynk.</div></div>
He had one bad game last year… his bigger downfall was letting in an early goal fairly consistently which does suck but he typically played solid afterwards. His numbers from this past season aren’t anything to write home about but when you dig deeper into it he was pretty good. Started the season as the only goalie in town so was over worked and on top of that remember how poor the Defense was for the first couple weeks they were all garbage that reflects more on the goalie than them. Rested kosk is a good kosk very capable of splitting starting duties 50-50 in fact some might suggest myself included that a more even split would help prevent those first shot goals more because he’s more engaged in regular games rather than sitting for two weeks then see game action. Problem with retaining on him then bringing someone new that’s better is you have to put whatever retention on top of the new goalies salary so in this case your basically paying Anderson 8 million next year. extension talks with smith if he comes back and plays anywhere close to the level of last year you just doubled the budget for his back up attaching term to another goalie who isn’t exactly young. With that all being said goaltending decisions is the only real thing can’t agree on with the team you constructed I do like some of the other pick ups like Ryan could be a very underestimated help to the team. Hoffman wouldn’t be top choice but would be interested to see how it plays out.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vinnylou</b></div><div>Lol what the heck you talking about?! Who was 3rd in points on the Oilers this year?! What's the gap between 29/97 to 93. Lol. I'd take a bonafide Sniper who can just bury the biscuit who had one bad year. Good I want hungry players who want to rebound</div></div>
The Oilers problem offensively is that the 3rd and 4th lines are black holes. They already have the #1 PP without Laine. Trade/acquire guys in the bottom 6 who at least score as much as they give up. Our top bottom 6 scorer had 13 even strength points in a 56 game season. We have 2x 4th lines. All the teams that went deep had at least 3 lines that could produce. Laine just makes the team more top heavy and you've given up a ton of capital to do that.
