Edmonton Oilers signed Tyson Barrie (1 Year / $3,750,000 AAV)
Gets to be the #1 defenceman on the best powerplay in the league. After he gets his stats boosted he's gonna go in for a big raise the next year.
Good deal for both sides. That being said his defensive play is awful.

Total liability in his own end and fallen off a cliff offensively, maybe that's why? He isn't the same player he was in the Pens cup runs.

Woah there buddy, no need to get personal about this kind of stuff. But I can read analytics and production numbers too. Opinions are opinions man, no need to be so hostile.

Dougie was probably the Norris favourite before he got hurt, I would take that all day, and Trocheck is a pretty significant upgrade to what we have at 2C

Cup year your thoughts
Im not a fan of signing Holtby at all, especially not at that cap hit. You can get a better and cheaper goalie than that.
This is missing the expansion draft so its likely Graves would be gone in this scenario.
The NJD trade is fine, but im not a fan of the Leafs deal. Were giving up the best players in the deal in exchange for quantity.
I think Makar and Burakovsky will both get more money
20 players isnt enough to fill out a roster, and there isnt enough cap space to add more. At minimum youd probably need a 13th forward and 7th D man (22 man roster)

i mean a rebuilding team is always open to moving things as lets face it the devils wont be in the playoffs for a while. Dubas snagged muzzin from the kings and he was arguably one of there best dman
Plus this would significantly speed up there rebuild as they will have the 7oa pick, the 15oa pick, the 18oa pick, and the 20oa pick. Thats 4 picks in the 1st round they could have
1. Rossi or Raymond
2. Schneider or Quinn or Askarov
3. Zary or Barron
4. Lapierre or Ghule

Colorado Avalanche signed Logan O'Connor (2 Years / $725,000 AAV)
Good signing. AAV is lower than his QO but he gets extra security with the 2nd year, especially since it’s a guaranteed 750k regardless of if hes in the NHL or AHL. He’ll likely be the Avs 13th forward

makes zero sense for Minnesota to do this.
- worse player
- higher cap hit
- makes the positional gap even worse

When you pull out plus/minus and cite team success with him on a bottom pairing, then you really don't have much footing for your argument.
That wasn't a twitter rando. It was a former AHL coach. FYI.
I could also cite you the analytics too, but you don't seem like the type who will listen.

First trade is awful for COL. Flower isn’t the power or answer to back stop a team to the Cup. 2nd trade is massively in COL favor, Lindholm basically has zero value.

Maybe possible
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rurik766</b></div><div>I know that's it pricey but almost anything to get rid of JJ is worth it. I figure the pick could possibly go as low as a 4th, but since ZAR isn't the most desirable player, I went with the 2nd. It's more whether Detroit would consider it, than if the Pens would.</div></div>
Dude if we just send him down we save $1 million on the cap. Who the hell do we need to sign? Mccann is gonna sign for under $4 million, Simon is gonna sign for under $2 million, a team is going to take Bjugstad. And even if no one wants Bjugstad if we buy him out we save like $3 mil. We don't need to give up significant assets to trade Johnson. ZAR is one of the best defensive forwards in the league in terms of underlying numbers and you're giving them a 2nd round pick in a year where we're apparently going to suck according to everyone. You guys think Johnson is like the worst contract in the league and he isn't. He makes $3 million for the next three years. If you traded him with Murray to Detroit we'd get a 2nd back just like Washington did with Orpik
