Pretty easy no.
Take out Ullmark I’d still pass.
Seriously. Turcotte is a bust, AK is a problem child, and meh picks. Just junk.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>Is it ridiculous or is it just a numbers game? Bruins are already at a 23 man roster, so someone needs to go down. Only Lohrei & Beecher don't require waivers. Sweeney loves to carry as many d-men as possible so he's not going down. Beecher has been playing well, so no reason to send him down. You're only option is to waive someone like Lauko and hope he clears.</div></div>
I’m well aware. Also well aware no need for 8 D right now with everyone healthy.
Send Lohrei down. Recall Merk. Give him a handful of games getting regular shifts, find out if he can contribute. Better to find out now than have to find out in the playoffs due to injuries.
You have 2 of 13 FWDs not contributing at all and 8 D on the roster. Simple math.

Would like to see Merk on 3rd line rest of year. See what he could do with regular shifts.
If Qunny goes out this weekend Collin Graf would be nice too.

I like the creativity of a new idea as opposed to the same recycled moves. But i don’t see much chance of it.

Agreed, Merk sitting in minors is a bit ridiculous right now. JVR has been invisible and Lauko has been visible in a bad way.
Get him up and see what he can do with regular shifts on the 3rd, whether it’s at center or wing and find out if he’s an option.
If not maybe give Boqvist a bump up to 3rd LW at least.

Lauko, chance they’ll just have to waive him though, interest will be minimal.

Well it holds true. There is nothing there that i’d be interested in trading Ullmark for. It’s missing the primary piece. Everything there is just supplemental

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I struggle when we minimize a talented kid because he’s a bit older. I like how Johansson has played at the AHL level and think he has NHL talent. He’s in the same vane as Alec Regula to me. Probably deserved a chance and has developmental potential as a backup who could wind up playing a long time with the right chance.
Not nearly enough as a key piece in a deal. If you supplemented a number 1 with him, I’d be OK. We need a much better prospect if it is a number 2. Wallinder is the gettable prospect from Detroit I like the most. He’s behind other d men, but he has good tools to work with in the limited Grand Rapids games I’ve watched,</div></div>
Not his age, it’s his size and talent. He’s bottom of the D, spare part level type. He’s fine as the 3rd piece, but the not enough with him to move the needle.

My guess is if they are offering only a 2025 second, I’d want Wallinder or Mazur at a minimum</div></div>
Undersized, 6/7 ceiling, meh. Veleno would have a difficult time to crack the top 9. The 2nd is probably the most valuable piece because there is still hope that you could hit on it. The other pieces, not so much.

whats the approach
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I believe the PLD deal is more of a real possibility than other Bruins fans. I hope I’m wrong, but I can see the rationale for both teams. To me, it just depends on what LA offers to supplement the salary premium and whether Ullmark is willing to waive for an extension.
If I’m trading Swayman, I’m taking a swing on a high ceiling center. Pinto or Greig don’t fit that profile to me. I’d be looking at Dawson Mercer or Shane Wright.</div></div>
As long as it is a good YOUNG center that is not PLD….i’m good. Seattle does not need a goalie. I’ve said all along Sway for Mercer is good trade for both teams thst will piss both fan bases off. Lol. But NJ FO says he is off limits. 🤷🏻♂️

Ullmark
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>I still want to see what Ullmark’s list looks like with a real extension (not the crap mentioned in this AGM). If the new team offering him 4 or 5 years, 6M AAV with trade protection (higher AAV for less years) … I could see him prefer that than being traded to a team that will likely wait a year.
Zero interest in Norris, but Chychrun is of interest</div></div>
If you look at player surveys of least desirable locations to end up. Ottawa is in the bottom 5. It’s not really fair, pretty cool place. But locati9n, location, location combined with taxes, weather, entertainment options. It’s just not a place players want to be. Most players with at least 6 team NTC will have them on there. With half the league….
I don’t think the extension is anywhere near as important as the location is to Linus as you do. Not if you have listened to him at all.🤷🏻♂️

Nothing crazy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>There are plenty of options
If Hanifin is an option, great. His age and play probably make him an attractive option, but it sure looks like he’s targeting Tampa. Boston should have been able to beat that Las Vegas offer if he was their first choice or we were his?
If I have a choice between Stephenson and Lindholm, I’m choosing Lindholm even if I’m paying an extra 1 to 1.5M.
My hope is they keep about 4M in expiring contracts beyond Marchand, Geekie, and Frederic.</div></div>
But do for 2 to 2.5 less and 2 less years?
The most recent comparison for contract is Horvat who got 8.5 extension after trade. Very similar value player. Bo better goal scorer, Elias better defender.

Ullmark is not waiving for Ottawa.
But you know that.
Something that is never discussed but should be at least an option to consider…extending Ullmark and trading Swayman. They get a better return and no limitations as who they can trade with. 🤷🏻♂️. Just don’t 🤬 it up and trade him for PLD.
Both fan bases would hate it but a trade than involved Sway for Pinto or Greig with other pieces involved would not be the worst thing.

Nothing crazy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtics21</b></div><div>Lindholm has been a regular starter since 2018 (6 years). Not sure what his Carolina days have to do with anything
Lindholm has scored over 78 points twice (2018 and 2022). Was on pace for -70 points during the COVID shortened year. Been consistent in his PPG the other years where he was a Selke candidate
He’s played poorly this year offensively. No doubt that he’s handled the uncertainty of free agency poorly just like Jake DeBrusk if we are using points as the judge. My hope is that puts his salary in the 6.5 to 7 range, but my guess is teams will view it as a one year dip.
If you want to use one year as a judge, you wanna rip Pasta for the year before last when he was dealing with things outside of the ice? JT Miller? Brock Boeser? Before the year, he was the ideal hope he makes it to free agency guy.
Pretty comfortable that you put Lindholm between Pasta and Zacha that his production will be very good. People want him because his game is similar to Patrice though the criticism of his game sounds a lot like those lobbied towards Bergeron by other teams fans.
Like it or not, Sweeney tried to get him when he was with Calgary, revisited with Vancouver, and Elliot Friedman said they would revisit if he makes it to free agency. Sweeney seems to have a good idea of fit with his current staff.
Fully anticipate Lindholm will be Boston Bruins next year though I’d be open to Guentzel and keeping Zacha at center (even though he’s statistically a better wing from an advanced stats perspective).</div></div>
He played 58 games as rookie 2013. 81 games the following year 2014. He’s been a full-time regular starter since he entered the league. 🙄
He’s been in the league 11 years. He has had 2 excellent seasons. 2 very good ones.
While I value his defense an faceoff much more than other options if you can get Stephenson for 2m less and 5 years. Would you?
What about not going center at all? Adding Stamkos and Noak or Skjei?

Pretty realistic. Nitpicking but Shatty won’t be re-signed.
That’s a lot of $ and term for a center that is not going to hit 50 point mark. One that has only exceeded 60 points 3 times in 11 year career. They will do it, but they will regret it.
