Ny Rangers REAL
I like the idea of Foegele, but it probably costs a bit more even if they are trying to shed the cap. The tuch idea is nice but it would 100% include Kakko

What do you mean? Kane's 5.25 mil comes off the books and so does Milano's 2 mil, which you can replace with ELC Othmann. That's 6 million extra for bridge deals and then by the end of those you can shed a big vet contract or two. Plus the cap will start going up regularly again in a few years.

Eichel to NYR Kreider to Seattle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>Without one of Kakko/Lafreniere heading to Buffalo once again Eichel wont be a Ranger. And there's no freaking way Kreider is waiving for an expansion team.</div></div>
Lol, if you think that its going to take a lafreniere/byfield after all this then you're delusional. Kakko is a maybe but even that is stretching it. No player has EVER had the surgery that Eichel is going to get AND he just torched the sabres

Not enough from the Rangers. They give them Gorton's first born, Mark Messier's dna, a working cloning machine, and Madison Square Garden

If it cost anything more than kravtsov lundkvist strome and 2 firsts maybe add a player like Schneider but it wouldn’t be worth more than that</div></div>
I mean... I dont thin Eichel is that far off from Matthews. A lot of it is the environment. Look at O'Reilly. Dude wanted to quit hockey and live under a rock after 3 years in buffalo

I understand it's a lot but do you think the team is better without this trade? We desperately need that superstar franchise center to build around and they're almost impossible to find... if Eichel is available you have to jump imo

Stundog for TREY
So the Wild are gonna take on Ladd, who sucks and has a M-NTC , at 5.5 million for 3 more years PLUS give up a decent player in parise while retaining 3 million on him for 5 more years? Why would they ever do that in a flat cap world?

Matthews is great but the Rangers aren't close to being able to afford this. Idk about the value... all I can say is that I'd much rather keep the 2nd overall pick and 1st overall pick who are cost controlled for another 2/3 years

Yeah, maybe the Rangers would keep those picks from the winnipeg trade and use them instead for a Lindholm one. They need a top lefty D

Can't you go over on bonuses for the year? Staal and Lundqvist come off the cap after next season, and the Rangers will have about 5 million less to pay in buyout penalties after next year too

Trying Rangers
I like the idea of an offersheet like this but after getting the second overall last year and the first this year, I'll just say this... I'd be crossing my fingers hard that the team is making the playoffs because if they don't and somehow won the lottery again only to have to give that pick up.. stuff of nightmares

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sagecoll</b></div><div>Works out in both teams' favor.
-Blues is able to get more compensation than they would if there was an offersheet (that they couldn't match anyway)
-Rangers get a bit lower AAV for longer term.
If you rather offer that contract in the form of an offersheet, that's fine too. I think it might be just under the threshold.</div></div>
Well I'd like the trade for sure if it happened
