Lol stop making these NYR trades already. Trouba isn’t a buy-out candidate and the rangers offense is fine after hanging 7 goals on the #1 defense

I guess Wheeler can be given a shot....just don't see him with anywhere near the speed he'll need to play with the required pace, and get back on D (as required of centers). Sure Brodz played 4th line...but given the circumstances, I think he'd be the best fit at 3C- to bring speed and tenacity there which (hopefully) gives Cuylle a chance to produce, and gets Kakko going.
As for Gourde...definitely the type style player worth targeting- if Seattle is willing to trade on a reasonable deal. The problem is the elevated cost due to the retention and/or inclusion of Goodrow in a deal like this. At least he is signed beyond this year. Rentals are the guys I'd look to stay away from. Type of player I would most like to target would be Morgan Frost. Because retention wouldn't be an issue, the cost to acquire might be in same range-maybe even cheaper. Yet for the assets expended, NYR would have another player they could build longer term on.

Exactly . Edmonton will want players like this but no team will player like this will want to move Hughes/Stutzle ++++++ to pay McDavid double what their star makes

With Stamkos
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>He’s my favorite player and I love the dude, but I don’t see a way to extend him at a reasonable number and improve the overall depth of this team. As far as I’m concerned, need to move on from Stamkos and Hedman and start loading up to take another swing with everyone else. Stammer and Heddy aren’t getting younger and running it back isn’t going to accomplish much. In my mind, we need another top 4 d man and 1 or 2 middle six forwards, which is not gonna be easy to fix. Still hoping Agnefelt takes the backup role.</div></div>
As long as they don't give Stamkos a long term deal,.7 million is fine for 3,.maybe 4 years. Tampa will have e approximately 12.3 million to sign Stamkos+5 additional players to reach a 22 player roster. With the way ABB snd to some degree, Merela have played, Tampa may look to extend both for relatively cheap. In any case, with Stamkos around 7, they could spend around 2 on a better 3LD and then spend near min on a 7D, 2 4th line F and a 13th F. It's very doubtful they're going to find 2 F in the ~3.5 range in ufa that together outproduve what Stamkos brings. If Sheary continues to suck, maybe they figure out a way to get rid of his contract after the year and use that 2 million towards another F,we'll see.
Hedman is going nowhere imo, at least not until after next season. He's dropped back a step, but he's still a very good dman. Tampa won't be able to easily replace him this year or next.
The way Johannson has played has been very encouraging. While it's been a small sample size, he's looked very capable and he's with the team for 2 seasons. Maybe by then Alnefelt is finally ready(provided he's still with the organization), but JJ looks to be the backup to Vasy for the foreseeable future with this level of play.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dk325</b></div><div>This site is getting crazy today. Dunno how so many people are thinking the Jackets would consider Jiricek, Kj, and their 2024 1st. What's worse is that there are some CBJ fans thinking it would be a good trade.
If Pettersson is getting traded it's because he has told Vancouver he isn't re-signing and that means their hand is being forced. The return is not going to be the dream scenario Canucks fans want it to be in that case.</div></div>
I'd be wiling to move KJ in a deal for Pettersson 100%, but not Jiricek. Top two prospect at his position in the league, the most in demand position after 1C? Not moving that for a luxury good that will cost 13+ million a year. Fantilli and Jiricek are off the table, but nothing else should be if Pettersson is willing to re-sign.

ok but we still have 3 mil in cap at tdl....we could afford to wait to buyout goodrow in the offseason and just keep probably our #1 prospect in othmann....if that's what it's gonna take to dump goodrow

NYR would rather buyout Goodrow and gain some cap credit from it, rather then sending our most enticing prospect to a division rival

10 most impressively built teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>I’d add the Rangers of the 2010’s to this (obviously not the 2020’s version). San Jose is another team that was similar in that regard.</div></div>
Yeah, it's so easy to forget about that team because of how quick their rebuild seemed. Miss watching that Lundqvist era.
