These are bad dude. Minnesota and Seattle can’t say no quick enough. Brodin and Gourde are fantastic and worth a lot more than these deals above.

Building up for Playoffs
I can only see Kakko a 1st and 2nd getting Gourde with $2.5 mil retention. No shot they add Wright to the deal. Plus from their perspective it’s Gourde at 60% for 2 years not one so not really a rental. He would be the perfect 3C though cause Chytil has too many injury concerns.

Marner and Willie Go
Our d core isn’t deep enough to trade Miller and not get a replacement d man of similar caliber. Not easy to replace 20+ minutes a night on the 2nd d pair.

Marner is great, but I genuinely think this makes us worse. Especially defensively. Plus swapping Lad for Marner is a big upgrade but we’d still need 1-2 more RW’s. Not the move we need to make up.

Marner Tavares and Nylander all walk for nothing
We happily sign Igor for that. Especially with a $92.5 mil cap. Like I think $9.5 mil is a guarantee he stays in NY. Only chance is if he wants $11-13 mil and forces our hand, but otherwise he’s a Ranger.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>I guess Wheeler can be given a shot....just don't see him with anywhere near the speed he'll need to play with the required pace, and get back on D (as required of centers). Sure Brodz played 4th line...but given the circumstances, I think he'd be the best fit at 3C- to bring speed and tenacity there which (hopefully) gives Cuylle a chance to produce, and gets Kakko going.
As for Gourde...definitely the type style player worth targeting- if Seattle is willing to trade on a reasonable deal. The problem is the elevated cost due to the retention and/or inclusion of Goodrow in a deal like this. At least he is signed beyond this year. Rentals are the guys I'd look to stay away from. Type of player I would most like to target would be Morgan Frost. Because retention wouldn't be an issue, the cost to acquire might be in same range-maybe even cheaper. Yet for the assets expended, NYR would have another player they could build longer term on.</div></div>
Yeah Frost would be another solid option to consider. In an ideal world Chytil gets and stays healthy, but if not then we should definitely consider exploring our options.

Hypothetical just looking for trade value opinions
That d core would be ridiculous, but center becomes a serious liability. Especially with Chytil’s injury (if there are long term consequences), I’d be weary of a move like this.

I’d try Brodz there….if he offers nothing (and Chytil not close) then a trade is needed</div></div>
If he’s not close they need to put him on LTIR and look and finding a 3C for the rest of the year, thinking someone like Gourde from Seattle (just an example of the type of player I’d want based on his play style).

I think McDavid and Draisatl are Oilers for life unless they ask out or leave on their own when they hit UFA status. Either way the prices above are way too high.

A team would be insane to pay that. Better off waiting till he hits the UFA market and keep those pieces to build a super team than give it up for him now and watch him walk in 2 years.

Mcdavid
Is it just me cause I feel like this trade makes the Rangers considerably worse. We are losing a top 4 d man that isn’t being replaced (Jones is not that guy) and playoffs are won by defenses in my opinion. McDavid can’t make up for that.

Have fun shipping him somewhere that he wants to go that can take the full cap hit then.

I think we keep Panarin and Schneider pretty easily. We’ve already got plenty of money tied up with our top 4. Another $8 mil doesn’t seem wise when Lindgren and Miller need to be resigned over the next 2 years.

With Stamkos
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JTBF81</b></div><div>As long as they don't give Stamkos a long term deal,.7 million is fine for 3,.maybe 4 years. Tampa will have e approximately 12.3 million to sign Stamkos+5 additional players to reach a 22 player roster. With the way ABB snd to some degree, Merela have played, Tampa may look to extend both for relatively cheap. In any case, with Stamkos around 7, they could spend around 2 on a better 3LD and then spend near min on a 7D, 2 4th line F and a 13th F. It's very doubtful they're going to find 2 F in the ~3.5 range in ufa that together outproduve what Stamkos brings. If Sheary continues to suck, maybe they figure out a way to get rid of his contract after the year and use that 2 million towards another F,we'll see.
Hedman is going nowhere imo, at least not until after next season. He's dropped back a step, but he's still a very good dman. Tampa won't be able to easily replace him this year or next.
The way Johannson has played has been very encouraging. While it's been a small sample size, he's looked very capable and he's with the team for 2 seasons. Maybe by then Alnefelt is finally ready(provided he's still with the organization), but JJ looks to be the backup to Vasy for the foreseeable future with this level of play.</div></div>
Your right about that. It’s not going to be an easy task, but I’m hopeful they’ll come back with a vengeance. It’s good that Point, Cirelli, Sergachev and Cernak are still 28 and under. That’ll be huge long term for us.
