No Snuggerud
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GM69</b></div><div>Is Snuggerud pulling an Adam Fox-- does he just not want to play for St Louis? Don't know too much abt the situation but it's not that often a top prospect goes back for his Junior year. Could also be a threat similar to Cooley.</div></div>
Snuggy just wants to compete for a NCAA title again next year when Minnesota is expected to have a stronger roster. He said he’s committed to STL when he turns pro so there should be no worries!

Playoffs part 1
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AC14</b></div><div>I think Tucker/Alexandrov are more in the waive or make it category vs the having value for someone</div></div>
May be true; but both are young players that PIT desperately needs. Would be fine adding a 2024 3rd to this deal and switching Tucker to Buchinger to get the deal done.

Okay
I like this team a lot and think they’re well improved from last year. Better defense and speed in the bottom 6, and Zadina fits nicely on that line. Even if he doesn’t find a finishing touch, his defensive play will pair well with Cirelli. Great transition player as well, so just needs to get the puck into the offensive zone and get it to Stammer.

Ehlers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>Ehlers is one of my favorite players in the league. He rocks.
I have to wonder if it makes sense to spend significant assets (a pick and one of our top prospects) on a guy already in his mid-to-late-twenties whose contract expires in two years while doing pretty much nothing else to address the deficiencies on the blue line. I don't really have a lot of faith in the end-of-the-season-Blues + Ehlers to be able to get back in the playoffs and if you're not doing that then I'm reluctant to buy a winger in his prime. Even if, as I said he's great.</div></div>
I agree, I have to wonder how a new defensive system will impact the current personnel on the backend. They had some flaws in 21-22, but it was nothing compared to 22-23. This implies there will be some bounce back there, but that top 9 is absolutely deadly. Ehlers is a phenomenal play driver and helps this team transition to quick strike offense.

If we manage to obtain 2 other 2023 1sts by trading ROR and VT, I would love to take Reinbacher with one of the later 2 picks and an impact forward with the highest ranked pick.

Keith and varly both decline the EDM deal but its a very interesting concept.
Isles shouldnt touch that TOR deal.</div></div>
Why would the Isles not be interested in the TOR deal? They shed the Pageau contract to have more cap flexibility sooner due to the Muzzin and Mrazek deals only having 2 years left and get a 1st round pick... Muzzin helps solidify that 2nd pairing with Dobson as well, and they could always retain 50% on Muzzin next year and flip him to a contender looking for veteran LD depending on how the team does in 22-23 and what the outlook is for 23-24.

I agree, however, if they didn’t want to move Schneider in an Eichel deal, I don’t think they even consider it for Tarasenko. Would most definitely have to take Kravtsov out of the deal in that case.

I was debating whether to sign Bozak and Suter over Granlund, which is fantastic, but decided to go for the old minny connection of Nino/Granlund. I Still think Granlund can be a 50+ point player if utilized correctly

Dealing Signing Lande
I like these forward combos, but would sacrifice Hoffman for a lesser 3rd liner to sign a 2nd pairing Dman.
For the draft I would go:
Svechkov
Robertson
Othman/Lambos
Robertsson’s shot is too good to pass up especially when you have 3 1st rounders.

This team won’t be able compete in the west. That is a really poor return from EDM. Kassian is not needed. That $11m in space should be used to sign 2 top 6 forwards unless you think they should aim for a top 15 pick in 2022.

Danault + Sundqvist would be a fantastic shutdown line, ROR is great at it as well but we can’t force our #1 center to go up against other teams top lines night in and night out and squander that first lines offensive impact. They were non existent in the playoffs, and the Mack line still scored.

I think you are underestimating the PK ability that Goodrow brings as well as his fantastic 5v5 play. Tatar is going to be cheaper than Schwartz with similar offensive upside. Danault is worth 5-6m. Who wouldn’t want a shutdown center that can hamper any star line’s ability to score.? It’s worth it if you can let that Meier - ROR - Perron line tear up other teams 2-3rd lines.

He’s from the Detroit metro area so he could be interested in waiving for there if he thinks their future is bright. Calgary is also going to need an offensive dman when Gio is taken by Seattle so they could be interested as well.

Big changes are coming
If Doug managed to pull off Dunn + 16th for 4th and drafted Johnson or Guenther.. I would be so happy. Dunn is a top 4 defenseman now, any D-man they take at 4th is going to take 2-3 years to make an impact that Dunn can make right now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>West_Virginia_Take_Me_Home</b></div><div>Not a fan of Danault with that contract. And not sure why we are paying assets to get Gourde and letting Schwartz walk</div></div>
Because Gourde is the better player. He’s a 25 goal / 50 point that is EXCELLENT on the PK and fits a Berube style much more than Schwartz.. I like Danault at 5.5 x 7 better, but he will have a lot of suitors. Paying 6m to shut down a teams top line in the playoffs is worth it 100%.

2021 OEL
I think OEL really stabilizes the defense and helps the team transition game (if he bounces back in a new system), but this team is still dependent on Tarasenko being effective and the rest of the team being .. better than this year.

The Panty Wadder
I feel like if we aren’t doing any big changes to the defense (Hamilton), Oleksiak is a must add. He’s huge and can skate like the wind. He would fit in perfectly, and I really like that D-Core even if Dunn is traded. That is a really solid top 4.
Offensively, Perron is basically a full on RW at this point. We need a legit top 6 LW for he and and ROR. If Thomas is ready to be 2c you can slide Schenn over to LW to fill the other top 6 LW vacancy and then sign a 3c (Haula, Getzlaf, etc). My personal Favorite targets for a trade are Gourde and Palat, and FA is Coleman. All 3 fit the blues mold perfectly and would be fantastic additions. Maybe Landeskog as well if he is unable to fit into Colorado’s long term cap plan.

Left wing is our biggest need, so unless we trade for Kuzy to play C so we can move Schenn to LW (even though he plays better as a C), I don’t see it happening. Would love to see Kuzy / Vladi on a line together though.
