Stars 22-23 If Rumors are true and we dont sign Klinger
I think the habs accept this deal. They may look at making that 2nd a conditional 1st if the stars win a round in the playoffs for example. As was mentioned above, the Habs are also after Bourque so either him or Stranges will be coming the other way.

Must be a decent Arm chair GM if the only thing people are pointing out are the line combinations. Thanks for your input everyone!

Realistic Off Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheRealisticGuy</b></div><div>What is Pezzetta doing in your line up ? He's no NHLer</div></div>
I really like Pezz, brings a lot of energy to the lineup and the team seems to like him. I think it is important to understand what he can be for the habs before moving on from him. Give him this off season then next year to allow him to prove he can play a bottom 6 role. We aren't contending next year so I think we should see what he can do.

Looking at stats sheets is not scouting.
I don’t know what the right answer is, but my gut leans towards thinking we’re taking Slaf.
Consensus opinion does not equal correct opinion.
There is a non-zero chance that Wright is overrated. Pretty sure we know what we’re gonna get from Slaf. A beast of a man who can score, skates well, and looks to me to be in the Svechnikov mold. And without the douchey personality of Brady Tkatchuk.</div></div>
I do agree, I have only watched some videos on youtube and looked at the stats sheet. I will support any player they draft because it would be unfair not to. However, Slaf is not an explosive skater, he can score but he cannot score from far out. I'm not saying he won't be a great NHL player but Hughes has said they will take best player available and to me that is Wright. If we were picking 2nd or 3rd they I would love to have slaf. I find it tough to pass on a guy that could complete a solid 1-2 punch up the middle for the next 10 years or so.

Slafkovsky
I will be so upset if the habs pass on wright and take slaf. Every team in recent memory that has won a cup has 2 solid centers and wright could provide the habs with a great two-way game. Slaf struggled to put up points in Liiga, yes he had a great WC but did nothing against the better countries. Wright put up 90+ points (in a weaker league) but has also been the expected number one pick in this draft for the past 2-3 years. Again, this is just my opinion but i'm happy to discuss if anyone wants to.

The habs will not trade anderson for a struggle young player, a replacement d, a late 2nd and a late 3rd. If the sens really want Anderson, it starts with one of the teams top prospects in the system

Comparing the Dadonov trade to a potential Anderson isn't how this should be looked at. If Anderson is traded then the habs will receive at least a first round pick or a A prospect. Hughes has shown that in his short time he will only trade someone if he gets what he wants.
Also, the habs have roughly 2 million in space with Price on the roster, the only cap dump they would have to do would be Hoffman. They are also likely trading Petry but that will not be a cap dump.

I think you'd be surprised how high he is viewed around the league. You will disagree but he isnt moved unless the habs get an offer they can't refuse... 1st round pick and a b level prospect.
Habs have no use for Barrie, easy decline from them IMO

Yes the Sabres have cap space (and they need to use some of it to get to the floor), and yes they need a goalie. Mrazek isn't the answer. He's awful, nobody wants a bad goalie, and the Sabres don't need to be doing favors like that unless they are adequately compensated. Which means something would have to be coming with mrazek that would hurt.</div></div>
That's fair. I guess I was going off thinking Mrazek could return to the goalie he was a couple years ago. What would be fair compensation in your mind or no chance the sabres are interested?

You have Rielly, Muzzin, Gio, Brodie, and Holl who played over him last year. I'm just saying I think it would be better off improving the top 9 then having him on the 3rd pair/ sitting some games

You can for sure switch the value around but I'm just throwing out the idea of trading a guy you really aren't going to use a ton this year to improve on another area.

-Cambell's signing is at least $1.5M too low and Kase's is about $1M too high - Kase is just too fragile of a player to invest much into. I think it's just as likely he gets non-tendered this summer and Toronto signs a bottom 6 guy around $1M to play RW3.
-The goalie depth worries me but there's not a ton out there - I would still try and roll the dice on a veteran with somewhat of a track record before rolling with Kallgren as my backup.</div></div>
Yeah thats fair, I guess I saw Kase putting up 30 points last year and figured he'd be great on the 3rd line. I'm kinda thinking that Campbell takes a hometown discount but who knows.
I agree on the backup, would be nice for them to add a veteran guy on the minimum.

Like I said in the post. I think Pearson (or another guy who can slide up and down in the lineup) makes the leafs better than having sandin play bottom pair minutes or sit some games. I look at it as a trade that helps them win now by making their forward depth better.

Value of Petry
I've always thought Petry is worth a late 1st or an equal prospect. People on here have often thought that I am over valuing him but Hughes will not trade Petry unless he gets value in return. I know I'm bias but his play really turned around once MSL was hired and showed that he is still a very good top 4 d man in the league. I can see the habs moving him after his bonus for this year is paid.
I can also see a young roster player and a late pick.

Again, I suggest you read some comments cause at no point do I suggest the habs only take a top 15 pick. It was largely discussed above :)

I believe I saw Darren Dreger tweet about it but I could be wrong. I agree his contact will hurt the return but Hughes has said he won't move him unless it makes sense. I think in this case a late first does it.
