BOW FOR FREDDY GAUTHIER FOR HAVING A 675K CAP HIT
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hackadart</b></div><div>I suppose I’ve been looking for something extra because I thought he had a more offensive style than he has ended up having so far with the organization, but as jamiepo said no news is good news, and I suppose I couldn’t complain if he ends up playing like muzzin playing a solid defensive game while quietly putting up good numbers</div></div>
And that's what he's looked like to me. Just a steady player who defends really well. And with the way he can skate and handle the puck he'll be able to stay out of danger a lot.

From what i caught with emerging on Sandin they are "taming" him into shutdown D, so as Jamiepo said, the less you hear the better....

That’s exactly what he was. No news is good news for a defender.

Simple
Great Post which makes total sense.
Marner the Magician is a franchise player for the Leafs and his deal is going to get done like the rest of the RFA's on other teams who also have not signed yet. Leaf fans and Marner himself are going to be very happy when his deal is done as he is going to be the face of the franchise for the long-term (ie Greater than 5 Years). Marner is also going to make alot of money from endorsements in Toronto as the corporate community also want to sign the Magician to endorsement deals once he signs his contract with the Leafs.

Im sure about this
Yup it was really nice to see a good hockey trade involving the leafs to stick it to some of the haters and trolls on this site. RHD are not some mythical creature you cannot trade for without giving up Marner/Matthews/Nylander, plus they got Kerfoot too. It shows what a valuable asset Kadri was, which Is what myself and multiple leaf fans have been implying. His term and security look really good right now with players like Hayes signing for 7+ million.
Some things that I have seen lately such as "Dumba will cost Marner or Matthews" - They just got a better player in Barrie for Kadri, lol - or " Kadri for Gudas and a pick" - can finally be validated as ridiculous

Pretty fair value for Miller, but may necessitate a trade in the next year or two. Keep juggling, Stevie!

For what Kapanen projects to be, and for CAR's overabundance of RD, I think Kapanen and a 4th for Pesce is probably good enough.
If you get marginal savings on Larsson to Pesce, more retained on Carter, and a slight pay reduction to Johnsson means you could afford someone like McElhinney for a 2 year 1.3-1.5M deal

EDIT nvm he doesn’t have a bonus</div></div>
it also depends on the age the player is when he signs the contract. since marleau falls under the 35+ category, it's the full cap hit. Blame Wade Redden and Kovalchuck who destroyed the previous CBA

Not bad! I think LAK would need to retain more than 1M on that Carter-Marleau trade, considering you're paying for a guy for 3 years who might end up being 4th line talent.
I would push for Brett Pesce instead of Adam Larsson, personally. Solid two-way defenseman that costs marginally less than Larsson for a longer amount of time, and Pesce is younger and heavier.
I'm not sure that if Kadri is being played on the wing that Hyman still sees top 6 minutes, but the lines look okay. I'd personally put Petan as the 4C and resign Ennis to play 3rd or 4th line minutes, I like him with Moore.
I'm not sure that Sandin and Liljegren and Bracco are ready for the big league, but of course they're gonna get a look.
The biggest ish for me is Sparks as a backup goalie tbh. When he's in net, you really can lose to anyone.
Oh! The Canucks seem to be the front runner in the Nikita Zaitsev sweepstakes. Probably would get somewhere between a low 3rd or a few picks back for him. Maybe we could get Troy Stecher if we throw in a little somethin somethin

Blind philly fan? Lmao Shaw would make the third line LOOOOOOOOOOOOL, and lose big names? I'm curious as to who these are? If it's dumb not to take it, why would MTL do it? Foh scrub, Ghost ain't going to MTL for that trash return

If Hayes doesn't sign, I doubt Philly's counter is to acquire a guy who's only been healthy 4/8 years of his career and a high of 47 points on the wing. Ghost will take a lot more to acquire, plus he has a healthy cap hit.

As painful as it is seeing this rumour as a Flyers fan, I believe a B-level prospect and a pick going back to PHI was also involved. If I'm Fletcher, I do NOT do this

Agreed...EDM and TOR are tough trading partners. BOTH need (or at least really want) to shed cap. I'm not sure either team truly wants to do this trade.

I thought so, I think that’s part of the problem, when it came to the playoffs, they had a few guys replaced the injured guys down the stretch. The injured guys came back and pushed those guys to the press box, and the team lost there way, I just find beaulieu a cheaper younger kulikov, kinda a place holder for youth coming off the farm
