a cap team - if it can exist
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>zizougaffar</b></div><div>Formenton Pinto and Joseph would make a great 3rd line with their speed, defence and if they can figure it out, their scoring. The issue with the team is now defense</div></div>
And in my lineup I addressed exactly that last line: the defense. A defensively responsible checking line that can hold leads, and two defenders that can actually round off a top-4. It shouldn't be scary to have good players with diverse skillsets.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>No but next season you gotta re-sign Stutzle, Debrincat, Zub , Pinto. Can’t sign more than depth players and cheap Dman for a 1 year. But we already have a lot of roster players</div></div>
Pump the brakes on Pinto. I'm sure he's lovely but this is his GP stat line: NHL Totals 17 1 7 8 12
On the team above, there's $30m to fill about 11 spots, most of which are at the bottom of the lineup minus those two guys up front. Big numbers aren't scary. Hamonic is gone, Holden is gone, a couple more million in dead money is gone. This is the reality of playing up against the cap. It's all doable, it's just not dumbly obvious how to pay guys.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>No thanks to all those signings . The forwards are set. No need for a LD. And I’d only sign Klingberg if it was max 2 years</div></div>
Interesting choice. Bad players who I like and am happy to let me down over good players who can actually play defense. Scared of spending money?

fixing the oilers at least to start
Until Koskinen is gone there's not much money to fix it. Grubauer will be hard to get in this market and there aren't any other suitors unless you want Rittich. Their biggest need is finding competent second and third liners. This does that.
RNH doesn't want to stay and it would be good for them to just move on. Danault is a genuine shutdown centre who can go against top lines, Wennberg is a scoring middle-six centre. Dzingel and Coleman bring middle-six scoring and energy. Danault is a better player than RNH and he would cost less because he didn't get points in MTL.
