Chevys off Season
I’d bet Lou finds a way to get Ladd to Robidas Island this summer, but if not, this wouldn’t be the worst thing. Dobson replaces Pulock, Wilde becomes the heir to the 2nd pairing slot, Zajac leaves but is replaced by an upgrade in Copp. I don’t LIKE it, but I at least see what you’re getting at.
I will say Samberg is too similar to an LHD prospect we have in Bolduc. I’d add either another RHD prospect or a prospect at Forward.

What I would do
Assuming Lou isn’t already finding a way to sneak Ladd onto Robidas Island, Isles do this trade in a heartbeat.

Question about Bellows
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marcsnack</b></div><div>Those 13 games arent games he needs to play to be exposed. He will be exposed regardless if he plays those games or not.
Essentially, each team needs to expose 2 forwards and 1 dman that have played either 27 games this season or 54 games combined between this year and last AND be signed past this season.
Each team needs to respect those requirements to give Seattle a fair shot of drafting NHL players. Bellows completing those 13 games will not affect his eligibility in the expansion draft. He will be exposed regardless. A lot of people dont know this rule, so I dont blame you for not knowing haha. I hope I explained this clearly.</div></div>
Thank you, people keep saying “NYI will expose Bellows”, but gloss over the game requirement. Is the idea that the game requirement just whether or not a team is obligated to expose the player, and that the team can choose to expose the player even if they fall short of the game requirement?
Still, I’d think exposing, say, Bailey, Clutterbuck and Leddy gives the Kraken plenty to work with, right? That’s three NHL players with more than enough games right there. I guess I’m just confused on why the Isles expose Bellows if they’re not required to.

That’s what I’ve seen, but EVERYONE says Seattle will draft him. Like I said, I think there’s something I’m missing, but I just want to be clear.

Big Fast Wing for Barzal if Trotz doesnt trust Wahlstrom
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>I don't think scratching wahltrom had anything to do with an injury - trotz just didn't want to say he was scratching him for a 4th line plug.
I really don't like zajac on barzal's wing. He's old , slow and can't really keep up with barzal. Beau or Palmieri are much better options</div></div>
Zajac’s been scoring well this season and Trotz’ scheme relies on having a 1st line power forward. He’s better than Komarov by a mile and for now, I’ll take it. Like I said, I’d prefer Wahl-Barzy-Ebs, but at least it’s not Leo-Barzy-Ebs. It also means having a stacked as hell middle 6. Maybe Trotz’ plan for the playoffs is to just burn opposing teams’ bottom 6s with our middle 6? I dunno.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>It shouldn’t even be a debate. Are we sitting barzal next? We’re at the point where you only confidently say Nelson, barzal, and eberle are better than wahlstrom. That’s it. Taking him out of the lineup at any point going forward is a fireable offense.
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">I've said all along that if the kid's hurt or not 100%, let him rest and get him back in when he's fully healthy. </div></div>
See, I agree with all that, I’m just saying we can’t risk injuring Wahlstrom so close to the playoffs. This team’s offense is completely flat without him, and I don’t see us winning the Cup without him.
Personally, I want to see a few games of him on the top line with Barzal. Let’s find out now before the playoffs if he can be that star winger for Barzy. But for now, I’m happy that they put Zajac in Komarov’s LW1 spot and Wahlstrom back on the 3rd line where he’s productive.

My understanding was that Wahlstrom was banged up and after the trade, Trotz figured he had the depth to sit him a few nights to let him rest. And if that’s the case, Trotz likely plans on using Wahlstrom this playoffs. Whether that’s on the 1st or 3rd line remains to be seen.

If Trotz Isnt Comfortable with Wahly
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>slapshot723</b></div><div>Not playing Wahlstrom had nothing to do with Wahlstrom. It had everything to do with not wanting to waive Komarov or Johnston, for some unknown reason.</div></div>
My understanding was that Wahlstrom was banged up a few games back, and now that Trotz had greater depth on his roster, he figured he had the depth to let Wahlstrom rest.
This is optimistic of me to say, but it could be an indication that Trotz absolutely plans on using Wahlstrom throughout the playoffs and wants to be as sure as possible that he’ll be healthy.

Hall to isles possibly soon
Not so fast. This would be the lineup:
Komarov-Barzal-Eberle
Hall-Nelson-Palmieri
Bailey-Pageau-Zajac

Trotz is showing is he’s never taking Komarov out of the lineup. It’ll be:
Komarov-Barzal-Eberle
Beauvillier-Nelson-Palmieri
Bailey-Pageau-Zajac
Best case scenario, you flip Palmieri, Bailey and Komarov
I hate it too.

Zajac palmieri bailey line
I’d personally switch Nelson with Pageau, but otherwise, I like it. Maybe Pageau is the elusive LW1 (who knows?), but in the mean time, I love that middle 6. That 2nd line is all scorers, and not many 3rd lines can compare to Bailey-Zajac-Palmieri. This team is ridiculously deep on offense. All we need now is a 7th D.

I think in the short term, letting them get comfortable on a line together, likely the third line where they’ll get sheltered minutes, will help get their confidence up. No rule saying Palms has to stay with Zajac all season, for now, I like this move.

Predicting the isles lines after Trotz press conference
Pageau is too good a center to move to the wings, makes way too much sense to keep Pageau at center. I agree with this lineup.
A small part of me wants to believe this is the lineup:
Wahlstrom-Barzal-Eberle
Beau-Nelson-Bailey
Palmieri-Zajac-Pageau
Martin-Cizikas-Clutterbuck
It’d keep the second line, which has done well lately, intact. It’d also let us see how Wahlstrom looks next to Barzy. But your lineup is far more likely and I still love the way it looks.

(NJD/NYI) - Palmieri, Zajac for Greer, Jobst, 2021 1st, 2022 conditional 4th
As an Isles fan, I’m happy with this. But if we don’t win the Cup THIS YEAR, NJD wins this trade. Rentals are extremely risky, and honestly, I still don’t see this team as the frontrunner. I think this trade combined with their recent wins over the Caps make them the team to beat in their division, but after that, not sure this team beats Tampa or the West’s champ
But for now, I’ll call this a fair trade. Other than Boston, I don’t see who doesn’t what they want from this. Very much a win-win trade.

Might want the flexibility in case he wants to snipe another high profile target. Say it turns out the market for Hall or Foligno goes down, Lou can swoop in and get a bargain.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>LAK don’t have to move brown so we’d have to give up a ton of assets and be screwed next season just to get a 37 year old winger.
I’d bet hall will be a NYI in the next few days. It makes too much sense. He won’t cost a a lot in terms of assets and isles are one of the only teams that can take on his full salary</div></div>
I really don’t like the idea of acquiring Hall. Don’t feel like pitching futures for a guy who’s currently struggling. I get it could happen, but I’m not keen on it happening.
As for Brown, that’s fair, though I get a feeling exposing Leddy/Bailey in the expansion draft would help from a cap perspective. I’m just not a fan of rentals, they’re what you do when you’re already a frontrunner, not when you’re a contender.
