<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawksFan28</b></div><div>You have Staal and Rask, and Anisimov can give either one of them a run for their money.... Anisimov is supremely talented, and the only reason why I advocate trading him is because his talents and skill-set doesn't mesh in well with the Hawks core..... Think of it this way - cake is good, pizza is good - now would you mix the two? no, because they just don't mesh well and that's a good analogy here for Anisimov in Chicago.

So I would really have to disagree here - this is a sweetheart deal, one of those deals you cant pass up.

Besides, If I were Bowman I would go out and get what the Canes would "want" for TvR, Kruger and that pick.

Also, It's not like the trade makes or breaks that roster..... I just want Joe Veleno because I believe he would reach max potential here in Chicago and could be the steal of the draft because of that...

I mean the Hawks will be drafting somewhere around there too, but I want to have my cake and eat it and have BOTH Veleno AND Boqvist in the process (:) - because Veleno, Boqvist, Jokiharju, Schmaltz, DeBrincat would be a really nice core for the Hawks moving forward...</div></div>

We now got a new mini Anisimov by acquiring Victor Ejdsell in the Hartman trade since Ejdsell plays a similar game to Anisimov and is the same height as him as well. Anisimov’s NMC turns to a partial one in the summer so it would be easier to trade him. Getting rid of that 4 mil cap hit would be important to signing good free agents. Plus you get two lottery draft picks so it’s nice.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawksFan28</b></div><div>I know, I have watched him a lot this season - a generational talent for sure.

He's Karlsson, Headman and Lidstrom all in one player......

The reality tho is he reminds me a TON of Bobby Orr...... I've been calling him the "Next Bobby Orr" because he is - he's a very similar player.

Odds are the Hawks won't get Dalhin tho....... However, Adam Boqvist is an Erik Karlsson clone and I would love the Hawks to draft him, and he's projected to go 5-7th, which is why I want Carolina's first round pick... The Hawks can use their pick to take Boqvist and Carolina's pick to take Veleno.

I would be thrilled if the Hawks walked away from the draft with Adam Boqvist and Joe Veleno...... The Hawks would have their future core right there in Adam Boqvist, Joe Veleno, Henri Jokiharju, Nick Schmaltz and Alex DeBrincat. Also, Duclair, Hinostroza and Sikura are no slouches either.... The best part is these kids would/will have an opportunity to learn from a core that has won 3 Cups, so the Hawks have the opportunity to be contenders for a very very long time if Bowman plays his cards right.

This is an extremely deep draft, perhaps the best draft ever and if I was Bowman I would try to get as many top 12 picks as possible .... I would absolutely dangle Anisimov and Nashvilles first round pick to move up in the draft..... I think a package of Anisimov, Forsling and pick #25 is certainly a good package... Heck I would consider moving anyone that doesn't have a NMC and isn't named DeBrincat, Schmaltz or Jokiharju to get another pick in the top 12..</div></div>

That Nashville pick will probably sit at over 25 and adding Anisimov to that I bet you may be able to get a pick around maybe 10-15. Ty Smith is over there around 10, Joe Veleno obviously as well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawksFan28</b></div><div>IMO, with the cap going up to at least 82 (it may go up to as much as 85) the Hawks really don't need to move Seabrook along with assets because his cap hit won't be an issue. Sure, the cap space can be better used - but as long as the Hawks have what they need - what good is empty cap space sitting around???? it's not like Seabrook will be preventing the Hawks from signing a UFA this summer... The Hawks are going to have plenty of cap space with Seabrook on the books to sign just about any UFA they want (except for Tavares)...

I'm sure if there is a deal that makes sense Bowman will trade Seabrook - but I don't see any teams interested in him right now with his front-loaded contract. Seabrook is making 9 million in 2018-19, then 7.5 in 19-20 and then his salary goes down to 5 million a year in 20-21.... So yea trading him in 20-21 will be a lot easier IF the Hawks even have to.

The truth is Seabrook will be finishing his career with the Hawks...

The more the cap goes up the lesser the burden his contract is, and right now it's a pain in the @ss but it's not preventing the Hawks from improving the team via UFA signings or trades.

Let's not forget there is a good chance Seattle will be awarded a franchise this summer, and if that happens they will be ready to rock for the 2019-20 season and they may take Seabrook at that point and at the very worse the cap will go up another 8 million..

So realistically the salary cap could be at 95-100 million in 2 years and that would make Seabrook's cap hit irrelevant.

Seabrook's contract is only a liability from a cap perspective if it prevents Bowman from improving the team, and I don't see that being an issue for the foreseeable future.</div></div>

Good point on the fact that the cap will go up and make his contract more affordable. However, I don’t think it’ll go up as much as you think. If so, we’ll be having a lockout for the 2019-2020 season. But even if it goes up to what I think it will ($79 million) it’ll still make Seabs’ contract really affordable especially since we’d still have almost 10 million in cap.

Really appreciate all the positive feedback on this team! Thanks!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HawksFan28</b></div><div>Lol, I was just about to say "Carolina fans are going to chew you a new one for that proposal" although it appears that avalanche is already coming.

The Hawks will have 20+ million in cap space this summer, instead of making trades and shopping Seabrook for junk in return (I'm not saying Faulk), Bowman can just fill our defensive needs/holes via free agency... I mean there are a lot of #4-5 defenseman in this UFA class and that's all the Hawks need... A couple of them, a Vermette, a Bozak and a Kovalchuk or James van Riemsdyk and the Hawks will be ready to contend next fall.

I'd be thrilled if the Hawks ended up with the first overall pick and snagged Rasmus Dahlin, but I'm not holding my breath because somehow the Oilers will find themselves drafting first overall again. I will say tho, if the Hawks end up with a top 5 pick they're getting a franchise player - that's for sure. I mean if they can get Brady Tkachuk, Andrei Svechnikov, Filip Zadina or Adam Boqvist I'll be happy.... I mean Adam Boqvist is a Karlsson clone and he's not even close to going first overall - he will certainly go in the top 5 but that goes to show you how deep this draft is at the top.... The Hawks also got Nashville's first round pick, and I think Bowman could use that pick to move into the top 5 if the Hawks are drafting just outside of the top 5... Either way the Hawks should walk away from this draft with a really really good player - an elite top line forward or #1 franchise defenseman.... SO not landing Dalhin won't be bad at all because the consolation prizes are pretty nice...

Besides, I could see Edmonton throwing the farm at team that ends up with the first overall pick because Dalhin is exactly what they need.. I could see Edmonton easily offering up Leon Draisaitl + their first round pick for the opportunity to snag Dahlin.....Dalhin is fricking Bobby Orr 2.0..</div></div>

I agree with the oilers thing. If we don’t get number one I want boqvist. Defense is a number one issue with both Keith and seabrook fading fast. JVR would be great for the first line or with kane he’s totally movable but I can see him back with Toronto if they don’t win the cup. Most importantly thank you for not totally ripping me apart for the seabrook trade!
