Feel so sorry for Mcdavid and Draisaitl...
What is the plan to shed salary cap for Bouchards new contract in the summer? Looks to be hard to fit it under the cap.

Full season of Luke Hughes, Alex Holtz, maybe even Simon Nemec and Arseni Gritsyuk
Good sign to see Devils in the second round in their first year of contention</div></div>
They got a bright future. It was just too early against a team peaking.
Maybe one/two experienced/glue guys to 3&4 strings and a decent goalie and devils good be hard to beat.

Very poor start to the regular season...got hot at the end of the season...snuck in as an 8 seed...went on an absolute heater once they got in. It didn't take long for Kings to be recognized as the best team in the playoffs after the dispatched the top 2 seeds in just 9 games that year. Panthers played an elite #1 seed, hence the need for 7 games. Otherwise, very similar runs.
No doubt who the new cup favorite is right now.</div></div>

"Feel, yet again, leafs biggest problem come playoffs is the lack of nastiness.
You can say a lot about how tampa is built, but playofftime ( when the whistle gets suddenly lost) guys like Killorn, Perry, Maroon, Bogosian, Cernak step up.
Even Sergachev and Hedman are at least scary big.
Who answers the bell after one of those relocates Marners rib with an crosscheck that doesnt get called?"
I am guessing all new boys in town.... :D

I can actually see Carolina signing Pulju for 2years/1,2M AAV in the offseason no matter how this season ends. (And yes I think he is bound a paycut but its unlike that will stand in the way if he likes it in Carolina)

Teams got more cap then we think they do lul</div></div>
Well yeah there is some cap, but most of that is what I would call "rental cap"
If they take on someone who is not pending Ufa, or that they want to trade&sign problems will appear when they are back in full health.
So when trading they need to already figure out whose caphit to shed in the summer, and at what cost.

Remember earlier in the season Dallas fans complaining about Hakanpää.
Reallt dont know how much more can you expect from a stay-at-home physical Dman (close to 150 hits) with an 1.5M/year contract.
I'm thinking just about every team would have him for playoffs at least with that prizetag.

To me pulling a Colorado feels more of the right move
Acquire a top 4 RD
Acquire 2-3 guys who can contribute in the bottom 6</div></div>
