seen this ullmark trade in a few places
Id be good with that as a bruins fan, the depth behind will get thin Lindholm/Carlo/McAvoy with the subsequent moves the bruins will likely have to make.

The overages are included under “overages” I believe. Actually on second look they may not be… sorry!

Was put on waivers 2-3 times this season and cleared. Of course, the ol' "change of scenery" could get something out of him, but at this point he is what he is for CBJ.
And yeah, I think it's reasonable to say 34 is too high. I'd like to target Griz, though.</div></div>
Yeah i kinda wasnt really thinking on Bemstrom, more on the player Gryz is and whether 34 was too rich or not! Good to know as i havent watched a ton of CBJ this year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bluejackets2000</b></div><div>OK, so Grzelcyk is really that much better than Bemstrom?
He's 6 years older, makes $500k more, 3 inches shorter, 16 lbs. lighter, and his stats are a bit underwhelming.
Is he feisty, like Marchand?
Or does he just need a scenery change?
Why exactly should CBJ give up the #34 pick in the 2023 draft in this trade? I am just not seeing it.</div></div>
On Columbus he'd be a top 4 puck moving d-man. Really efficient at breaking the puck out of his own end and starting transitions. He hasn't really had a ton of PP time and the points reflect it, although he has looked more than comfortable when he has played on the top unit.
Im not sure CLB will move 34 for him, but i think he could be moved for a second round pick to a closer to contending team further back in the 2nd.

Carolina gets some scoring and physicality
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jdipaolo27</b></div><div>Upped it to a first in 2024 but I thought the news out of Boston had been that he has continued to ask for a trade on and off. Another guy that is about to hit free agency that they might decide to move on from. I looked at Hall but with the clause I decided to stay away.</div></div>
Fair to stay away with Hall, and i do see the upcoming UFA. But I really think the Bruins are still gonna try to contend, and i havent heard of a trade request since Cassidy wasnt brought back. I think if a Debrusk deal were to make any sense it would be if the bruins have a really bad year and he becomes a deadline target! JDB seems like one of the guys they want to build around.

Carolina gets some scoring and physicality
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>OK. Let's look at the 15 teams that would be Hall's trade list. Tampa, Florida, Leafs....all have no cap. Kings, Vegas, Flames, Oilers, no cap, Minni, Avs, no cap. Isles , Blues no cap. Devils likely no cap and LW isn't need Sabres and Wings have cap but have no motivation to help the Bruins and their cap situation. Well that's 14. Pens, Canes, Washington, I'm doubting need a winger and again no reason to help their the Conference rivals with their cap. Hall was 49th highest scoring winger LWer in points per game and the 21 highest paid. Just saying teams can spend 6m better than Hall.
You're right, it really doesn't make a ton of sense for any team on Hall's trade list to acquire him.
Though I think Ullmark has possibilities more trade destinations, other teams either their goalie situation solidified or have no cap.</div></div>
There’s a handful of those teams that will have cap. Like COL for example has a ton of UFAs and most of them can go.
At the end of the day. The thread is about DeBrusk and I would put him being traded at less than 5%. He is not the “easy” deal that the bruins are gonna make. His cap number, age, position make him the kind of player that you need to hold on to.

Why in your mind is Hall impossible? The injury is concerning. But him and Ullmark have 15-16 no team lists. There’s opportunity. Also, Forbort and Gryz are still there to move. I’d bet a lot that DeBrusk isn’t going anywhere. It really doesnt make a ton of sense

We just dont see eye to eye on this one. I would say that Forbort, Hall, Gryz, and Ullmark are all more likely to be moved than DeBrusk.

Next Year
Finding a spot for Mittelstadt may be tough for BOS depending on who comes back etc. But i do like the idea of the trade in general. Boston saves money, moves back in the draft a little and gets a player who can impact the lineup more than Reilly is at this point. Creative idea! Not sure if thats what BUF would want - but it is interesting for BOS

Foligno might be a cap dump to you - but i would put his chances of being moved by Boston at less than 5%. He's played really well this year, been the glue on the 4th line and been a vocal leader in the room. The players they would move to make the money work would be Mike Reilly or Craig Smith - even then i dont think they make the deal above.

Value wise to great to pass up. Logistically he’s not a fit.</div></div>
Thats easier said than done, depends on timing of when you're playing games, etc. 2nd Deal would probably need to be decided ahead of time. value coming back to Vancouver isn't realistic either which probably changes everything anwyas

Btw Lysell is playing a lot a p/gp right now in his first year of AHL hockey. The year before he was the Giants best player with 62pt in 53gp. Not really sure what you mean by "Lysell didnt have a super hot year"</div></div>
I think the whole Lysell didnt have a great year is just that 62 in 53 in the W is not like world beating numbers. I think that year though is tricky, he started the year off prettly slow but dominated the 2nd half of it and the playoffs he was producing way more with a worse team after the deadline. I think people just look at the numbers and dont look at the context.

As a B's fan its awesome to see Merkulov, hes been great. As has Lysell - both at the moment have 11 points in 10 AHL games. I loved watching Josh Filmon when NJ played the B's in pre-season he seems like a player

the tricky one right now for me is DeBrusk, he's had a great camp, preseason and start and looks like a legit point getter. That being said Horvat would be a good get, and i think the trade is fair at this point. My hangup like i said is if Debrusk keeps performing this way it may turn into kinda not fair. so id be willing to replace him with a different asset to try to make up the value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMBL</b></div><div>"Obviously Boston could their cap space to sign impact players in free agency like a top 6 center."
The C ufa class might be led by Monahan and Toews, maybe Horvat and perhaps Larkin. Toews and Monahan may have great seasons but even so, unless Horvat and Larkin make it there won't be too many C options.
If they are trading Pasta perhaps they can trade him prior to the draft for Horvat/Larkin+ assuming neither are signed/on a new team.</div></div>
Trading him at the draft though is pretty much trading his UFA rights and isnt gonna get you anything of value. On second read, are you saying the wings/b's or canucks/b's swap UFA rights? ive never really seen it, but its kinda interesting.
