Finding Value-players
I would imagine the picks would have to be conditional on Reilly re-signing.
If Sandin takes ghost's spot in the lineup then the leafs would probably put him on waivers and buy out the last year of his contract.

Cap issues 2020
You guys are forgetting in order to get the cap relief from Hortons contract we need 5.3 mil in cap space to start the season. Also if you look at our D men leafs are hoping guys like liljegren and sandin will be ready .. if not we'll have to spend a few million on a couple more dmen

Becoming elite
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MG1986</b></div><div>The fact that this team is in the Western Conference in year 1 makes them an elite team, so a deal like that isn't needed. I don't think Tatar is going anywhere simply because of what it cost the team to acquire him at the deadline and I am not sure they'd get an equal return at this point. There is absolutely no need to trade Bellemare. His contract and team-first attitude makes him an asset. I like the Tavares signing and feel they have a legitimate shot to sign him, should he become a UFA on July 1st. I've read a lot about how teams are pissed at the NHL for the way Vegas was able to go about leveraging their expansion draft for favourable trades and players. If they somehow sign Tavares, you better believe teams are going to be mighty pissed, not the least of which would be Garthy Snow. To them all I say boo fricken hooo!</div></div>
I think bellemare is good too but I had too much cap space tied up in the forward group

Pesce would be a great pickup, but I think if canes trade him it will be for more of an impact forward than Brown. they are loaded on D and don't need giveaway gards. Nice ideas.</div></div>
Yeah maybe I value Brown a lil more than the canes would.. but it is a good base for a trade.. maybe upgrade to a 2nd rnd pick and throw in the rights to RFA Calvin Pickard...

They save 500000 the first year but they free up about $9mil when free agency comes around-you're to sign patches

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>i'll only say this one last time and i honestly cant believe i have to state it
IF we trade Price 100% guaranteed we will not take a Goalie in the deal as the ONLY Motivation to move Price is if Niemi-Lindgren keep out playing Price like last year .
Plus we have Mcniven , Hawkey and Primeau in the mix with our 2 NCAA Goalies in the top 1/3rd of NCAA Goalies and Mcniven our Puck Mover about 3 years away from hitting his prime .
we have tons of reasons to move Price but trying to stick us with a **** back up goalie you paid like a 1st string guy is NEVER going to happen
it would be like you trading Mcdavid for Malkin or Kesler , it just sounds stupid because it is and we are already flipping Niemi we dont got time to try and polish a turd with Talbot</div></div>
Talbot is only there to be traded to another team.. he is a UFA. And since the oilers retained salary hewill be easy to trade for a pick or 2.. Lndgren starter with Talbot as backup. Niemi is a UFA (and he sucks) have won't resign him

But Drai>Carey Price, and Byron’s only makin up for Price’s terrible contract. My point is I think the Habs need to add a 2019 1st.</div></div>
Yeah but lucic sucks and price is a premier goalie.
Draisaitl and Lucic's contracts add up to $14.5 mil Price is only $10.5 which means the oil save about $20mil over the next 7years
Draisaitl is expendable with McDavid Nuge Strome & Khaira manning the middle ice

The oils actually save money here 500000 cheaper even after retaining salary.. if the Habs are rebuilding they won't wanna have a team salary near the cap ceiling.

Stone is a UFA. If he wants to stay in Ottawa they can resign him in the off-season
Colborne and garrison are just there to help tank this year
Schroeder is a decent cheap depth player
Gaborik likely won't be healthy.. but when he is he's a top 6 forward
Got rid of condon burrows and Smith's hefty co tract and restocked the draft picks

Domi?
I seriously doubt Domi is dealt for that.
He is a young player who has had success, but is currently struggling. He will get a bridge deal from Arizona and likely bounce back.
Trading him a bunch of borderline NHL players does nothing for Arizona
Sparks is a young goalie who is top in the AHL leivo and soshnikov are young and cheap with upside.. 2nd rnd pick isn't bad either

So many problems...
1. All those trades, and not 1 was for a center...
2. Where's Dermott
3. All those trades and you don't trade the 3 big UFAs?
4. Where's Dermott?
5. WHY IS POLAK IN THE TOP 6?!?!?!?
6. Top 2 trades are way off.[/quote]
1 this is just for some playoff depth.. well have to acquire a 3rd line C in the off-season or draft
2 although Dermott has been great... I don't think he is ready for NHL playoffs and I think it will show soon
3 again.. this is for playoff depth.. all UFAs will walk this off-season komarov Polak jvr bozak Moore maroon all gone
4 he's winning the Calder cup with the marlies
5 Polak was an effective penalty killer in last year's playoffs.. until he got injured
6 rangers are in full blown rebuild mode & maroon will be a lil expensive because he's cheap and will be saught after by other teams

We have many puck moving defenseman.. Reilly Dermott Zaitsev gardner.. we'll need another stay at home style Dman once hainsey kicks the bucket.. I know he's a lefty but Gardiner only has one year left and with the retained salary staal would be paid like the 4-5 D man that he his.
Borgamn and Dermott aren't ready for NHL playoffs
