You said a 1st....they didn't get that. Not to mention the Rangers pick will equally be late in the second round, The draft stats drop off after round 1 on success, stop trying to play strawman fallacy - it wasn't a 1st round it was a bottom of the barrel 2nd rounder.

Chris Johnson Report
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DarthRightus</b></div><div>Then why were they heavily invested in Lindholm before the trade?</div></div>
They were invested in a trade and sign - aka adding a player to their roster for years to come. They aren't looking at rentals with high price tags as they have cap space to spend next year. This was meant to be a transition year - not a rebuild....transition. So it would make sense that they make a trade and sign for a player they can use moving forward. The reports were Lindholm was unwilling to make a commitment so the Bruins bowed out.

They got a 2nd and 4thand had to retain 50% salary, that is nothing like a 1st LOL

if you think we're doing that deal under duress you're delusional. this isn't a must for us it's a want.
Boston on the other hand HAS to do something. Florida is taking the conference by the throat right now.</div></div>
Bruins in reality don't need to do anything....this is their transition year. They planned to get younger and use their 29 million cap next year to sign Swayman, JDB and others.

Nothing has been said about him not moving, more so that he has a 16 team no trade list and the fact the Bruins success is in large part due to the fact they have two number 1 goalies. So many surmise he wont be moved.

Hanifin to Bruins
Bruins pass - price tag is way to high for them. Will someone pay that for a rental unlikely, will someone pay that for a player like Hanifin with term....perhaps. The Bruins can't afford to make this move. Lohrei is a contract protected player and showing signs he can play in the NHL. JDB by all accounts is still a 20 goal scoring winger and 40+ points a season player who has proven he can play the PK as well. Then toss in the 1st.....just to rich for the Bruins. Bruins pass and perhaps take a run a Hanifin if he is a UFA in the summer.

Yeah no doubt - very unlikely the Bruins trade Ullmark at deadline, but more likely after the post season. Will be interesting to see how things unfold.

Wonder of Kylington would be available - would be some what affordable as well. Bruins should move some lower end AHL player and nab Trenin from the preds.

Haven't heard the rumours on his short list he submitted in the summer to the Bruins - but you would have to imagine the Sens are likely not making the cut.

PLD has talent, but a head case in the locker room. Bruins likely pass as they don't want to add problem children to the roster (and his skill doesn't outweigh the headcase)

BRUINS GET JENNER AND FET RID OF FORBORT WHAT DO U THINK
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>you're getting three years of a bruins style of play middle six center that can score at 1.875M. that's better value than 99% of ELCs are going to give you.</div></div>
Jenner is $3.750 per season - and yes he may be a Bruins style player. When you are talking about Lohrei you need to see what you have in him vs trading for a 2nd line center who is often injured and avg's about 38 pts a season. If you are getting a younger player like Lindholm etc. it may be worth it. But a 1st and Lohrei for Jenner is not worth it for the Bruins. Just isn't a match. They need a number 1 center, not Jenner.

HANIFIN GOES HOME
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>delete</b></div><div>Hanifin wants to go home.</div></div>
Noah is a good D man, but I think the Bruins likely hold the fort for now and look to explore UFA's signings or trades in the offseason. You have to remember Lohrei has only been a D man for like 4 years. Once he grows into things a little more and gets top time in the AHL he will likely slot in nicely for the Bruins. According to Friedman and Lebrun the Bruins had a deal in place for Lindholm but because he didn't want to commit to an extension the deal fell through. Center depth is needed more than the Defense is right now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>players this summer do not help the team now - they're contenders.</div></div>
I agree, but moving one of the few bright prospects they have under a cap friendly ELC is not the right move for Jenner. Sure Jenner is a great team player and from all accounts a locker room player as well. But he is often missing games due to injury and hasn't eclipsed 45 pts in 8 years. The Bruins should only move Lohrei if they are getting a game breaker back and one they can lock contract wise. Jenner is not that player.

Bruins take a hard pass - Swayman is more valuable to the Bruins roster than Lindholm.
