Why do the panthers give away mackie. That’s a terrible decision.

Yeah you think so? They’ll be losing 1 of the 3. And if montour is signing for only 4 million which is crazy. He’ll be staying in Florida for that 110%. But why would they give up there young great player for a way overpaid 2nd pair dman who makes more than montour in this situation

Panthers aren’t trading away lundell for that. Probably can just get Faulk if he’ll waive for a 2nd at most.

But they’re taking on about what his salary would be in Hayes so what’s the point. It’s gonna cost a lot to get him from Florida. They can afford him.

Who to target
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>Campbell's first dozen games in the AHL were in the mid 800s, he's recovered and played well enough consistently enough to get to a 0.920 on the season in the AHL, knight is putting up NHL average save percentage against lesser competition in the AHL. For a goalie with so much promise, he should be killing it at that level.
$500,000 isn't even an ELC, the amount he is cheaper is insignificant, as to the contract, he's got what, one less year than Campbell? Plus when he's done, he's gone, so instead of trying to recoup assets for knight, I can get assets for Campbell, and potentially get more towards the end if he plays well, and on top of all that, Knights not pushing Dostal out for the starting gig.</div></div>
Well the oilers ain’t giving up that much to get rid of him and knight isn’t getting traded. So it doesn’t matter. Plus his gaa is like 6th in the ahl which is a better stat for the ahl and his save percentage is about league average in the nhl. I’d rather take a gamble on knight then know what I’m getting in Campbell

Why are you trading the much better player for an older less effective winger that they do not need. Just keep Bennett dont sign kulikov

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GiggywithGibby</b></div><div>I think at this point if we moved on from Gibson, I'd rather get paid to take Campbell than pay to get Knight.
Florida just absolutely botched his contract, he should be at most a 2 million dollar goalie right now.</div></div>
This is terrible take. Campbell has multiple season left knight has two more doesn’t make as much and as more potential than most. He’s been much better and has played the whole year. Yes he’s in the ahl but that’s because panthers wanted him to have playing time instead of playing 20 games on the nhl. Hes not getting traded he still has potential to be very good in the nhl.

Montour Re-Upped and Lundell Bridged
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsWoahWoah</b></div><div>100% but Florida likely has to give up assets to get rid of Knight... can't see any teams wanting to take on a goalie with a $4.5M cap hit who hasn't played in the NHL in almost two years and has been meh in the AHL this year.
Their future draft pick pool is almost as barren as the Bruins</div></div>
It’s been a year. He took off last March or February. And he’s not going to cost Florida anything to get rid of. But he won’t be traded why trade him. Let Reinhart walk he’s not gonna have another 50 goal season and he’s gonna get overpaid.

if they want a competitive rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>flyersflock</b></div><div>good point. ill change the trade to an offer sheet for a second round pick because Florida cant afford it</div></div>
I mean they can. I dont think they resign Reinhart if he wants more than 8.5 or montour if he wants more than 6. But lundell is worth more to them than either of them. He’s not given a top 6 role but if he was he’d be putting up points. So it would take a first and third for him to sign the offer sheet if he even wants to sign there.

But why would they want Laughton when they can sign lundell to the same dollar amount

But a first and a 2nd is better than this package. Laughton is barely a replacement and two seconds is nothing to Florida.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Bert's contract may sound crazy, but you have to look at the market l. Razor thin for forwards. Over payments there are gonna be the norm I am afraid. And if the Cats are gonna remain relevant, they will have to dive on. No one is the system. Don't hate the player, hate the game situation. Other option would be rolling the dice on someone. Not sure I go there.
Montour: RD defenseman with an offensive game. Those don't grow on trees. So where you are right in saying Forsling and Montour are in equal levels - paying the RD is the difference. The D market maybe strong this year, but the right side isn't. Montour is far amd away the best of the lot imo. As I said, Walker would work as a replacement, but you do take a step back offensively. But the money is probably more in tube with what you want to spend.</div></div>
So dont sign Bert. Sign someone with potential seems to work well for Florida. And if Bert didn’t get paid this past off season while he was playing much better than what makes you think he’ll get paid this one. And with montour 6 million here is 8 plus elsewhere so he can sign for a little less like forsling to make the same and keep the core together here.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>Given just how thin the UFA market is for forwards, Bertuzzi could very well see that.
Montour will get a raise.... that is fact. As it is in this scenario, he is probably taking a haircut already.
And how do you propose to keep Knight and ice a playoff team? Moving Bobrovsky is an option, but that is going to be a task.</div></div>
You’re talking about a million more in the ahl or 2 million more than Blackwood so it’s possible. Knight will be very good. Just gonna take another season with bob still around. Montour isn’t playing like he did last year and forsling is a better dman than him so they should sign the same contract. Bertuzzi may get overpaid but 6 million from Florida is crazy. He’s get 4 tops here with no taxes.

I still wouldn’t trade knight he’s been playing well in the ahl and will be with Florida nex t season. Bertuzzi for sure doesn’t deserve 6 million from Florida or at all. Barely a half point per game o na high offense team. And montour can take the same as forsling if he wants to stay here and keep the team together.

It would have to be over the 5 million one which is I think a first and third or whatever. But it’s possible. But I’d rather keep him then resign Reinhart to an9 mil contract. He’s great and all but one fantastic season isn’t worth all that.
