I get where you're coming from. Your fan base is pretty split on that though, and I'm taking the optimistic side from my perspective.

Picking up Davis I could get behind. Can't see the Bruins trading Swayman and Ullmark will be too expensive going forward.

Wallstedt isn't ready yet and lets be honest, Flower is a GREAT veteran backup with leadership.

Think y'all need to stop with the Jarry idea now. There's no way to make it work that makes sense for both teams.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyManiac95</b></div><div>Saw a deal similar to the Jarry deal with a 2nd instead of a 1st with no retention. We need something retained somehow. Maybe just add another mid pick instead?</div></div>
I don't like Jarry's contract. He lost the starting job at the end of the season to Ned, who is a UFA. If PIT retains half then maybe you could trade a 2nd, but I don't think they would do that and I think you all have better options in net that don't require draft picks. If Landy comes back, you all almost certainly need to just grit your teeth and move out a contract.

Yeah not good on any front for COL, SJS is finally embracing the rebuild so that move makes no sense for them, and that d-corp woof that 3rd pairing. I really think Georgiev is just going to be traded though not for Jarry who can’t stay healthy, and no way Manson gets traded.

No to the Jarry deal. It's giving up assets for a lateral move at best. If SJ will do that and aren't on Manson's NTC list then pull the trigger. Could even drop the pick lower and I'd probably say it still works.

Why are the Avs giving up a 1st round pick to make what appears to be a lateral move in net with very marginal cap savings from the swap? That seems like change just for the sake of change with a very high cost.
I also think you should lower your expectations on the return for whoever you all choose as your cap dump. It won't be as bad as it was this past offseason with the cap finally going up, but a 2nd coming back for Manson at his current age and contract alone seems high. He does still have value though, so I don't think it is so dire that you'd need to attach picks to move him. With teams knowing that this is a cap dump, the value of the return will be depressed.

I like Mason, but giving up a high 2nd for a 32 year old making 4.5 for a couple more years runs a high risk of regressing, plus we’re likely not in his list.

LTIRetires
I don’t know what happened to him but Georgiev is toast. The dude is so fragile mentally he can’t even stop a wrap around with a 3 goal lead. COL is burning a career year by MacKinnon just running him out in goal. I saw some crazy stat that when COL gets .900 not .910 not even .905 just .900 goal tending they are like 26-2, unless Georgiev plays spectacular in the playoffs there is no way you can bring him back. The melt downs the last month or so are mind boggling, breaking sticks, throwing stuff, 4 goals in 15 minutes in a must win game, he’s given up 22 goals in his last 5 that’s 4.4 goals a games. And most damning is you can tell the team doesn’t believe in him anymore.

Avs Devs
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>swinny</b></div><div>It's an interesting idea.
But, as a fan of neither team, here are my thoughts:
1. The Avs move cap space
2. The Avs get younger
3. Arguably, the Avs with Holtz do get the best offensive player - albeit that has yet to be proven.
4. With Colton, the Devils do add a more physical element. Same with Manson.
5. With Colton, the Devils do add more flexibility in the middle 6 (specifically with Haula and Colton).
So, where one could see the possibility of this working for both sides; I would say that this current construct is far more beneficial to the Avs.
Therefore...... something I think maybe missing. Perhaps a conditional pick? It really is the Holtz factor. If he realizes his potential, this is a slam dunk of a home run deal.for the Avs..... and I don't see Fitzgerald allowing that to happen. What this is, is a good ole fashioned hockey deal in the making which adds elements to both line ups..... but the Avs are simply missing something in that package for me.</div></div>
Well laid out comment. I agree with pretty much everything here, including that Colorado adds.
I also really like the suggestion of a conditional pick. Something based on whether Holtz pops makes sense. Would need to think more about what that might look like, but the logic is sound.

Why would the Jackets give up a high 3rd for a player the Jackets have tons of? If we gave up a third there would need to be some sort of purpose that makes the Jackets better.

Rags will sweep the avs if they play like they have been. They ain't playing the contender they can be. It's not just georgiev fault either. The whole team regressed defensively for whatever reason.
