And if they were willing to trade him for that he'd be gone already. GMKA isn't budging on the asking price so it's either going to be an "overpayment" or he stays.

They probably want a center who can score, Danault is great for what he does but Vegas struggled with scoring in the playoffs and Danault doesn't help too much in that category.

Jack to Vegas
Agreed, I think Krebs is the best prospect they can realistically get, sends Eichel out west, and Eichel should put Vegas over the top. The only thing is the picks will be 30-32 most likely which isn't great for Buffalo.

Celebrating Because The Devils Want Risto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>The Devils own the 4th pick. Not hard to connect the dots on what he is suggesting here.
(Lysowki is "hearing the same as Elliotte". But Eliotte was quoting Lysowski.)
Also, "glaring need at RHD with Carrick a UFA" is quite funny considering Carrick was our 8th or 9th d-man and played mostly in AHL this year.
I took that as Risto and Ghost in same boat as cap dumps. I mean, if Ghost is a cap dump, then certainly Risto would also be one.</div></div>
I disagree, Ghost still has 2 more years on his deal. Risto has just the one and I think has more value, teams still think they can work with his physical tools. Definitely not anything substantial but I bet he fetches a couple picks.

Celebrating Because The Devils Want Risto
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NHLfan10506</b></div><div>(1) Connor Carrick was an AHL'er and like the 8th or 9th d-man on Devils depth chart
(2) If they need to replace Carrick, they aren't giving up the 4th overall pick, as Lysowski hints.
(3) Nor would they deal Miles Wood, as this OP suggests.
(4) Eliotte Friedman linked Devils with Risto and Ghost "with a sweetener included"
(5) That means Sabres would be paying NJD to take Risto, especially if he becomes their new 8th or 9th d-man.</div></div>
Where did Lance say they were going to get 4OA?
Also Friedman said there would be a sweetener for Ghost not Risto.

What it would actually take to get Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>Thank you!!!! I’ve been saying this for months. I’m not even sure mcdavid could fetch half the returns sabers fans seem to think. Sooo many times see “any eichel trade starts with…” like the sabers are in position of having any leverage he’s a good not great top line centre that is seriously broken and disgruntled if the injury doesn’t scare away most of the league his attitude will. This is one case I gotta say accepting pennies on the dollar is the best case scenario it’s a distraction and negative look on the franchise longer this drags out.</div></div>
"He's a good not great top line center" he was top 5 in hart voting just last year, averaged ppg with a broken rib this year. The team sucking is the only reason his "attitude" is bad, ROR was the same reasoning and suddenly that disappears when you start winning.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mike_Gartner</b></div><div>ok, so in your opinion, what is the return for Eichel?</div></div>
It's different based on the situation, if they ultimately do trade him I doubt it would be in conference and if so would make the rangers have to overpay- 2-3 of Kakko, Lundquist, Jones, Schneider, or Kratsov and a couple picks.
I think LA would be the best offer- with 2 of Byfield, Turcotte, Kupari, Vilardi and a couple picks.

i'm of the opinion that Eichel's value is not the value placed on him by the Sabre collective on this silly little site.</div></div>
Agree to disagree then, I'd say his value is that of a top 10 center in his prime thats under contract for 5 years.

What it would actually take to get Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mike_Gartner</b></div><div>this is a bad take. the ship has sailed on the "if an outrageous offer does not present itself, Buffalo will keep him" narrative. things are so bad between Buffalo and Eichel, that relationship is over.
in regards to interest in Eichel, it will be a bidding war from the bottom up not the top down.
sure, "half the league" is going to call on Eichel, but the number of teams that will submit quality offers is probably 5 teams or less.
if you are expecting this type of return for an injured, disgruntled, and all but demanded out Eichel - it will be a long summer for you.
regardless of the outcome, it can be guaranteed that Eichel will not be in Buffalo come next season and either will Byfield or Laf...
GOODBYE JACK!</div></div>
Insider Mike Gartner, obviously it's a serious situation but no one knows if the relationship is over, both sides have reasons to be cautious- Eichel for his health and the Sabres for the $ they have invested in him but he's under contract for 5 more years. They will not take an offer under his value since the ROR situation ended so poorly and if he does ultimately get healthy through rehab or surgery he will not be sitting out.

Would not say clearly, Skinner was buried all year behind an awful coach, played a lot better when put with better players and a competent coach. In the end both contracts suck and both players are going no where.

Couturier also only 1 year on his deal after this one and going to be due a significant raise. If Eichel is traded they still have him under control at 10 mil for 5 years.

MTL trades

For all 3 8th OVA + Ristolainen + Kahun/Cozens + 3rd would likely be the price.
Domi = 8th OVA
Droun = Risto + 3rd
Allen = Kahun or Cozens
again all of the prices are higher simply because we would have to then beat an improved Buffalo team for a playoff spot and we do not have to move any of them.</div></div>
So you just got Jake Allen for a 3rd pretty much and he's worth a top 5 prospect in the NHL now?

You reward the guys who battled and rose to the challenge, you don’t ship them off</div></div>
Players understand its a business, plus I don't think trading for 2 proven NHL players is sending a bad message, I would say it's sending a message to take the next step.
