Please stop with the Pesce trades. He’s overvalued on this site and we are not giving up Nylander for him.

You could probably get Bennet and a 3rd for Kerfoot from Calgary, you open to that?

Leafs moves
Tbh I like the team. Values look alright, maybe add a pick going to FLA, but other than that, I love this roster. Not sure about bringing back Matt Martin, I’d rather keep Clifford. Good roster!

I think you can get more from Andersen than that and I also think Murray for Kapanen or something like that would be what what i'd be willing to give up. A pick of something as well maybe and then move andersen in a different move to fill a different hole.

Point I was making is that he's an RFA, we don't have to trade him. At least make a competitive offer. You clearly want him so consider that other teams can beat that offer easily

You are right. Nylander ain't even close to either Tkachuk at all. If we added Robertson would you do this flames fan? I think that is fair, if Robertson can't be a leaf, I'd like to send him to one of my other favourite teams.

Oh :tearsofjoy
Why not move Kappy and Domi to Matthews's wings? Then Mikheyev and Marner with Tavares, no reason to sign Hoffman.

Ekblad
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bf3351</b></div><div>They could just acquire Ekblad without CBOing Bobrovsky... "Much cheaper than not spending that money" Wtf, please explain that.
I'm delusional? You're the one that is suggesting adding 58.5M to their payroll making that around 140M for one season like it's fake money. You seem to forget how much money teams lost because of the Coronavirus. Right now, Maple Leaf Sport & Entertainment is not making any money.
So let's say this goes through and the owners are dumb enough to go through with it. Leafs lose in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round and no cup, what then? 58.5M wasted.
Why would Dubas even present this to the owners? If Leafs lose and waste 58.5M, Dubas is as good as fired.</div></div>
Arguing with you is like talking to a wall. They receive a discount on Ekblad for taking on Bobrovsky's contract allowing them to acquire him for much cheaper than not taking on the contract, get it?
They get Ekblad for 5 years, and with him they are more of a contender without, likely going deeper in the playoffs and generating more money.
Who said I'm throwing it around? This is a multi-billion dollar company that will bounce back much better than pretty much any other team in the NHL.
They also have a history of taking on contracts for minimal returns so why would they not consider this? They traded for Clarkson last year and paid over $5 million to upgrade Garret Sparks return from probably a 6th/7th to a 4th round pick. MLSE is all in on winning and if spending money gets them closer, they won't even blink.
Also, if the NHL wasn't a hard cap league the Leafs yearly salary would probably be upwards of $200M every year anyways, they have money to burn.

In general if ekblad was offered to cbo bobrosky leafs would do it. That type of money is nothing to the organization. In general the 58.5 mill would not be payed all at once.in the case of a cbo " Compliance buyouts (sometimes referred to as amnesty buyouts) allow National Hockey League (NHL) teams to buy-out a player's contract by paying him two-thirds of the remaining value of a contract over twice the remaining length of the contract. If the player is under 26 years old, then the team may pay the player just one-third of the remaining contract value.[1] In ordinary-course buyouts, the team's NHL salary cap hit for the player is stretched over a period of twice the remaining length of the contract. Compliance buyouts follow the same formula as ordinary-course buyouts but do not count against the cap." Meaning Dubas would only have to pay Bob 2/3 of his contract over a 14 year period. So that 58.5 would not be payed off all at once but would be in 10years+

Where are you getting 140M from now? I said the 58M of Bobs contract fool. A million people in the GTA buying shirts/sweaters/jerseys during a cup run is 100% possible and between $200 jerseys, $80 sweaters, and $30-40 tshirts, they'd easily make $60M. Imagine saying has no common sense when you have none yourself. Keep telling yourself you understand business while you have time to make 5000 posts on ACGM

If it meant they could pull off that trade, MLSE would agree to it, Leafs winning a cup would make them that much easily with all of Toronto buying jerseys/sweaters etc

I always wondered what would the leafs have to offer to get ekblad. I knows 1st is a must, Robertson and Abramov aswell. But what else. I believe the Panthers would want a return similar to what karlsson got

<a href="/users/Hockeyguy12345" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@Hockeyguy12345</a> , I think your value is okay for subban at 50%. He still is a very good defender. Granted, he isn’t the offensive butterfly. He still puts up good minutes, and people are either hot or cold on the guy.
