I respect everyone's opinions. None of my arguments should ever be taken as "I'm right, you're wrong" but rather "Here's what I think and the reasons why I think you should see it my way too." Everyone is free to disagree and isn't any more or less valid for doing so.

probably not. Backstrom is one oh those players who get paid very less than their value. Capitals gave 8 years contract 5.75M a year to oshie who is not the same range of player so why give him less? It will be his last "big contract " and he wil' want money. they have his stanley cup with you, did 900 point in 924 games, 106 points in 123 playoff game and good wherever you wanted he was. He deserve a bigger co tract than 5 years 6 million

He does deserve a lot, but I'm liking where BMac has this negotiation. I would love to know the AAV right now. My guess is BMAC wants to get the AAV down a little more and would give him 5 years if he can have that agreed to.

Maybe ECHL was a little harsh, but it's not just this year. His stats have been trending down for 5 years. Last year's stats are only marginally better than this years, only difference was SJ had the scoring depth and better-playing D to overcome his bad play.

it's not one bad year anymore. jones is below .900 SV% over his last 100 starts. dell is even worse. calling jones an ECHL goalie is an exaggeration, but jones is only an NHL starter because SJ doesn't have a better option available.

Why not Blakeypoo
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyguy77</b></div><div>Blake drafted Vilardi who's biggest issue which dropped him down to 11th overall was his skating. So im not too sure how committed Blake is to that skating statement. I could see the Kings parting with Luff and Amadio to take a chance on Andersson.</div></div>
The 2017 draft was two months after he had been promoted to GM, before it was clear that the Kings were going to be that terrible that quickly, and likely well before he established that philosophy. The statement that he made regarding the skating threshold wasn't made until the season ticket holder event in the Summer of 2018.
If it was just the questionable skating, I could see Blake at least making a phone call to the Rags front office to see if he could get a good deal on a former top 10 pick. However, this new development of him walking away from his team while under contract pretty much eliminates any possibility of them doing so. This isn't a Puljujarvi situation where he wasn't under contract and was exercising his rights as a RFA by signing a contract in Europe. Andersson has a contract and pretty much told his team to F-off because he felt like he was being mistreated. No one wants a player like that in their organization as discontent can be contagious.

Not bad. Agree both Rempal and Brickley have multiple guys in front of them. Not sure what their value would be though. But both were Highly coveted after college

Thread:
Why not Blakeypoo
The Rangers' prospect pipeline is one of the few in the NHL that is better than the Kings'. Rempal and Brickley would be non-starters for the Rags. They're both overaged and undrafted prospects that will probably spend their entire professional careers in the AHL. No one will give up anything of value for them.
If the Kings really did want Andersson, I could see the Rangers possibly looking at Luff, Wagner, or Amadio as the target for a trade. I don't think the Kings would be interested in Andersson though, as the biggest knock on him has been his skating, and Blake has said that they're not looking at players whose skating isn't up to par. Additionally, a young player that demands a trade and walks away from his team isn't going to be on the top of anyone's "desirable" list.
Too many red flags.

Yeah, the way he started so slow, that's tempting right now, but looking at their previous years, I hope Panik can still put it back together. Not sure if he just needs to play with more creative people, or what.

Maybe
I don't think the Kings will trade any non-pending UFA defenseman this season (Martinez maybe).
Additionally, I think Clague is destined for the left side, not the right. He was playing the right in Ontario due to necessity, but his game is significantly better when he's on the left.
While it would be nice to see Muzzin back in a Kings jersey, I don't think there's any way he takes that deal.

Maybe
Agree I think Lewis, Hutton, Ryan, LaDue, will go if there’s any offers for them. Maybe Clifford although I’d rather him resign. Maybe Carter or Martinez again depending on the value. As well as Quick or Campbell. I don’t see guys like Iafallo or Roy going just yet. They would be packaged in trades for higher end guys and I don’t think that’s happening. Blake has said over and over that we will be improving internally. I think next year will be pretty quiet with Free agents. after next year Kovi comes off The cap and Phaneufs hit drops significantly. Then we have the Expansion draft. I think after that we will start looking to add. But it wouldn’t shock me to see Muzzin or Clifford if he’s traded come back and resign either. Especially Cliffy. I think it depends how confident they are in some of the kids on D. And I’d resign cliffy no matter one. Just think he’s a solid team guy.

I don't think that re-acquiring Wayne Simmonds is a forward-looking move, especially in light of all of the youngsters they want to give playing time to.
I think that Grundstrom, Luff, Roy, Wagner and Walker all deserve a chance to prove themselves next year.
