I love all the clueless people on this website having to eat their words.
THERE IS A LOT MORE TO THE GAME OF HOCKEY THAN ADVANCED STATS.

Fold the Franchise
The Blackhawks have an abundance of 3rd line players already. (Gaudette, Suter, Kurashev, Borgstrom, Nylander, Hinostroza-ufa , Hagel)
They would not give up Kubalik for more.

Chicago is giving up VERY little for a top pairing defenseman. They would 100% accept this trade.

Chicago Blackhawks signed Riley Stillman (3 Years / $1,350,000 AAV)
idk how any one can say this isn't an overpay. Stillman has proved nothing and has very little NHL experience. He deserved a 1-2 year deal at 750k.
Has he looked okay in his VERY short stint so far in Chicago? Sure. Does that mean you pay him 2x what he's worth? Absolutely not.

Canucks after the draft
Hawks would probably make this trade without VAN retaining. Subban for Eriksson and 2021 1st. For VAN the 1st would probably have to be top 2 overall protected.

The Central Registry "rejection" does not make sense here. The system look to be broken currently.
Anyways, how much is Van willing to pay to rid themselves of the Eriksson contract moving forward?

(DET/WSH) - Mantha for Pánik, Vrána, 2021 1st, 2022 2nd
Mantha is the better player in this deal and makes WASH a better team right now. Vrana is a good player as well. Panik was a camp dump. I'm only struggling to understand why both a 1st and 2nd got included. Seems like one or the other for a fair deal. Not both.

(CHI/SJS/VGK) - Janmark for DeSimone for picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sensonfire</b></div><div>San Jose Sharks:
Traded away a player that should have no trade value and who you might as well place on waivers.
Got a 5th round pick for retaining 562K in salary when the Leafs got a 5th round pick for retaining 1.1 million on Lehner.
A win for San Jose.
Chicago Blackhawks:
Janmark is underated and Chicago's return is not as good compared to what New York or Detroit got at the time for Zuccarello or Nyquist.
The picks going to Chicago can't upgrade based on any conditions.
Now, you're probably thinking Janmark is not like Zucc or Nyquist, which is true.
However, centres are more important than wingers because they make plays, take faceoffs and can score points too, among other reasons.
Championship teams are more often built around their centres than around their wingers.
Chicago also spends a 5th round pick unnecessarily and retain over a million in salary.
A loss for Chicago.
Vegas Golden Knights:
Janmark's performance and production will take off, now that he's on a better team.
An underrated player who can play either on the wing or at centre, he can also play top six minutes and produce points at a good rate.
Vegas gets a 5th round pick on top.
And Janmark is brought in at a cap hit of only 562K and it only cost a 2nd and 3rd.
Wow!
Big win for Vegas!
In Vegas we trust!
I voted for the Vegas Golden Knights.</div></div>
This is an incredibly uneducated and uninformed analysis.
Any pick for a few hundred k in cap retention is a good deal.
Janmark is nothing more than a bottom 6 winger. He is not comparable at all to Zuc. Getting a 2nd and 3rd for a bottom 6 forward should be a win in anyone's book.
Janmark will not sniff Vegas' top 6. A 2nd, 3rd, and worse 5th is an overpay for what Janmark will contribute. Every Hawks fan was hoping to possibly get a 2nd but likely a 3rd for him.

(PHI/MTL) - Gustafsson for 2022 7th round pick
People that think this is such a steal for MON haven't watched Gus play. Even during his 60 point season I was BEGGING Bowman to trade him for a 2nd round pick.
He is the worst defenseman on his side of the red line in the league. When he single handedly loses you playoff games you will understand.

(CHI/COL) - Söderberg for Dickinson, Rolston
Seems like a trade Bowman made for Soderberg. Lets him play meaningful games in possibly his last year in the league. Picks up a recent draft pick that will end up a role AHLer most likely. Dickinson probably just a contract throw in.

Seems like a lot for the Leafs to pay for Hall.
I can't see Hall costing a 1st, two 3rds and a roster player. At least not with his season this year and the current rental market.
Overall I like the deals they just seem a bit rich for the buyers. Boston would more than likely only give a 2nd for Janmark and Kampf.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stan_Bowman</b></div><div>Defenseman take longer to develop. I like what we have in Beaudin. He could be a number 1 if he keeps progressing.</div></div>
Beaudin does not have the skill to be a top pairing defenseman. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot, but he just doesn't have to ceiling for top pair in the NHL. He will probably be a good 2nd pairing guy though for most of his career.

You clearly have not watched him play. He has 0 speed. He looked awful for the penguins. Slow, unable to follow the play, out of it, like the CTE has caught up to him with the deer in the head lights look.
why should anyone be excited to see a guy who clearly can't play anymore break a record?
I mean at this point, SJS are saying, well we need a feel good story because the team isn't gonna be any good?
That's the only message I get here. He sucks.
to not watch games but have "opinions"</div></div>
This guys an absolute clown. Marleau is still a capable bottom 6 forward on several teams. Someone will look to trade for him at the deadline just like this past year.
Most true hockey fans can recognize that is exciting to see a player break a long standing record.

Time is running out Stan
So what's the TL;DR on this argument? From the brief parts i read it looks like HatterTParty is an angry fan who hates Bowman but is incapable of rational thought and conversation. Exo looks to be defending Stan, not sure why, and saying Tallon didn't win three cups, which i agree with.
Stan has been trash the last 4 years. Most of his signings are too high. He is probably 50-50 on trades but the ones in which he has lost, HE HAS F****** LOST. Bad. Like bad bad.
He doesn't know when the right time to make a move is. He is HORRIBLE at managing the cap despite how people thinks he's some cap genius. He fired Q (you can have your opinions on whether that was right or not. I certainly have mine) only to bring in a nobody with nearly zero experience at any level who is proving to be quite incompetent.

Pressure is on for either an extension or trade...he lets up 6.</div></div>
It was one game. If it continues longer I would definitely agree with you.
He's stood on his head all year. Even the two before that he didn't play bad per se but he just wasn't shutting everything down like he has the rest of the year.

Agree on that. his last 2-3 games haven;t been as stellar as pretty much every game before that this year.
It is possible the contract and deadline situation is beginning to get to him at this time of the year. I wish the Hawks would pony up and sign him to a long term deal. I think that the best option organizationally moving forward. Crow only has 2-3 years left and hasn't been what he was before all the concussions, and they don't have any true A or B+ prospects in the system at goalie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>exo2769</b></div><div>If CAR fans were being honest with themselves....they wouldn't either. ALL of them we're 100% positive Mrazek was the guy...until he wasn't. Even with Douglas Ham out...CAR is still 2nd best in the league in shots allowed. Reimer's definitely been the better of the (2) goalies, but they have a good defense. OR CAR needs to go find a 2nd Hamilton...which isn't happening.</div></div>
The Canes haven't seen a truly good goaltender since Ward's first 2 years in the league. Anyone that comes in and does a good job for a short period is seen as a great goalie until they aren't.
The league knows how good Lehner is and every front office that is questioning their goaltending is looking into acquiring him. The Canes are one of those teams.
