<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>It isn't close as proposed. You have Montreal taking a player that has little to no value to them (Monahan) and adds cap, while giving up two 3rds and a 4th. Pitlick doesn't impact the value at all. This is Toffoli plus picks for Pelletier.

Tatar was a tool for cap mitigation where he luckily rebounded. That's best case for Monahan and not a likely outcome.

When you say Pelletier and a 2nd that's what I said. It involves the extra step of retaining and flipping Monahan to make that happen however. That's closer.

Calgary taking care of Monahan separately, or a 3-way where he just passes through (basically a guarantee we will indeed get a 2nd from another team), is what I see as reasonable.

I still don't consider Pelletier an attractive target, but I already conceded that he's a piece of value in my first sentence.</div></div>

wondering why you don't like Pelletier, he's a point per game player in the ahl with some pretty good skill, I believe its because he's slightly undersized? I tend to like bigger players but if we got Pelletier I wouldn't be upset

as for Monahan, he had 5 very good seasons in a row for Calgary and is only 3 seasons removed from 20 goals. To me getting him and playing him in the top 6 hoping he finds some chemistry and bounces back is much more valuable than a 2nd. If at the deadline he's on pace for 20 goals you could easily get a second for him and if he doing better you could get a first.
