I've said it before, I'd rather keep Lehkonen than acquire a 2nd. As long as he isn't given a Byron/Armia contract, he's worth keeping.
If you didn't read, Lehkonen's xGA and xSA are bested only by the perfection line and he's leagues ahead of his teammates despite their play.</div></div>
don't get me wrong I really like Lehkonen. I was simply saying that this isn't the move for the leafs especially moving a first. If we don't get a first for Lehkonen then obviously we should keep him. but the perfect team scenario would need to unfold for someone to move a first, they must think that adding a Lehkonen to a shut down line throws them over the top which is certainly not the case for Toronto

I can’t put Jiricek in a tier higher, i can’t see it, he’s the clear number 2 D in this class but he’s not close to Nemec, Cooley or Yurov. If the Habs pick 2, we’d have to go with Kemell, Savoie or possibly Nemec if we really want a RD</div></div>
Guess I’m one of the few not willing to drop lambert down that low
Anyways we’ll see how the rest of the season goes

Pretty solid stuff
my only question is how is do you have geekie in a tier above Lambert? geekie is a decent prospect but doesn't seem to have any standout ability and I'm not sure how good hell be, while on the other hand Lambert has incredible speed and agility with very good hands, fantastic passing and decent size. Im still very high on him and certainly not low enough to have him in that tier.
id also probably have jiricek in a tier above as I really like his game
lets say the habs pick 2, would you like them to grab nemec/jiricek, savoie or kemell
im not sold on Kemell as he's small and not super strong on the puck and has a good shot but not unbelievable. im personally still a massive fan of Lambert but id be cool with savoie. I also think they're is a legit case for nemec/jiricek

Trade Deadline doubt these get done
the Toffoli value is decent . only problem is trading a good player within the division and to a rival for multiple years. the offer would have to blow us away for that to happen

Montreal Canadiens - LeBrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RobbStark03</b></div><div>Maybe, but then in the playoffs dragged this team to the Cup. Allen played well in the regular season, well enough to get this team that goes through excessively long droughts to the playoffs. Montreal's issue is the whole team, neither of the goalies.</div></div>
Not arguing price literally dragging us to the cup or Allen being a very good back up
My questioning is A team taking Carey price and Allen hoping to have price play very dominant in the playoffs
First Allen has to play well for an entire season if price is hurt and what do they do about his back up? If price is healthy he has to play well for an entire season which I’m not sure you should bank your playoffs hopes on
Thirdly price has to be healthy come playoff time and then play out of his mind
I’m in no way shape or form doubting Carey Price’s ability to go on a playoff run if healthy, but he has to be healthy.
I just don’t see why an up and coming team with a lot of its core locked up, would take a chance on Price
As I mentioned above maybe in two trade deadlines or in two off-seasons when price has two or two and a half years then a team might take the swing
I just think 4 years is too risky especially for a team like Edmonton

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RobbStark03</b></div><div>So half the division was legit, and the other half sucked? Thats a scaled down example of the entire NHL, where half the teams are legit, and half of them suck. So we are we down playing the Northern Division?</div></div>
Was down playing it in comparison to our division, the Atlantic
We dominated Vancouver for a fifth of the season and had an extra playoff spot
Simply saying in a normal division we miss the playoffs and by quite a bit.

Montreal Canadiens - LeBrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RobbStark03</b></div><div>... I am willing to bet most GMs disagree with you and your idiotic opinion.
Substance abuse also covers pain killers, which goes hand in hand with battling serious injuries he plays through. Including dragging the same bottom feeding Montreal Canadiens to the Stanley Cup Finals. When Price empties the tank, he is almost unbeatable. In the regular season, he doesn't, and hasn't for years. Hence Allen, who has been standing on his head this season, and helped drag Montreal to the playoffs last year...
Edmonton does this, because no one in their right mind takes Koskinen and Smith over Price and Allen. Not to mention Toffoli is far better than the 2 cap dumps.</div></div>
never said smith and Koskinen are a great duo but 4 more years of price is a massive risk for an oilers team that doesn't need to risk it all to win today. they should definitely be looking for upgrades in nets but price isn't the answer
wouldn't call 11-12-5 with a 907 dragging the habs into the playoffs plus we only made it due to murdering the canucks all year and being in a weak division in terms of teams depth, yes Toronto, Edmonton and Winnipeg are legit but the rest sucked
Fleury, rask and Campbell are free agents next year unless signed before hand, they're are also trade scenarios for Edmonton that aren't for price
I guess your plan is when price gets hurt you pray that Allen can play strong enough that you make the playoffs and that price is healthy for the playoffs and plays out of his mind as he did last playoffs for the habs. If price gets moved I will apologize to you but until that day I am sticking to the fact that no sane gm will trade for price and the only chance is for a very desperate team like potentially Edmonton in 2 years where if they still didn’t have a solid goaltending plan and would swing on two years of price. You'd be sane wanting to swing on two years of price but not 4
I just don't see a team wanting 4 unstable years of goaltending. and I repeat once again I don't think Koskinen and smith are the answer
only time will tell

This is it for 2022
obviously still early but a few thoughts from my side
no Lambert? his point totals aren't great but his play outside of points is good and his skill is tremendous, hands, speed, agility and vision along with being a centre.
I do like some parts of Geekie's game especially his size, but I haven't seen enough skill to have him that high especially over Lambert and a couple other highly talented players
Nemec is very scary. he seems to force offence a lot and isn't elite at it while being lost quite a bit on defence . Ive truly really liked what I've seen from Jiricek, size, shot, physicality, calmness
I'm certainly waiting for at least the world juniors to make my list some what firm but these are some things I've seen
also clearly only top 10 but I really like Isaak Howard and lekeramaki

Who should be picked 2nd overall after Shane Wright in the 2022 Draft?
at this point in time id say Savoie. The combination of speed, hands, iq and being a centre throw him over the top for me. Lambert is struggling but with a solid second half could push his way into that spot. Both with fantastic speed, hands, vision and are centres
I really like kemell and Miroshnichenko but they are wingers and still have some unanswered questions especially surrounding consistency and play away from the puck. kemell been a beast but some goals are luck so id like to see more games and the u20 before id take him at 2

I know
But as I’ve stated before the habs are stupid and you and I both know deep down they the habs at some point will go on some sort of winning streak and end up picking 8
Off the top of my head
Wright
Savoie
Lambert
Kemell
Miroschnichenko
Cooley
Yurov
Lekerimaki
Howard
Nasar
Jiricek
Nemec
Casey
Geekie
Slavkovsky
Top 5-7 are pretty good especially if someone takes a sleeper
But I really like those top 3, Wright and savoie might be very strong down the middle, and if lambert can get going he’s a special talent
