New Jersey via SJ Trade
Just to make sure I understand, the Jets would give up a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick for a RHD who is turning 29 this offseason, who outside of one outlier season at age 27 last year in which he scored 40 pts, is a career average 30 pt player and horrible defensively, and will sign him to a 6.25 x 8 contract that will take him through his age 36 season, whilst already having a superior offensive RHD in Neal Pionk signed for 2.5 more years, as well as Nate Schmidt and Dylan Demelo on the right side? Trade doesnt really make any sense no matter how you approach it from the Jets angle.

Tor-Sea Swap
why on earth would the leafs give up 2 great prospects and a first (not to mention 2 solid of non essential roster players and another pick) for a guy whose at best a 2nd liner, a 3rd pairing defenseman and a 5th. Just awful value

Not sure it would relly happen
Out of all the Jets top players Connor seems the least likely to move due to his combination of good value contract and term, even if they choose to rebuild. The value is off but even if it was upped I dont see why they would do it.

You made this mirroring the value of the Tkachuk deal? So you believe that Severson is equal to Weegar and Bratt is equal to Huberdeau? Neither play is in the same stratosphere. Utter nonsense

Scheifele is a premier offensive center, bull**** temper your expectations, that offer doesnt come close.

TDL-22 V3
Hellebuyck at his best is a top 2 goalie in the league, and any day pretty comfortably a top 5 goalie. That doesnt even come remotely close. The jets simply have no one else who could fill the role so it doesnt happen, but just value wise you either give up Draisaitl or completely empty your prospect cupboards, Holloway, Bouchard, Bourgault, even with those three I probably want Helle more.

Deadline unexpected moves for Playoffs
Copp likely costs you a first and a good prospect (not a blue chip, 2nd tier), and I would love to move Wheeler for some prospects to free up cap space for our future contracts, but I doubt they do it because of his captaincy/history with the franchise.

Thats the only offer ive ever seen for Ehlers thats made be pause and genuinely consider it, but ultimately I pass. Ehlers is such a unique player, that transition skill is so coveted. Also doesnt help that while talented both Kakko and Chytil have had their growth stagnate, and the Jets arent exactly a strong development team.

Huge next couple weeks
These trades are all really bad for Toronto. A couple of bad first round losses to ****ty teams really warped a lot of leafs fans minds on what makes a good player. Trading assets for slow moving pylons who spend every shift getting hemmed in their own zone is not a recipe for success.

ah yes, the solid two way defenseman on a min league deal is definitely a cap dump. Give your head a shake and try all this again.

Laine to the Ducks
I neither know nor care who or where the rumor of three first round equivalent pieces as a return for Laine came from but frankly its both insulting and ridiculous. Laine's poor performance stretching back over 2.5 years means he is netting a fraction of that. Zero chance in hell the Ducks move McTavish for him in a 1 for 1 deal, let alone including a first. I didnt like it at the time but man am I glad that Winnipeg moved on when it did and somehow got PLD for him.

Offseason After Leafs Add Miller
Its pretty wild how Miller has become the most overrated player in the league by a mile over these last few months. Almost feels toronto media -esque to the extent which his value is being inflated. Solid top 6 player, but that cost, as well as similar costs being thrown around are outrageous.

Three way blockbuster -- NYR WPG VAN
its facsinating in concept but both major players the jets are receiving are free agents and likely wouldnt sign, and Kravstov may never come back to the nhl, so I would keep my players if I was the jets

blow this mfer up
Cool cool cool, the leafs take on two awful players as cap dumps, despite the fact that they are competing for a cup and not rebuilding, whilst also PAYING you a premium to acquire them instead of accruing assets. Also 4th liners (Motte) apparently go for 3rd round picks now?

because the team is constructed well and doesnt require a burning down every offseason???

why on earth would the leafs trade Muzzin (who is better than petry, especially this year) for Petry who is two years older and signed until he is 36, PLUS two other assets. This must have been made by a Habs fan

The Complete Refresh
Toronto and Winnipeg would never make those deals. both teams are competing and dont have the cap space to spare for cap dumps, even if you incentivized them with picks instead of reciving picks. But that in and of itself doesnt make sense because the Coyotes are rebuilding and have no need to dump any contracts. this is like year 1 of a 3-5 year reset. buckle up
