Yeah, a lot of teams are gonna be in on Roy, but I think that in the end, he comes home.

I wrestled with this one a lot. Talbot is rumored to be asking for a lot of money, and there have been frustrations with Turcotte. This is admittedly the biggest swing I took, so I'll totally take any criticisms of yet. Glad you like the signings.

The Yzerplan Is Expired
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>If it takes 8-10 years to rebuild a team in today's NHL you are doing it very wrong. It should take a max of 5 years, first two years should be the sell off aquiring as many 1sts and 2nds as possible and finishing in the top 5-10 of the draft. Next 2 years should be the development years (finishing 10-16th in the draft) each year building on the next with your top prospects already securing roster spots. Final year is the filling out of the roster, signing FA's, trading for veteran leaders with playoff experience (preferably former cup winners) and proven playoff preformers. This 5th year should be the first taste of the playoffs either as a WC team or 3rd place divisional leader. The prospects are so close in skill these days and the development departments invest so much time and money that it no longer takes a prospect 4-5 years to be NHL ready, even lower round picks start taking roster spots in the first 3 years now.</div></div>
That's not true at all and it depends on the team also lottery luck. Yzerman took over in 2019 with a ton of bad contracts and an empty prospect cupboard. It takes time to build through the draft and you can't hit on every player. Your timeline is extremely unrealistic.

Ullmark to Detroit
Hi it’s me again. I have a hard time making the case for Detroit doing this. There are some problems:
1. There is a hidden cost in getting out of Ville Husso’s contract. Detroit probably has to give up a draft pick to get out of his contract which adds to their overall acquisition cost of Linus Ullmark.
2. Detroit has major work to do this off season. They have 5 unrestricted free agents that need to be retained or replaced and Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider need big time contracts.
3. I cannot see Detroit giving up any kind of significant treasure for a goaltender on an expiring contract when they have what they think is the goalie of the future (Sebastian Cossa) in waiting. You may not think he’s the goalie of their future, but they have to think internally that he is.

IMO Necas is worth about the same as the Cat maybe slightly more
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>Necas had 4g - 5a -9p and played 17:32 min a game
Guentzel had 4g - 5a - 9p and played 19:58 min a game</div></div>
I'd rather have Guentzel signed for 8 more years + a 1st + whatever else the Canes get for Necas ...
instead of just Necas + a wave goodbye to Guentzel when he becomes a UFA on July 1st.
The Guentzel-Aho-Svechnikov trio was by far Carolina's best line during the playoffs and I'd want that chemistry to carry over into next season as well. .
Also, for what the Canes traded away for Guentzel at the deadline, I'd want to accomplish more with him besides a second round exit.
But that's just me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Wings keeping Kane and Ghost
If Ghost wants that much money he can get it somewhere else.
Sprong won't be re-signed.
Holl will be bought out.
Soda will be in Grand Rapids.
Mazur and/or Kasper will be promoted.
Johansson is out of waiver options so he'll be on the team.
I wouldn't count out Danielson making it either.

That's crazy for Berggren, don't see him getting more than 1M.
I know alot of Wings fans would like to see Sprong re-signed but I think he just prices himself out of Detroit, he would be stupid to not cash in after this season.
Those differences should make up the money needed for Raymond and Seider.
Would like to keep Kane but he might want to go to a contender if we are out of it by chance.
I hope we can move Fabbri in the offseason.

Steve Yzerman has completely lost his mind
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wingsfannn</b></div><div>This team is going nowhere , can’t score squat those bottom lines won’t do anything. Everyone knows how strong the east conference and he somehow made us worse than we were
Amazing stuff by Yzerman and not in a good way</div></div>
Sprong and Kubalik both droped over 20 goals and 40 points last year. Trust, this bottom 6 could be solid.
I actually don't mind any of these signings.
Holl 3 x 3.4m is solid.
Sprong 1 x 2m is very good.
Kostin 2 x 2m is on the steep side, but he is BIG and did well in Edmonton.
Compher 5 x 5.1m isn't crazy. He is a low end top 6 or high end top 9 guy. Considering he is a centre, this is what he would cost. He is a very very good #3C, who can play in the top 6 if needed.
Reimer and Lyon are both on great contracts.
Just be patient to see what he does to finish off. He is building for the super long term. He put in some decent pieces today. But the offseason is not done.

I don't think it's true, their core is being built and lots of those prospects have already been sprinkled into the lineup, add Kasper this year and Edvinsson full time. Little by little it's happening. This to me is better then rushing the rebuild like rangers and leafs did personally

I know the 2023 draft is deeper than the 2017 draft, but >6 years in Michael Rassmussen is an NHL player... but if you could trade him for Cat you know you would in a heartbeat. Sometimes there is value in the sure thing. IMHO, DET could use a little sure thing right now to support their good prospect pool as they look to make steps in a difficult division.</div></div>
You're using Ras as an example, which is a really poor one. That was a historically weak draft.
Cat is not worth the 9OA this year - simple as that.
