Lol did we not learn to not try to trade dadonov to Anaheim? Already failed once, second time isn’t the charm. NTC.

What Anaheim Could Have Been
With some adjustments this could be right. I think we should have sent Montour over Theodore to Vegas. Someone had to go to move stoner. They believed Montour had more upside. I also think the Vatanen deal makes a lot of sense. Without him we are really weak in the middle.
Rakell - Getzlaf - Silfverberg
Ritchie - Henrique - Kase
Jones - Steel - Terry
Deslauries - Grant - Rowney
Lindholm - Manson
Theodore - Fowler
Petterson - Vatanen

Imagining a Rakell trade from Zucker
I like these overall as far as value goes. But my scouting is pretty limited on most of these clubs except maybe NYI.
I have a constant debate in my head of if I rather lose Rakell or Silfverberg, before it was always Silf. But hearing him talk the other night made me realize what a solid leader he's become. Rakell I think is still the best offensive player we have. And I would love to seem him play with Zegras. So I think between Silf and Rakell, it has to be Henrique... Love him but Silf and Rakell are too valuable to the future.

No one is calling him the next Gretzky so calm down. Maybe he could be the next Getzlaf if we’re lucky. But I’m just trying to be excited for the future cause the ducks best strength is their prospects. I’m not dumb enough to think tournament success automatically equals success. Terry was also a beast in WJHC but hasn’t found success yet. While Gibson was dominant in WJHC is arguably the best player on the ducks. But he has been an offensive force so far. He drives play, he’s really creative with the puck, he’s got great hockey IQ, and sees the ice really well. Reminds me a lot of Getzlaf or Toews.

I definitely think it was one of his best games yet. I still think Steel has a roster spot on lock. So maybe Rakell/Lundestrom/Silf then Ritchie/Steel/Kase.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Lines don’t really matter. This team can’t score.</div></div>
They matter a little. It's not gonna save our team. But i feel like chemistry is a factor. Tons of missed passes, out of place and out of sync plays, multiple guys chasing the same puck rather than getting into a place to receive pucks. The two guys I always see in sync are Rakell and Silfververg. I think its important to have pairings to work with. Kase and Ritchie have been a decent one as well. I thought Shore and Grant and Rowney had great chemistry during the start of the year.

I agree with most of this except Grant. He may have some numbers to improve on, but he's been the most effective 4th line center we've had in years.

Agreed. This isnt EA NHL. You can offer "value" with enough parts but in reality this doesnt make the Stars any better. This is like a rebuild trade and a bad one at that. For Benn you're giving up a Terry or Comtois at the very least with a 1st and another roster player.

Yeah I think just a thought process here would be nice. Seeing "Outside look at lines" with no explanation feels like someone looked at the positions people play and placed them based on their salary or name recognition.

I don't give Kreider 6 years. That's keeping him until he's 35. We've already been down that road (see Perry and Kesler). Unless that contract is front loaded, its bad value.

Sundays lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheJoeMan</b></div><div>I think Steel is best utilized at center though I get the impulse to give him a better opportunity being on the top line. I think Shore has no place on this team. Not talented enough to be a top-6 guy and not fast and gritty enough to be a bottom-6 guy. Comtois brings the most effort and generates the most chances of our young guys so I wouldn't take him out of the lineup. He can swap with Jones though. I'm starting to worry that kid just doesn't have the hands for the bigs.</div></div>
Shore was one of our best players in the first 3 or so games. And then has been on a steady decline since. I think he's a decent 2 way guy and decent PK guy, but couldnt agree more that he has no place in the line up. As far as the kids go, I think they are going to get there. But they just arent there this year. The confidence and the skill just arent there. Jones could be really effective if he made smarter plays and stopped trying to either make the quick choice just wrong choice all together. Comtois and Getz are really fun to watch together so far. I think Ritchie has been better on that line that he has in awhile, but he's not the right guy. Not sure who is though.

Terry is Getz Jr. Tries to do too much with the puck and wants to drive play, but he hasnt figured out how to make plays with the puck yet. He cant pass as well as Getz and has more than good enough of a shot that he should take more. I think he got really discouraged early on because he hit so many posts. He absolutely needs a message or a good scoring game to get his confidence.

Being Progressive
I would absolutely love to see it. People can talk about what "hard hits to a female player would look like" but Alex DeBrincat is 5' 7 and 165lbs. Hilary Knight is 5'11 and 172lbs. I think she can handle a hit better than quite a few guys in the league. I think the style of play is slightly different, but the same could be said for guys coming from a lot of European leagues. They tend to hit less and skate faster there, and the large ice plays a big factor as well. It would probably make sense for her to debut in the AHL for a good while, but I would love to see it still.
If not, I would love to see her in the org in general. If we arent ready for our first female NHL player, our first NHL assistant coach would be awesome as well.

Kind of crazy to think we traded a good RD in petterson for Sprong, who is now in the AHL. I would gladly take Petterson, Montour, or Vatanen back.
The saddest part is Gudbranson is so statistically bad that Holzer would actually make more sense playing with Lindholm.

Agreed. RD is a bigger need. I think we are still lacking a true goal scorer, though Rakell and Silfverberg can surprise at times. But if we don’t get our D figured out Gibson will be exhausted before the season is half over.

I think a prospect a roster player and a pick would be a good balance. Mahura + Ritchie + 3rd or 4th. I don’t think they want to move sev unless it makes the team better. Especially since it’s still early in the season.

Agreed. I think him or Simon Lundmark could have been good RD pick up as well. Either made more sense in terms of need. I do like that LaCombe looks like an offensive beast. I think when we comes in around 2021 or 2022 he could be a real impact player and could compete for a spot. But between the current roster of Fowler, Lindholm, Larsson, Guhle, Mahura all being on the left side, its not a matter if, but just who and when.
My guess is if Guhle really fleshes out well, he could just replace Fowler all together.

A first and one of top prospects or our top prospect #9 pick plus a 2nd rounder? That seems a but much.
I think a 2020 2nd round pick and comtois is decent. But I would add in either conditions or an extra pick. Like if Benn scores 30 goals the pick turns to a first.
I think Benn is a really good player. But I also think he's played on a good team with another really good player. He and Getz would play well together, but not better than he does with Seguin. And his bad relationship with the owners is never a great sign.
Also I would give like pretty much anyone on the roster for Seguin.
