We are VERY deep down the middle, both with what we already have & with what we have coming
There just isn’t a fit AT ALL for JGP
Top9 Centers are Thompson, Mittelstadt & Cozens
And we aren’t bringing in a $5mil 4C
U can see how that doesn’t make sense for us, right??</div></div>
Yea definitely, but would you be willing to move Krebs since he’d be stuck on the 4th line? Would Bolduc or Wahlstrom and a pick do it

So with that logic would you be open to moving Krebs since he has no way up the lineup? Maybe for someone like Wahlstrom and a pick

Yea I was just thinking that the Sabres probably want to start winning soon so Pageau would be a great veteran to help anchor them down the middle and idk if Krebs would get a shot higher in the lineup cause you have more guys coming up into the lineup soon

Yea and the Isles I think should be looking for a high end prospect if their gonna trade him rather than B prospects and a 1st. I’d like Byram a lot for this team

I would absolutely do this as an Isles fan but I doubt Lou trades Nelson unless we tank til the deadline. I don’t know if Lou physically is capable of selling cause he’s never done it before. I also don’t know how realistic it is to trade Byram who’s a key part of their cup run

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snowhawk18</b></div><div>The blueprint is there to follow from last offseason, the Islanders sent Bailey and a 2nd round pick to Chicago for FC. He had a $5m cap hit for one more season and was owed $3.5m in actual $.
Now Palmeiri is a little better player but he is still a $5m cap hit for one more season and is owed $5m in actual $. The fact that he is a little better player is offset by the additional $1.5m in actual $ owed.
So in order for this to happen Palmeiri and a 2nd to the Hawks for FC should get it done.</div></div>
I understand how you could see that but Bailey was an actual liability. Palmieri is still on pace for 50 points and plays an important role on our PP. He probably won’t get much in a return but he is definitely not negative value.

I would still do that trade as an Isles fan. If we can get anything for Wahlstrom it’d be great but the Isles have completely destroyed his value. Wahlstrom has definitely struggled some, but the Isles have let him down more than vise versa.

I highly doubt the Isles trade for a RD especially after signing Mayfield long term. It’s not ideal but he’s a lock in the lineup for at least a few years.

Yea I’d probably see that as more reasonable that eating half his contract. I still think you’d have to retain at least 1 mil maybe 2 tho to get any deal done.

Second, his production before he got hurt was in line with the last few seasons; he's not really a 10 goal, 40 point guy anymore and hasn't been for quite some time. Third, the Isles value what he does do and are very unlikely to trade him without a a substantial overpayment. Fourth, he has a NTC and by all accounts likes being on Long Island.</div></div>

Pulocks would go for way more than that but he probably doesn’t get moved anywhere cause of his NTC

I would assume the Isles selected Barzal cause they knew that Dobson would get voted in anyways where Barzal would’ve been less likely to get voted in.

He’s gonna end up #3-5 in the Norris at 23 years old. He’d absolutely get 3 firsts but it’s pointless because the Isles wouldn’t trade him. I’d probably say he’s the most untouchable player on our team.

Isles aren’t paying to move Palmieri. He’s actually playing well and his chemistry with Nelson and Palmieri is very noticeable. Plus he’s on our PP1. He’s a player worth his 5 mil cap hit unlike others on our team.

Islanders have Barzal, Lee, and Horvat who are better than Kuzmenko.
Why would the Islanders need another winger?</div></div>
Isles need to improve their 3rd line scoring this year. And Lee would stay on the first line this year because of his chemistry but next year I could definitely see Kuz join Barzy and Bo.

Yea, I agree there aren't too many holes especially if there aren't any more injuries. If Parise doesn't come back I wouldn't mind adding a 3LW, but other than that we may actually keep our first round pick this year.
