Bennett would be really interesting, and he'd fit well on this roster, but I doubt Florida moves him. Think they'll just find a way to dump Hornqvist and then their cap issues are solved.

Wild pass, I don’t think there gonna give up a decent prospect and a second for Bennett.

I like Sandin but we'd be adding if he were a piece and we already have a ton of LD in our system. They don't own a 2nd this year but Dumba with retention for Kerfoot and a 2nd doesn't seem too far off.</div></div>
I know, I've had the same thoughts. I can't find anything that really enthuses either team, but there's probably a lukewarm package that works for both parties. Like you said, Dumba with retention for Kerfoot + futures piece is a pretty conceivable framework.
I have a hunch that Guerin and Dubas have had a few things they've kicked tires on - Dumba, probably Talbot. They seem open to business if there's a fit.

I'd be really happy with this and I'm not even a Gopher fan. Don't think the Leafs do it though, Knies is probably their best prospect.

Opening Day Roster
Billy apparently isn't interested in Rodrigues. I don't really see the point of moving Hartman away from the top line, he fit really well there last year so we may as well try it again to start the season.
I'd actually rather play Jost with Rossi and Boldy if you want to give him more of an opportunity. Could be a fun line.
Are Greenway and Merril scratched because projected to be out of the lineup to start the season due to injury...?

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>Yes. Better at everything.</div></div>
For now.
It's a bit subjective to say that Kerfoot is definitively better than Jost.
Jost is slightly less than 4 years younger than Kerfoot. He's also an inch taller and 2 lbs heavier. Their numbers and stats aren't too dissimilar over the last three years except for barring this past season when Kerfoot had a career year in points and stats.
There's a legitimate case to be made that with a legitimate chance and a full season next to better talent in a top-six role for Jost, that he could become a much better player than Kerfoot whose career year came next to better players in a 2nd line role last year.
https://frozenpool.dobbersports.com/frozenpool_compare.php?players%5B%5D=4516&players%5B%5D=3759&period=2021-2022%3AR%3A99
Of particular interest is the 3 year comparable and player usage chart at the bottom, with seasons set to all... not just the 21-22 season, to get a better sense of which player is better.
The data suggests that Jost has better underlying numbers and that he could flourish with a bigger role with better linemates if given a chance for a full season. Such as his higher shooting numbers and having won more faceoffs than Kerfoot despite having a lower faceoff percentage.

Canadiens
If you click on the tab at the top of the page marked “Teams,” then click on the line marked “Minnesota Wild,” you’ll be taken to the page displaying all of the Minnesota Wild players under contract. At the top you’ll see three lines in capital letters, the third of which says, “Projected Cap Space: $4,313,079.” A little below that, in smaller but still capital letters, is a line that reads, “Roster Size: 20/23.” These two entries tell you that the Wild have 3 open slots on the main roster and a little over $4.3 million in cap space with which to fill them. Now how do you think that affects an offer of Brendan Gallagher and his $6.5 million cap hit?

Fiala replacement
I like Necas but I wouldn't deal Faber for him since we need a defensive RD a lot more than we need another young forward. If we wanted him I think we would have had to have dealt Fiala for a package that included Necas. Think both teams probably say no here.
The most realistic "Fiala replacement" is probably Miller, but it's going to take a lot to get him and he'd likely just be a rental for us.

No thanks. Zucker would be stuck on our 4th line, we also can't afford him unless we make another trade which doesn't make sense for a player we don't really need.

It is unclear whether or not that is true, as he was under an exemption for military service so there would be no need for him to have the military ID - unless it was like someone in the US who wants to have on to drink, etc. The whole situation is very merky, however it has been confirmed that he was able to leave the country twice to try and come back to the US through Dubai and an island in the Caribbean.

Maybe, but I have yet to see a single fanbase that that's offered something interesting that would do it for us. And I have my doubts that Guerin will receive such a offer either.

Guerin will likely tell him if he wants one, he better earn it over the course of the upcoming season. And if the team's out of it by the deadline, he can get delt somewhere else if he wants.

We're not, not necessarily. It's merely a question of cap space, which we only have $1.4M left of, after re-signing Flower. At $2M×1 for a solid bottom 4 D, Kulikov is an easy move to create cap space.
Which is why we wouldn't retain, it's counterproductive to what we're trying to accomplish.

It makes sense, people who work had and have good work ethic are generally successful in all professions, even if they may not have the most talent. Any good manager will tell you they'd rather have someone who may not be the most skilled for the job but works hard and is willing to put in the effort to figure it out than someone who is skilled but lazy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I really like the idea of surrounding Rossi with two big wingers. Puljujarvi just hasn't been able to unlock that offensive potential in the NHL but we all know he has it based on his season in Liiga. I like the idea of buying low, if Talbot wants out we're better off making a move like this than getting a 3rd or something next year. I'd prefer to swing higher on someone like Necas (or Dach before he was moved), but Puljujarvi isn't a bad option, we could definitely use a right shot player who has scoring potential.</div></div>
I think his size, effort, and straight-line speed would be a great fit with Boldy and Rossi!!
