Ready for the season
I like POJ but I think we would rather keep Zadina and see if he can develop into something with a new coach.

its a fun idea, i know. Avs fans would like that to happen as well. But to my original point. Macks drive to rival sids cup count is there, he wants a career as good as his idol, hes too yong to be worrying about playing with buddies and just to have fun.

Love the idea of Sid and Mack playing together; just can't see it happening either way other than on Team Canada

Is Scheifele possible
With Dubois saying he's leaving in 2 years max, I believe Winnipeg eill make a push to re-sign Schiefele in order to not lose both their top 6 C. I do have a couple doubts about them willing to move from Schiefele and Dubois both in the next year unless they go compelte rebuild and also move Hellebuyck.

The usual rebuild. Trading lots of long term cap to teams that can't afford it. No much respect for players NTC.

I wanted to quote a little higher. I'm a worst-case kinda guy with putting things together. If they have another million to spare then good, they can leave that space for a deadline move or call-up.

Who else likes this trade idea
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>You're utterly failed to take into account the significant discrepancy of age, cap hit and term between Kapanen and Geekie. You completely ignored my note "when you factor in age and contract differences." Even their productivity is closer than you'd like to pretent: Geekie had 22 points in 73 games while Kapanen had 32 points in 79 games getting 2 minutes more ice time per game, and there are certain subtle indications that Kapanen played on a better team than Geekie.</div></div>
I didn’t utterly fail to take into account those things. I’m just logical and know it’s irrelevant. Let’s start with the age aspect. They are literally only 2 years apart. Let’s not act like there is a 10 year gap. Both are still incredibly young and just entering their prime. So you’re just wrong to say there is a significant age gap.
Now the cap hit. The difference in cap hit is only 1.8 million. And that could be less next season. That’s not a significant difference.
Now for the term. Geekie is on a 1 year contract and Kapanen is on a 2 year contract. Again not significant.
Again I didn’t ignore anything. It was just a baseless and irrelevant argument to make.
And no their production isn’t close. The one pretending there is you pretending it’s closer than it is. But anyways, it only proves my point that in a career year for Geekie he was still 10 points less than Kapanen who had a bad year. When you take pts/60 Geekie had 1.4 to kap’s 1.7.
And if Geekie is playing 2 less minutes per game on a bad Seattle team, what do you think he’d get on a much better pens team?
So long story short you’re argument is silly considering you’re claiming Eberle is much better than Zucker even though Eberle is older by 2 years, has more term on his contract, and only had a .2 pts/60 advantage while playing like 3 minutes more per game than Zucker and arguably played with better linemates than Zucker.

Eberle >>> Zucker

Joseph doesn't make up for the discrepancy</div></div>
Ummm Geekie most certainly doesn’t equal Kapanen. Kapanen is definitely much better than Geekie. Geekie isn’t a great skater and an ok 4th liner. Kapanen is a solid middle 6 winger.
Eberle is definitely better than Zucker but it’s a stretch saying there is a large discrepancy between the two.
This trade definitely favors Seattle with POJ added

I think Demko will be able to carry the nucks in playoffs this year. I'd take the gamble to put them above LAK.
I'd switch Nashville and St-Louis.
Also I'd bet on one of Sens/Wings being above the bruins.

Zucker - Kapanen - POJ package ideas

I dont think I could disagree more POJ is on the same level as Vaakaneinen, He isnt even enough to get me to take on Zuckers contract let alone give anything up for that package
ANA easily declines the OPs trade, and the one you suggest.
The same arguement against Muzzins value is there for Zucker, there are realistically 5 teams that can take Zucker on without sending cap back. ANA, ARI, BUF, CHI, DET and Zucker has no-trade protection so that makes a deal even harder to do.
POJ doesnt really fill any need we have and he would have to battle to not be in the AHL with us, even long term he might not be good enough to crack our NHL roster
I dont mean any of this to sound harsh if it does, just trying to explain my reasoning

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Imagine875948</b></div><div>Tyler</div></div>
Hmmmm... Idk. If Johnson for Zucker is pretty much a wash, then Kapanen and POJ might pay for the upside and affordability of Kurashev. In that case, it would probably be fine as it stands with no additional pieces. But, I don't know how high CHI's front office is on Kurashev. If they think he could be part of the future, it might take more to get Kurashev away from them. Plus, there is the obvious logjam of left handed defensemen in CHI, which makes acquiring POJ kind of a pain. Zucker isn't really flippable, even half retained. Kapanen I think might still have some un-tapped potential if put in the right situation and finds some chemistry with the right players. So, I'll stop talking in circles, because I really don't know. But that trade is probably pretty close as it currently stands.

Obviously Pittsburgh has to add to the Habs deal, we ate taking 8.2 mil and only sending back 6.6 mil. Montreal can't afford this to begin with so the deal doesn't work but even if it could the Pens still need to add.

Can’t see Columbus making that move tbh, they don’t really have the extra cap room for Kapanen and have no use for a LHD, Not sure I’d do a Nyquist for Zucker swap, as Nyquist’s 53 points in 82 games the last 2 years is better then Zuckers 35 in 79 over the last 2 years.

Habs have a surplus of wingers and LHD, we don't need to add another one. Also, Pitlick ha a really good contract and can play on any line, I'd rather keep him. Fair trade tough.

In-Division trade to a team desperate to clear space? Yah... not feeling that one.
In the hockey sense... even as an Isles fan... that's alot to give up for Pageau in return.... even if it's because you can't afford them.

Personally I wouldn’t do that. A fourth makes sense to me. A 3rd is too rich imo. But if the isles need a Mayfield replacement and Hutton doesn’t get a real chance then I’d be interested in Ruhwedal.
