Eastern Conference Final
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>squashmaple</b></div><div>I'll be perfectly happy with 80 points next season and sixth in the Metro. Anything more than that would be amazing.</div></div>
I am calling an 85 point season but ending up punching a few wildcard teams out of their spots like Pittsburgh late in the season because the team will be seasoned by this point. Remember we are still waiting for a few of the kids to be fully ready (Mateychuck and co) so its coming probably next year. Remember Jersey went from the cellar to the top of the standings as their kids got more and more experience.

Would either team do one of these deals
First one is more viable but everything out of the Vancouver market has Peeke in this trade setup than Boqvist which would probably be more in line with what y'all are looking for. A 3rd paring Dman who knows how to take blocked shots and can move up to play decent in the 2 or even 1st line shifts if needed due to injuries.

Possible Opening Night roster
Like I don't doubt for one second that Fantilli will be 1C by Christmas but lets be honest here...Babcock is the coach and he's most likely our 3C opening night spite people losing their minds about it. He'll probably take 2C by Halloween though similar to what KJ experienced last year.

Sillinger - Swayman base trade
The problem isn't the trade as I would be listening to this option...its getting rid of Elvis for future considerations and not paying assets to dump him elsewhere. I think Elvis is due for a comeback season but I personally don't care for his style of aggressive goaltending personally.

The most obvious trade
Unless he get a buyout Gudbranson is going to stay in Columbus for the forseeable future, especially with the NMC. He was brought in not so much for his play but as an enforcer/player coach for a young locker room. Teams really value that spite and I think people on sites like these forget about how important locker room presence is and only focus on the on ice ones. My guess he will play 24-25 season then buy out year 4 as by that time Jiricek should be good and ready with the RHD1 with Cuelmans potentially coming up as a RHD2/3. Then Gudbranson most likely then joins Dorsett as part of the player development team as I am sure Rick Nash is going to become GM and Jarmo moving to operations...you can't tell me that he's low key being groomed right now with all the media appearances he made this summer as he's usually really reserved but that's my conspiracy theory.

Swapsies
We already three potential 3Cs on the third line. Even if Voronkov plays LW we still have Sillinger, McKown and probably Fantilli to start at 3C though I expect he moves to 2C by the end of October. This trade offer isn't that bad of idea especially after some of the other offers I seen lately here and especially from a PK side of things but I don't think Sillinger is gonna bust out to where a move like this needed.

GOD I FEEL SO DIRTY FOR THIS BUT
Roslovic+ Bemstrom and if they need additional flavoring throw the 2024 3rd round pick

Arizona playoff push
I would take that for Peeke as that's a fair value. The problem is I think we should be keeping Peeke over Boqvist because I rather take the shot blocker than raw offensive talent from Boqvist but that's just my take. Also keep the faith Arizona y'all are cooking and be back in the playoffs soon maybe just not this year.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dekes</b></div><div>I feel like you are selling short on a lot of the contracts.
No shot Johnson takes that deal at the pace he’s at he most likely get a 5 mill minimum bridge deal. I bet they might even try a long term deal at like 7.5x7 in hopes that they will have a steal of a contract for the future
Doubt Provorov is resigned I feel like he’s a bridge dman for mateychuk and Svozil.
But again contracts aren’t close to what those young guys will get. Morgan Geekie just got 2mill as a player who played 4th line for Seattle and has middle 6 potential.
All the RFA’s you signed expect mckown have top 6 and higher potential so I’d assume all them get 3.5-6 mill bridge deals with how much cap goes up and how young guys are getting paid right now.</div></div>
The Current "meta" is to lock down your good young players to long term deals. Watch KJ or Marchenko get a 6.5-7.5x7 this next summer

With Fantilli we are not going to spend an 8x8 on a 2C in 3 years time. If it was Will Smith then the deal would had already happened. Gudbranson's money times out when we need to pay Jiricek which appears to be the original plan so Jiricek gets Gudbranson's pay in 3 year's time.

Its the same thing with Vancouver when thought they were going to get 2 1sts and A tier prospects for Horvat. A Lindholm trade, based on the current trade market, will look like a 1st Round top 10 protected pick, (Chinakhov/Texier/Bean) and LDBB

Please, name one time in history when two 20-year-old top-6 picks were traded in the same deal. You can’t. Gretzky brought back a former 2nd and a 7th, and that’s as close as you’ll find.</div></div>
Actually got looking the other day there hasn't been a massive blockbuster trade in the past 4 years involving multiple 1st round pick equivalence with the exception of Tampa Bay taking advantage of a Chicago team fire selling for Bedard. People need to realize the era of the massive blockbuster trade is over and we are not going to see "I want your best 4 prospects for our star player" anytime soon, especially under a flat cap situation.

This doesn’t say there’s an extension in place. It doesn’t say he wants to stay in Anaheim and will negotiate once traded. So I’m not gonna assume anything. Normally on here people say extension in place because that adds to the value.
i go 100% off of what it says here. Relax</div></div>
It's also just good asset management. Lets be honest here the ducks are not going to go on a deep playoff run right now while they are trying to get out of a rebuild. Why burn off several key prospects of one year of a great player with no commitment of retainment. Its just a problem here on this board, and with some teams more so than others, they just view others as feeder teams to their franchises.

He's actually done alot of growing up the past few years which is saying something. It was his idea to try the center idea and he actually seems motived now since last summer. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until he starts to act out. Everyone here in Columbus thinks its Roslovic that is gonna get the boot due to his attitude and dumb on-ice moves that's going to get him ran out of town. Personally I can't wait for the first non-look pass from him in the neutral zone that gets a turnover for a goal for Babcock to run his a** out of town.

This is probably the best true offer that CBJ can get this summer for Boqvist. Personally I am on the feeling that Boqvist, not Peeke, is gonna be the odd man out and this is probably still going to be a 33-40 pick though I am not dismissing Arizona outright as y'all are going to be better like CBJ you all still need some time in the oven.

At 1.2 mil for 4 years of a buyout you don't burn resources especially a high end prospect. Gudbranson is there as an enforcer/leadership role anyways, he will probably be bought out eventually when FO agrees we are ready to take the next step but that's probably not until next year.

brodie shipped out
Just curious I have been seeing alot of Nylander for Peeke swaps is there something going on in your local media pushing this? Personally I wouldn't be opposed to the idea but I rather counter point with 2025 1st overall as he's a rental we really don't need just yet but I can see him being a valuable TDL swap option this year for us. I think CBJ fans are more on board with moving out Boqvist than Peeke at this point ironically though I think we all want to see Jack gone, still this isn't really in our best interest with the current stage of our rebuild as we are trying to move to the next step. That being said as long as you don't mind a short bench Toronto can make their cap work now and don't need to throw the baby out with the bathwater at this point.

I legit can't think of another one...Giroux and Boston Lindholm are the only ones I think that sent out extensive resources but didn't include 2 1st round picks and 1st round equivalents. The more I think about it Lindholm might not bring back that much outside a mid late 1st, an A tier prospect or under 24 regular player and a 2-3 round pick if this happens. Looking at equivalent trades lately a Lindholm trade would look like either 2024 1st top 10 protected + Sillinger or 2024 1st top 10 protected, a 3rd and Texier/Chinakhov

Its the Horvat situation all over again. Vancouver was convinced they were going to end up with 2 1st round picks + additional premium prospects for a 2.75mil former captain who was one of the league leaders in scoring and had decent metrics.
