Yeah I’d 100% do this although I’d assume it’s more likely Leo or hickey going back than cal but that’s not really a big deal

Given the sharks lack of depth and talent I want to counter offer
Meir for
Okoposo
2021 1st
2022 1st
Holmstrom
The salary evens out you get rid of a cap issue get a top 6 stud and we get enough to start our rebuild.
That’s a lot but the 22 2nd is upgraded for the cap dump.</div></div>
Assuming you meant Ladd instead of okposo since he’s on the Sabres but I’d do this on the spot I’d guess isles would have to throw in more to take back salary tho

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>I personally wouldn't do the trade save for a grade-A prospect coming back for Meier. Sharks have actually a decent amount of decent young players/prospects. They severely lack in blue-chip prospects like a Dobson Wahlstrom or Sorokin. Any of those 3 plus a 1st gets it done.</div></div>
I just don’t see a single one of them getting traded and I get that if that’s what y’all want there just wouldn’t be a fit here tbh

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RawZuccSauce420</b></div><div>Good start but I would probably want more value here. Skarek isn't a good prospect, so no real need for him. I like Wilde, so that's a solid add. You're gonna have to help me with Bellows because I don't see anything special there statistically, but I also haven't watched him at all. Isles777 mentioned Simon Holmstrom and that would probably be a difference maker to be honest.
My ideal counter would be Wilde, Holmstrom, 2021 2nd (COL), 2022 1st (NYI). Might be overkill but let me know.</div></div>
Bellows was more of a throw in since he doesn’t have a spot on the isles and won’t- he’s got talent but won’t get a shot here cause he’s not very defensive and now an older prospect very boom or bust.. I’d probably try to top 3 protect the 1 but wouldn’t be make or break to me assuming it happens at the TDL I’d take that deal

They’re in such a bad spot with their terrible contracts I feel for their fans that’s gonna be a long rebuild

My thoughts too but I’m biased cause I prolly overrate our prospectors a bit/have an east coast bias and wanted another perspective

trade deadline statuses imo description
I think there should be a section between all in and buy a little that contains the Panthers/WPG/PHI and maybe a few others like the isles that’s buy larger (top 6f/4d controlled for 1 1/2 seasons+) long-term additions instead of rentals

Sergachev
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ZiggyPalffy</b></div><div>There's a rumor that the Kings want a "dynamic LD 25 or under"
I don't agree with it though(assuming its true) we could use a more experienced and good defensive LD to play with Doughty, but we need a dynamic RD 25 or under, not a LD. Roy is doing a good job, but he isn't a #2 on a contender(when we are) and he won't be the guy to replace Doughty some day.
I suggested Ekholm and Fabbro and it got mixed reviews.</div></div>
Ahh I gotcha makes sense appreciate it thanks!

There’s an overpay then there’s mortgaging literally every young player and valuable pick you have away

Yeah I’m pleasantly surprised his skating looks real good right now too hopefully keeps up his play style

I think it was trotz who said lee lost a few pounds and worked on his skating to become more deceptive. He looks like a different player this season. Obviously his contract won’t age well, but for the time being he’s living up to contract.</div></div>
I mean I’ve been of the opinion his contract won’t age well too but if wahlstrom pans out on the path he is now at the worst case you’re looking at a guy in Lee he’s gonna bury a vast majority of wallys rebounds obviously will never be a line driver but I think the contract still has potential to age fine now

I’m assuming they’d want one of our defensive prospects instead of leddy (who we dump elsewhere) cause they’d be signaling a full blown rebuild at this point

I wish but Bellows is gonna be unprotected so they’d just take him straight no chance we can dump hickey and Leo w him for only a third more likely gotta add aho+late rounder on top

If buffalo goes into a full blown rebuild then this+isles send prospect(?) and no retained salary actually could work since they’d be free in 3 years from the cap instead of 7 although I think skinner has a lot left in him and is just in a terrible situation

deadline Nashville mates
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Isles777</b></div><div>so we traded toews for scraps and now we're talking about giving up a 1st + two of our top 6 prospects for Ekholm. Just awful asset management, at this point just give Aho or hickey a shot. Trading a 1st for a Dman is reckless with the situation the isles are in.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AndrewLadd</b></div><div>I agree w this, an ekholm trade is nice in theory but if it were to happen it’s pretty much impossible to justify trading Toews</div></div>
And for the love of god this teams issue isn’t defense if they’re going after anyone it’s a winger.. I get that Andy Greene isn’t ideal but doing anything more than something like a 3rd or late rounder for a depth dman would be insanely reckless at this point
