It's an Eichle type return you're delusional to think it's not even a step.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lancebmx</b></div><div>This is bad for both teams</div></div>
Not overly it's a bit of a steep price but Edvisson comes up in a couple years if not next year and the left side gets better.

FA signings are almost always overpayment. Could count the amount of reasonable payments in a off season probably with one hand.

Next Year
Straight-up don't like any of the trades for Detroit. Why are we buyers when we are a year or two from playoff contention??
Only trades I could see happening in the next year is us still selling off. If we are below 500 at TD don't be shocked if more current roster players are gone (Bert, dekyser, leddy)

Horvat was the one who said he has no interest in being in a rebuild, Pettersson has just said he wants to win. Plus even if they do trade him, it's gonna be more high-end prospects i.e. Zadina, Hronek</div></div>
Being that I live in Vancouver and heard both Pettersson and Hughes say "we do not want to go through a rebuild" prior to signing their contracts (which are noticeably short) I'd say.... they don't want to go through one.
However I am going to fix the trade to include Zadina as I believe the price would be similar to Jack Eichel

I'm guessing the trade would look something more like Zadina + 23 1st + 24 1st + good prospect or young player (Veleno/Berggren/etc).
Speaking of... where's Zadina in this roster?</div></div>
Forgot to resign him tbh.. wouldn't say no to him being sent outta town too.

The way i look at it for taking eriksson and virtanen, 8.55 millon in salary, that equals the 2022 first round pick. so that means larkin for 9th overall pick in this draft, dipietro (who i agree really good goalie prospect) and a 2nd round pick. if detroit trades larkin they might as well firesale anyone over the age of 22.</div></div>
Marc stall fetched less return and has less upswing than Virtanen, I'd argue that the salary for a year is higher but after 1 year it comes off the books but the potential for Jake is worth more

Why if I was Yzerman I'd take it, it would add to the wings talent pool allowing them to go heavy into the defence and goaltending prospects this draft, momentarily would hurt Detroits ability to win games now and sell tickets but with the new draft lottery odds it isn't a bad thing as the next phenom will be up in a couple years with Connor Bedard and I'd love to see the Wings get him.

Weaponizing cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rpain</b></div><div>The OIlers have very little interest in moving on from JP unless return is significant. Oilers are thin on the wings and he's a young cheap top 6 winger. I think a 1st with Neal is as high as the Oilers go for a dump, more than that and they just buy him out. I think I'd have time for TJ at 50% retained but wouldn't be giving up a JP to make it happen.</div></div>
Would equally take another draft pick or 2 if they just wanted the Neal dump +Johnson. I am more looking at cap numbers for Edmonton being the deciding factor more than locker room chemistry and lines

Weaponizing cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rednwhite</b></div><div>I like the trades but think Tampa would have to give more to make it happen. Also the cap hits for vrana and hronek seem a little low.</div></div>
Yzerman has already proven to be a stickler for spending money I think Bertuzzi's will be near spot on, Viana could command a tad more but I doubt it in only a 11 game sample
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>redw1n9s</b></div><div>It was fine until you included Puljujarvi. And VAN doesn't need to shed Eriksson this way.</div></div>
Vancouver also is shedding virtannen as he has regressed this year and total would clear 7+mill all for a second round pick.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy12Bob</b></div><div>Detroit would get Alnefelt, Puljujärvi, a late 1st and a very late 3rd to eat $19 million in cap and $18 million in real salary.
I wouldn't do that deal unless I was offered the double in return.
That cap can be used much better.</div></div>
Possibly but I think the Marc stall trade for cap really set the rates and I think this is probably close to what could actually happen we fans value players and draft picks differently than the gms so I really don't know...
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gmonwy</b></div><div>I doubt oilers use Puljujärvi to dump Neal. Him and McDavid had amazing Chemistry IMO this past season</div></div>
Johnson would essentially be replacing Puljujärvi and with both Puljujärvi's salary and Neal's gone it would free up a bunch of cap in Edmonton. Player for player +draft pick for dump.

I wouldn't do any of your signings, Filipina and Neilson aren't bad players just not top 6. Veleno has been very underwhelming in his growth, him being in the big club hurts us more than val or frans
