<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J2W</b></div><div>Montreal probably says no. They have a good number of RHD prospects around Andersson's age and guys like Fleury look good, so he doesn't really fill a need for them, so unless it is a guy like Fox it doesn't move the needle much valuewise for Montreal. With Bennett's best season putting him at around Danault's level and the numbers being worse the last 2 seasons he has the value of a 3C, again something Montreal has. Brouwer is a cap dump, a 4th liner making 4.5 for the next 2 seasons can't be called anything else. Maybe the value is there for Weber between Andersson and Bennett, probably still off but it is a starting point, but it doesn't get you retention and dumping Brouwer's contract. Weber with retention likely starts at Bennett, Kylington, and some picks, if picks are off the table discussions might even start with Valimaki instead of Kylington. If a prospect is going to be the compensation for taking Brouwer instead of a pick the conversation likely starts at Phillips. Tl;dr MTL likely asks for a LHD not a RHD and dumping Brouwer will cost extra.
The Buffalo deal looks close enough that the only details to get hammered out would be fair value for 5 seasons of retention, likely a couple of late picks or one middle pick, a 3rd rounder maybe.
The Ottawa deal might be fair but Stone is such a big part of the Senators that he isn't going anywhere unless it is a massive over-payment.</div></div>

Most Flames fans would roast me for this, but if subbing Fox in instead of Andersson is what it took to get the deal done, I would do it.

And yes, Brouwer was 100% a cap dump. I would add Mangiapane to the deal for taking him on.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>J2W</b></div><div>I didn't actually know the Blues depth chart, this is just from guys who are represented on this site. What do you think of the lines I have up there BTW. Galchenyuk was solid with Byron and Radulov before he got hurt last year, so I put offensive downgrade but defensive (maybe) upgrade Lehkonen with him. I hope Danault and Barbashev flip by seasons end but a know more about Danault when he is healthy. Plekanec is a place holder and hopefully traded by seasons end but that isn't important to this exact trade. Also I don't know if Hudon replaces him or DLR/Froese/A.Shaw.</div></div>

this took me a bit to ponder

id put Drouin on Chucky RW as he is best on his off wing (dont know why drouin just is ) plus he can help chucky with faceoffs

so i guess i would go based on chemistry and the face Hudon is our best possesion forward bar none and draws a lot of penalties i like keeping him with Gallagher
because the more they play together the better Hudon becomes all around .

Byron-Chucky-Drouin
Hudon-Danault-Gallagher(when theyve played together this year they have been fast and good agitators )
Lehkonen-Shaw- Scherbak(hoping they click if not move up shaw again)
Deslauriers-Barbashev-Carr
Froese(Froese i better then L.Shaw or DLR as 13th forward as every game he is given he plays like his last digging out pucks and paying the price for Deslauriers and Carr to score )

that only covers about 2600/4000 between top 3 centers
but between Drouin ,Barbashev ,Hudon and Byron we should be able to get 1400 faceoffs (drouin with about 600,i would lay about 300-400 on hudon via special teams PK primary center and 400 between byron and barbashev )

ideally i would like to move out byron because until we moved out moen , weise didnt step up , until we moved out weise byron didnt step up and until we move byron someone else cant step up .
i would like to move byron out and promote Lehkonen to top 6 bringing eller in to player third line with Barbashev on his LW transitioning him to center like he started to Chucky as adding eller helps our faceoff issues and our youth WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY more then Plekky because he is Coach Eller and because of his dad he just knows how to make all those around him better .

as far as D you nailed it
id leave benn up top until Mete is ready and Jerabek is so good on his offside its illogical

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ricochetii</b></div><div>This might give an idea, if you're using Kessel as a comparison. It's not exact, but should give a ballpark idea, then you can tweak around it.

Spaling: 3rd line C. Flipped for two 2nds and Torres. (along with Polak).
Kapanen: 1st round pick 22nd overall. Ultimatum from Toronto was no kapanen, no deal.
Harrington: 2nd round pick 54th overall. Flipped along with a conditional 5th for Rychel (1st round pick 19th overall).
1st and 3rd round picks.

Toronto retained (approx 7M total), included a 2nd, Biggs (22nd overall "bust"), and Erixon (23rd overall "bust").

Montreal:
Pacioretty (4.5M total retained)
2nd in 2018
McCarron
De La Rose (next closest 1st round "bust")

St Louis:
Thomas or no deal (Montreal's ultimatum)
Gunnarsson (closest to Spaling, might be able to flip for a pick)
Vanelli or Walman (closest to Harrington)
1st in 2019
3rd in 2018

Not an evaluation, but a comparative breakdown.
The reality is, the other pieces can fluctuate, but Montreal would probably go somewhere else if St Louis wasn't willing to move Thomas. If that means no deal, so be it.</div></div>

TMLs shitty drafting isnt PIT fault tho they passed on
Namestnikov and Raekell to pick **** picks that isnt on PIT

also pass on Thomas

Barbashev is ready now plus we get a prospect with similar production to Thomas at the same level
plus he was getting at STL being ready to pony up some depth prospects and picks to get a 30 goal scorer for 3rd line
i am pretty sure or thats what his description reads .
