Shatty TDL Discussion
That's 2x Shatty has screwed us (last yr vetoing the trade to EDM for Hall and now the Tampa deal which included Johnson I do believe). Anyway, extremely doubtful NYR gives up Buchnevich, Not crazy about the TOR deal although I think you're definitely in the right ballpark, the BOS deal would be a steal but maybe a bit too much of an ask, and the Tampa deal isn't enough IMO. If I'm trading with Tampa I want a Johnson or Palat coming back. But I agree, get it done already (I hear EDM and MTL are aggressively pursuing as well. That just gets better for us Blues fans)

Realistic Deadline
Really not sure if Duchene is that much of an upgrade from RNH, plus adding all the rest. I think the oil would be more interested in a third line center like Hanzal or Berglund.

Wideman-Pens deal
I definitely wouldn't be surprised if this happened, but if you're trading with the Pens why not sweetin the pot and go for Fleury. Even retaining 30% of Widemans salary is costing the cap heavy Pens nearly 1.5 million (which I'm not sure they have). So maybe Wideman, Elliott and Jankowski for Fleury. Something like that.

Blues Redone 2017
I heard Montreal was in on Shatty, but I can't see Galchenyuk being part of the deal (plus re-signing him next yr for 5-6 would be really tricky). I think the ask would be Danault and probably Juulsen or Scherbak. Just my thoughts though

All in
Would definitely be a solid team. The only prob would be re-signing Radulov (who's prob gonna ask between 7-8) and Markov would obviously have to walk, but it's a very solid offer

Where will Shatty Go?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AK_tune</b></div><div>I still think the ask for Shatty is unreasonable. IMO he should fetch two of the three parts, but not a top prospect, regular young D, and 1st RDP.
The way the Blues are playing, they'd be wise to keep Berglund unless the return is significant. De Haan would definitely be worth it, but I doubt the Isles would do it.
Good thoughts though; strengthening LD and getting returns on UFA rentals would be smart. But winning playoff games is just as important as building for the future at this point. It's a very weird situation: an inconsistent team that is finally playing consistent hockey, under a new coach, in a playoff spot but with no expectation to go beyond the first round, and with valuable future-UFAs. And all of this after losing the captain and a clutch playoff performer to FA last year... should be interesting.</div></div>
The DeHaan situation is interesting because the Isles may lose him in expansion. I think we all know, after losing Fabbri for the year, that we don't have the nucleus to win the West. Chicago looks like worldbeaters right now, The WIld have been so good all yr, I just believe it is too soon to compete. I'd be happy to be wrong, but I don't think so. Come expansion time, I would definitely protect DeHaan over Gunnarson and Bouwmeester.

I think Winnipeg seriously considers this. I would nix the Dallas trade, have Halak going to WPG and add Enstrom coming back to NYI</div></div>

Asking price is never the final sale price. Have people never bought a car or house? Sakic has no reason to deal these guys now, which is why he is asking the moon.</div></div>
There are bidding wars for houses, AND you are asking Sakic to settle.

Dream Offseason
ok, the flaw here is that these trades don't happen until the 2017-18 season, so you are protecting 2 Wild d-men that you haven't acquired for the expansion yet. Also, as much as I love Buff, I can't see you prying 2 of these d-men away from the Wild, who are rolling right now. The Howard trade is quite intriguing though, as it definitely addresses the goaltending need in Wpg.

protecting Stempniak and Brodziak? You must be kidding. I'd definitely be tempted to also not protect Stastny or Bouwmeester...and Jaskin would get plucked by Vegas long before Gunnarsson would.

something different
I actually like the Hornqvist deal; the other 2 don't make a lot of sense. Islanders aren't paying for Grabbo (being on the LTIR) so it makes little sense to trade him and a high pick for a lower pick. Jurco hasn't done anything to date and Strome is just having a tough year. I doubt the Isles would let him go for that. Like the Hornqvist trade though (not on the 4th line though)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NateElder12</b></div><div><i>Absolutely awful trade. Coots is worth more than Fleury and Mase/Fleury is close to a wash. You can't seriously watch the Flyers and think the Coots and Hanzal deals are even close to realistic/good for the Flyers. Getting fleeced.

I disagree wholeheartedly, and when Mason walks we have that 4.1 mil to spend on a backup and defensive improvements.</i></div></div>
This team is worse than the one we have.. by a lot... defense is trash, goalie is like Dallas 2.0, and offense is weaker - plus Lyubimov rarely plays center</i></div></div>
It's a shame you don't like the defense because, with the exception of hunt, this could very well be it next yr. Coots is decent, but he's overpaid and he's always hurt. I can move Lyubimov to the wing if you like...I'm not unflexible
