But you're way too much focussed on just cap hit. That contract for Lucic who is a 3rd line player in the best scenario is truly awful. But paying a backup in the NHL 3M in salary is terrible too. Which owner is like: sure I'll pay 3M for a AHL backup because you wanted a 7th round draft pick which will not help the team in any way. It's not about an owner being cheap but about a GM who has to be kinda responsible with the money of the owners, which is not throwing away 3M for absolutely nothing</div></div>
Idk what team you're a fan of, but I know that Vinik, the Lightnings owner, would not hesitate a second to pay what's nothing for him in order to help the team in any way.
Datsyuk was a 7th rounder, no? So was Palat. Just two off the top of my head.
If you're so fixated on that 7th rounder, make it a 5th or 6th, who cares. All those picks are super close in value anyways.
And something else you willfully ignored: if he's traded around the deadline, it wouldn't even be those 3M but less than 1M.

Provide some facts/stats to support your claim or otherwise the only "hot garbage" here is what's coming out of your mouth, pal.

Any proof for that claim? Because he isn't .
Actually, last year he's been negatively impacting the NYRs PP according to statistics. So would actually make double the sense to use him ES-only.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>WellIDK</b></div><div>The Condon contract is in a way similar to Lucic because of its salary structure (3M salary this year). He'll be the 3rd or 4th goalie on any team in the league. Rebuilding teams won't take the contract because of the salary and the relationship with the owner (edit: owners don't like it when you waste 3M of his money on a nobody). Teams who try to make the play offs won't take that extra 1.325M cap hit. 1.3M is never meaningless in a cap league. For example, your team wouldn't be cap compliant. Look at how many teams are in cap trouble right now. This 1.3M would also give you less flexibility at the TDL.
Nobody will take the Condon contract unless you really help them with either a solid prospect or a way higher draft pick than a 6th and 7th</div></div>
Not every team has Melnyk as an owner. Esp if we move Condon more towards the deadline, there's isn't a ton of cash left to pay. And this wouldn't be the problem anyways.
And let me repeat once again: there is no need at all for TB to trade Condon. If they do, fine. If they don't, they have easily enough cap room as well.
Comparing it to Lucic is really comical. Lucic has like 4x6 left. Condon is at 1x1.3 if buried in minors. Not. Even. Close.

It's literally meaningless 1.3M dollars. Tons of team have enough to take that for just 1 year and would do so if they get a pick for that, imo. Which is what happens here. You act like this is Lucic's contract or so.
And if he stays, won't hurt TB too much either, we'll be fine, regardless of whether Condon and his contract stay or not.

Well, it's alright, it's just the typical "Leafs fan is posting a ridiculously Leafs favored trade"-thing that most ppl are annoyed by, I guess. No hard feelings personally, mate.

Believe me, I know Vladdy well, I've seen him play a lot. He is alright if he's on the right line (as you see, his lone good NHL season came on a line with Kucherov and Stamkos).
But PHI has no need for another 3rd liner, esp at that price. Again, no way in hell PHI actively pays to take Vladdy, call him cap dump or not.

Doubt he gets a lot of PP time. Hedman is on PP1 obv and my guess is Sergachev keeps his PP2 spot. And TB usually goes 4F-1D. I think Shattenkirk will pree much play ES only.

Well, the first thing is: The chance TB trades Stamkos is like 0.1%. Why would they? He's their franchise player, their captain and signed to a good contract. He has a NMC and I doubt he wants to leave.
Even putting all this aside, I can guarantee at least 20 teams would put forward a better offer than that. If you're trading a superstar, you're not looking for quantity. Quality is the thing. Try sending sth of actualy quality back. If you want Stamkos, Makar or Byram are your starting point and you add from there.

TB would probably actually do that. I like Point over Gaudreau personally, but saving 2-3M a year for the next 3 years while getting a comparable player + a pick might be worth it.

Let me ask you this:
MacKinnon and Donskoi for McDonagh (and he's at least a couple tiers above Johnson), Joseph, Stephens, 1st 2021, 2nd 2022, 3rd 2021. Do the Avs say yes here as well? :)

Leafs don't do the Zadorov trade, tho. Muzzin is better than Zadorov.
And if Marner would sign for 10M, this would long be done. Gonna get more.

This is the way TB usually handles their RFAs. They did it with Kucherov, Johnson, Palat, Vasilevskiy...
Kucherov got 3 years at 4.7M. I'd say 3 years at 6.75M is fair for Point then. Then he can really cash in in 3 years from now.

Actually, Tyler Johnson is from SPOKANE, Washington. So the Caps have nothing to do with that lol.
And if Schenn plays first pairing, we don't even have to try winning a game this year.
Domingue should fetch more and def from a different team, PIT has no need for a goalie. Try FLA, COL, CBJ or NJ maybe.
Erne will get a bit more, too, probably.

The "out of SJ thing" is pretty much confirmed already. If at all, you could say "not going to TB for a pay cut, he'd rather go to DAL, CHI or whoever".
If he wants the best odds at a cup, a 2 year, 12m deal is a very fair compromise for Pavelski and TB, imo.

Maybe inform yourself about contract length before answering posts negatively....both Pavelski and Barrie would be UFAs next summer and therefore TB would have more than enough cap space to re-sign their key players. Without even mentioning the possibility of trading someone like Killorn etc.

Haven't read that on Pavelski yet. I feel if it's about winning a Cup for him, then 1 year 7m with TB is awfully enticing for him. Can still easily sign a 2 year contract after that, he's not slowing down yet.
As for Stralman, he'll certainly get financially better offers. But so would have Coburn. And he re-signed for 2 years @ 1.7m. Just me hoping that Stralman likes it here and takes less to win a Cup. Could easily replaced by a UFA D, too.

I like it in general.
Couple things that could be improved, imo:
1. We should not be as close to the cap as we are in that scenario. 300k leaves no wiggle room for call-ups bc of injuries or a deadline acquisition.
2. I like the trade and Faulk is a great addition, but I fear we'd have to add sth to make CAR take the deal.
3. IMO, there is no way Point gets more than Kucherov's 9.5M AAV - even on a long-term deal. But if I had to guess, I'd say he signs either a 3 or 5 year deal anyways.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zwui21</b></div><div>The part I don't see happening at all (even tho I'd <strong>LOVE</strong> for Tampa to be able to get him back) is Vegas trading back Gusev's rights to the Bolts. Sadly.
But then really like the fact you moved Johnson and Gourde. It would be important for us to trade Gourde and not JT Miller, just because Gourde will get a NTC come July 1, while JT Miller will only have a M-NTC (allowing us more cap flexibility in the future if needed).
Probably if we'd really like to pull the Karlsson trade it would be better to trade one of Killorn and Palat too already, in order to clear cap for next years RFAs and replace the one you trade with either another rookie (Verhaeghe?!) or a 1 year veteran.
What I'd change is the Martel signing: Volkov is ready to play with the big boys</div></div>
Well the hope would be that he doesn't wanna play for Vegas but rather with his good friend Kucherov. So this is just me writing down my dream scenario, but it's not impossible: If Gusev tells VGK he won't sign with them and will head back to Russia, I think VGK getting a solid 3rd liner in Erne, a solid prospect in Somppi as well as a 2nd and 6th rd pick should be a lot better for them than Gusev leaving for Russia for nothing. But yeah, most likely won't happen, obv.
