Cup Run 2019-2020
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>Well I took a look at them, and honestly all of these trades except the Ghost one has the same problem - the team trading the D needs that D more than they need Drouin.
I guess that some teams have also noted that Drouin has a bit of an attitude problem. He lacks hunger, as you said in the description of that post, and back in TB he asked for a trade just because they sent him to AHL to develop his game. It's a gamble to take a player like that to your team, even if he's skilled.
If you ask me, Brodin, Brodie, Murray and Ghost are your best bets. Teams like PHI and CBJ are your best bets since they actually have a good slot for Drouin, PHI can definitely use him a 2nd line winger and CBJ could use him as a replacement for Panarin.</div></div>
Alright that settles it; conference call between MB and Chuck Fletcher, let's get it done hahaha.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BurgerBoss</b></div><div>Well there's several of them, like Nurse, Brodie, Murray or Brodin. Players like Fowler and Vlasic could technically work, but they have NMCs or NTCs on their contract</div></div>
Brodie I like (depending on his $$$ next year), Fowler I like as long as we don't overpay. I really don't want Vlasic's contract and age, if I'm moving a young forward I want a young D-man. Nurse I don't think is attainable, Brodin/Murray could work, but there's better out there. What I think it comes down to is what else you're willing to move. Personally, guys like Lehkonen are untouchable due to work ethic and grit, so to get that LHD that can actually play top mins I think it'll come down to Drouin + picks, I throw in Reilly's RFA every time cause he's a joke and I want him gone lol.
I made this <a href="https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/213353&post_id=798554">https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/213353&post_id=798554</a> a few days ago it's just different Drouin trades that I think are possible, any of them look better than Gost?

Do you have any others that come to mind? Obviously the main pieces being Drouin going one way and a top LHD coming the other way.

Fair enough, traded updated. What do you think now?

Yeah I agree, I just tried to make as many somewhat realistic moves as possible.

I would put Lehkonen instead. Sell hi.</div></div>
It did come down to Lehkonen or Byron for me, I think age and trade value we're the main factors that would push me to trade Byron, I'll ask you too, if you don't think Maatta is worth it, who else?

I would say there's only one player who is a better PP + PK guy in the league than Byron and it's Mark Stone, the reason I'd trade him is because he'd be playing in the bottom six for us and his value would pull in a solid LHD for Petry to play with, if not Maatta who would you target I'm curious

I love Byron but, we're talking about a 30 year old, bottom-six Paul Byron for a 25 year old Top 4 Olli Maatta

I think Edmonton has a really bad system for developing players, unless they are McDavid-level talent, they can't see to get it right. While I would agree that Puljujarvi > Byron, it's not working. At some point or another Edmonton has to make a change, taking on Byron could help that. Also, I think Larsson will never be able to play there and it's not as obvious that Larsson > Juulsen as there isn't enough data to make an argument for either side. That being said, the pressure on Larsson is extreme in Edmonton. The pick (if you read my description) is bonus because I do realize what I'm asking from Edmonton. Although, Edmonton seems to be in a 10 year rebuild whereas it took Montreal 6 months, so maybe this kind of shake up is what Edmonton needs.
