FINAL moves
Benning might be the top RD they have. The point I'm trying to make is that the package there probably wouldn't be enough. You'd have to overpay above his value which doesn't make sense for you guys.

I'd take that from the canes perspective as long as Martinook was replaced with like a 2nd/3rd pick or a B prospect. Marty's one of those glue guys that brings more value to the team than they can get in most trades.

meiers return will only be less than cat because of who is trading for him, as in late first + a great prospect < than top ten + early second + early third. People really think they can get meier for a bunch of depth pieces

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JNoons13</b></div><div>Timo had a slow start to the year, so that plus his $10M QO lowered his price tag but he's only gotten better as the season goes on, if he isn't moved soon the price is going to keep rising.</div></div>
he had a slow start due to an injury, take the first 9 games out and you have a guy who has an insane stat line 36 games 26 goals 18 assists 44 points. In comparison both Fiala and Debrincat are producing far less showing Meier is clearly a better player, plus Meier has 3-4” 20 pounds on both and is just as fast. if he doesn’t return more than Debrincat sharks shouldn’t deal him.

I have not heard that rumour but it surely doesn't sound right. Meier and a certified stud. Add another 1st and you're getting close.

I agree, this to me is fair and possibly the best return we probably get for Meier. I like Dufour and Bolduc and both fill team needs while also providing us 2 decent picks to further add to your prospect depth. Losing Meier will Hirt but this sets us up better for the future.

1. It fits my narrative. (Snarky response)
2. Someone will need to take salary back from NJD to make the deal work and I can see them retaining on other players (Bonino & acquired Tatar) they may consider moving.

Make yourself a hot cocoa, put on a rerun of the 2018 cup finals, it’ll all be okay. Players have bad games. This trade could cripple WSH for years.

Buddy, you’re missing his entire point. He’s talking about for cap reasons. Sharks literally can’t take him, it would give us zero cap flexibility and another big contract. We would need to resign Bordeleau and Eklund before that contract is over

You think trouba is better than Karlsson? Yikes. Sharks don’t want his cap hit and really can’t afford it, not at the cost of a likely high 1st round pick. Trouba also has a no move so I highly doubt he accepts this lol.

A younger point per game player with another year before being an rfa is somehow a top 10 pick plus another puck less than Miller is FAT stretch. Meier being the better player is more feasible than saying he’s that much less than Miller.

Sadly there's always that one team that ruins it. This year it was Florida.
