Unless there is a giant jump in cap for 25-26 you'd have very little to re-sign Hoglander, Boeser, Boqvist. Would be tight.

Not a Ducks fan - but I'd have to imagine it's something like Boston's 1st + good prospect(s): Kleven, Jarventie, etc. + probably one of your AHL goalies. If it's after the draft it gets a lot harder because neither team would probably want to acquire future Ottawa 1st (unclear future in OTT).

I could see Harris as an Englund replacement at their 3LD spot. Englund sucks.

I don't care how good he is now, there is more than a 50% change Saros will be worth significantly less than $8m in the near future. Goalies are unpredictable and weird, man.
Also there's a reasonable chance Couture never plays again, and if he does, there is no way he will be a 1C in 2025.</div></div>
I agree with you 100% that goalies are crazy weird. I figure they’ll sign someone though.

Could definitely see that happening, you can substitute anyone who you think they may be paid to take in Henrique’s spot.

For all the sellers
I've come to many of the same conclusions when thinking about what this team might do. Realistically, they're not trading Crosby, and as long as he's there they're not trading Letang or Malkin. And you can't start a rebuild and keep those guys around. Guentzel and maybe a few other small assets are the only moveable pieces.

It's really all gonna depend on Landeskog's health. I tried to make one for this team but struggled because of that. I like the Lindholm fit that some people suggest, but find it hard to believe they pay such a price for him if there's no space to re-sign him.

It just barely ever goes well for 18 year olds in the NHL that aren't named McDavid, Matthews, or Bedard. Take Sillinger, Slafkovsky, and Kotkaniemi for example, none of those guys should've been playing at 18.

I honestly just did it as someone to take up cap space while being somewhat capable of playing at the NHL level, something that CHI is lacking these days. Hardman just goes the other way to balance out roster slots.

Granted I don’t watch much Seattle or Vancouver hockey so maybe I’m just some idiot who thinks he knows what he’s talking about but from what I can tell (pretty much solely based off points and contracts) Wennberg is the better player.

Before this season I’d definitely agree, but his play (perhaps influenced by the team’s poor performance in general) has really dropped off, at least in terms of points from what I can tell. They’ll have a lot of cap space so odds are he will get more than what I listed regardless.

Not Their Year
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KrakenTheCode</b></div><div>I appreciate you knowing that even if Seattle ends up selling this deadline it will likely be a soft sell of rental players with an eye towards reloading for next year, instead of a full teardown involving the selling of key players. Kudos!
Some minor feedback on your trades: While I would love to get a first rounder for Eberle, I don't really see that happening unless he picks up his scoring. Right now, I'd peg his value at around a second round pick plus a decent prospect/young NHLer in need of a change of scenery. The return on Wennberg might be a touch optimistic too, I would say he nets a second rounder but maybe not second and third rounders. I think you have about the right value on Schultz, although with him being half retained I think the Kraken might be able to extract a halfway decent prospect in addition to the third round pick, but that's a minor point. There's a lot of time left between now and the trade deadline though, so player valuations could easily change as we get closer to deadline day.
As a Kraken fan, this is a lot better than most Kraken ACGM's that I usually see on this site, so once again, kudos!</div></div>
Thank you for you honest and kind feedback. It was a nice breath of fresh air on this site. I completely understand what you’re saying for each point, but my reasoning essentially boiled down to the fact that deadline deals tend to have inflated costs (hence Wennberg netting a 2nd + 3rd). And I definitely agree on the Eberle thing and I probably would’ve chosen a second round pick if Vegas had one that wasn’t gonna be pick #60-64.

If Seattle wants to sell I'd love Larsson though.</div></div>
I think calling Wennberg a “marginal upgrade” over Suter or Blueger is quite the insult to Wennberg honestly. And I’m really not gonna say much about it other than go look at their points totals over the last few years.
Second, I do agree that Larsson would fit well in VAN but I’m unsure if they’d be looking to sell guys with multiple years still on their deal.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SpinyLiving</b></div><div>Eberle isn't worth a first round pick, plus Vegas would want retention</div></div>
I added 50% retained, and Eberle with deadline inflation value is definitely worth a late first, I would say an early second maybe but Vegas doesn’t have that.

They would with the way I have to deal laid out, one of Blueger or Suter going the other way and half retained.

Absolutely Stacked Come Deadline Day
Doubt either team would do that. Ottawa is so many years into the rebuild that they need to have some skill on the ice. Also, Ottawa is very close to the cap so I couldn't see them taking on a Goodrow dump.
Novak has blossomed into a great 2C for Nashville so I find it hard to believe they'd sell him off when they're trying to re-tool. Then again, they've made some questionable moves recently that has me questioning their direction (i.e. Duchene buyout)

Even worse than now! I don't mind the defense, and I agree that Reaves and Klingberg have been duds but Domi has been great recently and the current third line of Robertson - Domi - Jarnkrok seems to have some nice chemistry.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marked_Difference</b></div><div>Why Forsling? I don't mind his game and he is a serviceable NHL Defenseman but I am curious your thoughts on how he would add to the AZ roster?
Moser is criminally underrated. He is a guy that should be locked up for 5-6 years and if we can do it for around 4MM a year it would be amazing. He is the guy that goes over the boards every time there is a superstar on the ice and he generally neutralizes them during their shift.
A lot of the 2 year contracts for the AHL/fringe NHL guys should be shortened to one year. Keep em hungry.</div></div>
Admittedly I don't watch much Arizona hockey so any judgements I have made could be in poor taste. But, ultimately I went with Forsling mostly based off the fact that I believe that he is a reliable somewhat young two-way dman. Most of the other UFA dman candidates will be 30 or older, and with Arizona likely having some money to spend, I don't think it would be wise to give an older dman a big contract when you are likely multiple years away from being a real playoff threat. I'd have to agree with you on the Moser take, I just thought that maybe a bridge until his last year of RFA eligibility would be in the best interest of both parties.
