Lets say for arguments sake that Harris is worth the high 2nd you have Calgary including in that trade (which he's not). In what world is Matheson worth Markstrom 50% retained for 2 years?</div></div>
When people put values into pick and young players they need to keep one idea in mind. Will that pick give me more value ?
Right now Harris show great progress while being a #5-6. Will the 3rd round pick or 2nd round gives you a #5 D ? Generally no. Harris value is more at the end of a 1rd pick.

definitely, we see him as untouchable, was reported by 2-3 beat reporters that a team offered a top 15 pick for him and MTL said no. He has a unique set of skills that would be dumb to sell low with his current hockey mileage. Give him 200 more games and we see him as locked in top 4 LD.

because he is not ? Unicorn player, hardest slap shot in the league, die hard habs fan since he was a kid, die for his teamates, scare factor, Front net presence is good, first pass is amazing, physical beast, hit like a truck, only 23 years old, started hockey later in his life and has almost no hockey mileage. 240 6'4 player who has a great speed too
Do you start to understand the potential now and why Habs LOVE him see him as untouchable ?

I tried a Matheson trade, they value him as a 2nd lol, not worth it. GM knows his value more than those forums
I would pacakge a Matheson + Newhook + Prospect for Necas but the cap is a problem too

Not sure I would trade a top 7 pick this year for a 60-70p. top 10 pick is out of the table, but you have the replacement with Newhook, and Roy is showing insane potential right now. JArvis goes on the 2nd and Newhook/Roy on the third

same, MYsak has a nice scoring touch that unlocked this year, I'm guessing the Ducks were high on him

a Defensive stay at home will definitely not have a stellar GF... like I said if you use him well he will be good if he stays at home. I dont mind keeping Savard, I would move Matheson over him and most of the fan base is the same. Wonder why ? because with every players he plays he makes them better. Savard is really built for series and use him as your advantage, not as a transition D.
HE clears net well, forecheck well in his zone, physical and probably the best shot blocker in the league. We really don'T mind him saying because like I said he is making his partner better.

Habs trade for lHeureux
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pdunham</b></div><div>Savard would be an upgrade on Schenn, but an upgrade over a 3rd pairing D isn't worth a 1st round prospect that is ahead of schedule in terms of development. L'Heureux is 3rd in scoring among all rookies in the AHL and the organization seems pretty high on him.
Return on Savard is at best a late 2nd round pick to mid 3rd round pick in my opinion. With Del Gaizo and Stastny (Preds D prospects in the AHL, both 23 years old) both looking ready to make the jump to the NHL I can't see the Preds being in the market for D anyways.</div></div>
jsut to add, and I agree with you, Lebrun just came out saying Carrier is being shopped right now. Who would fill that role if Carrier is traded and Schenn goes on the 3rd pair

honestly, Defensively he is not that bad, he is not a liability but IMO he is on the PP even with his points, his hckey IQ is not the sharpest and he shots a lot before thinking of passing it.

he really is not... he just plays too many minutes at 26 ATOI.. which he is in the top 10 of minutes for a D. will end the season at around 50p too and really good in transition.

Too much quantity and not enough quality for Zegras.
Roy should be in the top 6, Newhook sucks at center and Dach is too injury prone to be relied on as a 2nd line center. IMO Habs should look into bringing in another top 6 center (maybe PLD, Lindell or Zegras)</div></div>
Dach injuries are not related, he got hurt on in his hand and now its his knee (first time) he is not injury prone
