Why Does Everyone Hate Zegras
“<em>If you want to skill it up, be prepared to be punched in the mouth</em>”
-- Yotes announcer (exemplifying Zegras hate, in a nutshell).
Zegras is not for you if….you prefer to watch a bunch of big bodies bounce into each other….you cringe at skill plays taking a larger share of highlight reels….if you see hits, even from top six, as key to success.
Zegras is for you if…you need to open up the ice…you have shooters, need feeders….you enjoy a good magic show from time to time.
How many guys can you count that have but a team on their back and carried them to gold at world juniors? Zegras has eventually exceeded expectations at every level he has played…and is still a kid. He will likely have multiple 100-point seasons in his career and people are offering dog biscuits for him.

Ignore the age difference and the fact that Rossi is where Pinto was going into last season. I would strongly consider not arguing with someone who's entire argument is based on stats. Rossi isn't even the same player he was last year, the difference is night and day between this season and last. And they don't understand that because they don't watch the games. They just look at stats.

Selling high on Montour and more youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>I can see Tolvanen being a 30-40 point guy. A quality 3rd liner on a contender. I’m not as familiar with his game as I am Sprong’s. I find Sprong replicating this season very unlikely. He’s not trusted by NHL coaches because he doesn’t do much without the puck on his stick.</div></div>
That's probably fair. Sprong worked hard to improve his defense ahead of this season but goalscoring will always be his calling card as a player. This year he was a key depth scorer but was a bit streaky to the point where he was scratched for a time after Tolvanen forced his way into the lineup. If the Kraken wanted to improve their forward corps this offseason I could see them selling high on Sprong to bring in a true difference maker.

I like Lundestrom so I'd look at a deal like this. To be honest it would be absolutely perfect if it was Garland + Myers instead. I'd do that without even taking a pick back.

My preference is to resign DeBrincat to be honest, vs. Trading for 2 pending UFAs.</div></div>
Tkachuk is a 100 point player that was 24 years old. Cat has never hit 80 and would be 26. The Tkachuk trade isn't a good comparison. The best comparable trade for DeBrincat is probably DeBrincat. A 1st + at the draft. Not two core pieces on a contender. That's not happening.

According to Chris Johnston
They will be able to maximize LTIR now once they place Liljegren on LTIR

</div>
If a team is under the cap prior to placing the player on LTIR, then the LTIR pool is the injured player’s cap hit minus the team cap space available at the time. For example, if a player with a $4 million cap hit goes on LTIR, and their team has $100,000 of cap space the team’s LTIR pool would be $3.9 million ($4 million-$100,000). Because of this, teams often make several roster moves right before a player goes on LTIR to be as close to the cap as possible to maximize their LTIR Pool.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>Every 1st round pick traded from now on should have protection with the new lottery rules. Since you can only win the lottery so many times you shouldn’t move a lottery winning pick. Top 6 protection should become the norm unless the pick is needed to be that high to make trade value fair. Even if the team is a Cup contender they should add those conditions just solely based on the .0001% chance.</div></div>
But do the lottery rules apply if the pick was traded, I honestly don’t know, I get why it would and wouldn’t count.

Fowler - Manson/Cernak
Hague - Drysdale
Vaaks - Shatty

The best way to see if the money works is using the trade machine.</div></div>
