<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jakem139</b></div><div>I mean on one hand he has every right to be mad. His management hadn’t surround him with great players.

But however he also needs to realize that it’s gonna take time to rebuild a team.
Yes the leafs did it in a blink
Of a eye but they had a great management and ownership group to lead them. The sabres do not have that, the sabres need to fix a lot of stuff behind the scenes before they attempt to fix stuff on the ice.

If Eichel where to request for a trade then it definitely makes him look like a huge whiner.</div></div>

"His management hadn’t surround him with great players." Kane, Okpose, O'Reilly, Reinhart are great players! DATM made terrible trades, missed on great trades, drafted extremely poorly, was arrogant with the media, insulted other General managers, complained about how the draft was handled and totally mishandled the cap. I suspected Eichel was a loser when BC failed to win the NCAA championship. Here he was only months away from being one of the best players playing in the NHL and he could not carry his team to the championship. I hated the ROR trade, if O'Reilly was that good, Colorado would have been in the playoffs while he was there. Watch him play, he never carries the puck into the zone instead he shoots it in, thus giving up possession. I am giving this post 5 stars because I want to trade Jack, Ryan, Robin, and Kyle now and restart the rebuild. The prospect bucket is nearly empty so do not look for any help there. Let's start fresh and maybe in 5 years we will at least be a playoff team.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jakem139</b></div><div>Ok you keep pointing out stuff that happened in the past. I’m currently living in the present and moving towards the future. In 5 years Weber won’t be Weber. Nylander will keep improving and build himself into a amazing talent. So you are telling me that this trade is fair? I’d rather have a player that could possibly become one of my franchises leading scorers and one of my teams best players for years and years to come over a guy who was great 5 years ago but is slowly on the down fall? Look Weber was great and is honestly one of my favourite players but If I’m the leafs I’m laughing and hanging up the call</div></div>

Fair enough.. but you are also making assumptions that Weber is on the downfall (he was having a better year personally despite playing with an injury). The injury really doesn't concern me, lots of players bounce back from injuries. I don't understand how weber's game is supposed to decline, the strengths of his game are great positioning, a great shot, and he's one of the strongest guys in the league. Maybe he slows down a bit, but it won't even hurt his style.

You are also assuming Nylander is this elite talent. He won't be your franchises leading scorer, Matthews and Marner are both better than Nylander. He's a good player, but you can only hope he reaches the level Weber is at now. I don't even think he is a top 30 RW yet.

As I habs fan I definitely wouldn't want to do this trade, I'm just arguing the fact that if you were the leafs GM you're "laughing and hanging up the call". It's ridiculous to claim Nylander is worth more than a top 10 defenseman in the league, (if not hurt he would've been their again this year).

Edit: Besides I had to bring up last season in order to disprove your "well Subban is the better player" claim. Some great evidence you brought forward there to support that by the way. That's the only reason the past had to be brought up.

Just for fun, what do you think Nylander is actually worth? If you were going to trade him whay would you want in return?
