Carolina Hurricanes signed Sebastian Aho (8 Years / $9,750,000 AAV)
Good Contract will be great in 3 years when the cap is up 10 million. It would be slightly high for his production but he has such a great defensive game and really drives the team at times so he has more then just point production to push forward his value. Not an outstanding steal but it could be in the middle 3 years of the contract.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_and_Sens_Fan</b></div><div>Don’t see how Nylander can still say he’s worth over 10M after this signing.</div></div>
It will Be tough he is 2 years older not a center and is not as consistent with his effort. Nylander's only argue points are that he has similar numbers with a touch more in production in the last 2 years and is mainly a second line player. Its tough and I wouldn't agree but he could argue he'd get more points as a 1st line winger instead of a second line winger.

Ottawa Senators signed Joonas Korpisalo (5 Years / $4,000,000 AAV)
Not a good Contract for Term 5 years is to long but not a horrible signing. Korpo has 55 bad games in 3 years during covid when he had hip surgery and lost the starter role to Elvis. So his run of sub .910 was during a pandemic when he had major surgery playing on a **** team picking up mostly 2nd half of back to backs and expected losses. His poorer playoffs this year was on a decent team against McDavid and Drisital who light everyone up.
In a tandem role he should do fine. This is 1 year longer then I would have hoped for maybe 2 but it is exactly what I expected he would make on a free agent Day. its 4 mil so its not hugely impactful and with 4 forwards left to sign hopefully they can land Burttuzi make a collection for Debrincat including a couple solid bottom six and some prospects and see where we stand.

You couldn't pay me to take Pierre Luc, yes he gets his points but he's the exact opposite of a guy i want around pinto brady and tim for the next 5 years. His attitude and entitlement since his rookie contract not taking any leadership on his teams nope no chance.
Alex also 99 times out of 100 won't sign in Winnipeg

Man Gustafsson is such a defensive liability when he plays his offensive game be carful asking your bottom pair guy to be your offensive stalwart

?? Was Rutta that bad he looks like a good d-man with a small contract way better then Gustafsson in a bottom 4 role. Ottawa probably give DeSmith a Shot when it's free. Best bet New York matches and addresses the money later

I Think hes a top 10 protected 2024 1st and a mid to late 2nd with a upgrade to a 2025 1st if you make the Conference finals and he has at least 6 playoff wins

But they can definitely overlook a lot of things Like the fact that he was league average on a terrible phlyers team last year. Like in the last 200 games his top center has played 50 games. Like he had an injury in his .877 year. Heart hasn't had a good team to play for and has been league average 3/4 seasons he's better then you think.

Harmonic is a 1.2-1.5 mill guy expect 1x1.2
Korpisalo probably runs 3-5 depending on how hyped people are from his good showing with LA 3x4
Barbashev is 4-6 depending on how hyped people get from his run with vegas Expect 5x5
Engvall going to run 2.5-4 as he had a good run on the Isles and is a very good PK specialist Expect 3x3.5
And I get the story behind Alex to Detroit and maybe it happens but it will be a more expensive deal then a mid 1st and a second

Yeah I'm Thinking Arizona demands a First for that especially since they don't like money going out to no Roster players they can't get back From IR Insurance

Its a no on the Carolina deal front and center. Ottawa wants a player for now not later so why a prospect who hasn't played an nhl game and 2 low end of the round picks?
I like getting Hart but Laughton isn't a top 6 player and that is a lot of prospects to give to Philly. Don't necessarily disagree on value but that's a lot of prospects now gone.
Don't understand getting Brock when he want Minnesota and it's known as well as paying 4mill for a 3rd liner.
All In in All this clears out most of Ottawa's picks and prospects for a goalie a non 2nd liner and an overpaid 3rd liner. Its a no look at better options for Debrincat and go free agent fishing

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>budgeteam</b></div><div>The Senators got tremendous value by signing him as early as possible.
If they didn't sign him early, he probably only does 3-5 years at this kind of money, and asks 10+ for max term.
Robertson got 4 x 7.7M, but he only accrued 2 full seasons while on his ELC, so he still has 1 RFA year. Dallas also has the tax and contender advantage.</div></div>
Robertson is also 2.5 years older and not a center position and age also make a difference in pay

Hes getting 5-6.5 from someone this offseason he had 8-10 points in the playoffs and a 50+ point pace during the season in addition to being a general nescience to play against As an Ottawa fan if we trade out Debrincat he'd be my #1 option as the 2nd line LW at 5-6 million

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PuckLuck_77</b></div><div>Regardless of the value, the point of moving Walker would be to clear cap space by replacing him with ELC players (Clarke or Spence). This is a lateral move at best in terms of cap. I can't see LA doing it. Especially if they can get Korpisalo to a contract similar to Forsberg's.</div></div>
Korpisalo is signing for around 4x4 to 5x5 this summer people will be taking chances on him with how good he was and how lean the market is and the expected salary cap jump this season

I don't think Columbus will move a C for another Wing in DeBrincat, and I don't think Ottawa wants another C in Jenner.
Rangers can keep Lafreniere, He's not the player for Ottawa. He has to play with high end talent to excel, and there is no room for him in Ottawa that would allow him to have success.</div></div>
If Lafreniere plays with Pinto i Think the Two could set up for a pair of 25 Goal 3rd liners and he would fill the last PP 2 spot perfectly. he would also be first up in a injury situation and potentially take over Girouxs spot in 2-3 years if NY Lets him go for that package you take it and run its absolute gold. I wouldn't do the Columbus trade I Don't Like Jenners defense game and we need a tender if we trade debrincate

Don't agree with a lot of this Branstom is a +5 Durzi Is a -12 Branstrom Played PK Durzi Played PP. They had opposite roles on their teams and when branstom was elevated for 14-18 games to top 4 he added 8 points to his totals. In Fact if you take away time on the Power play their is 5 point difference in their season. You might want a bigger body but I'd Say that Branstrom is the better player in a Defensive role.

4. Buffalo accepts.</div></div>
1. If its basically league min plus or minus 200K it doesn't really matter
2. Pinto might do closer to 2.5 if its 1-2 years
3. Connor Brown wanted to test free agency for bigger money Playing with pinto might up his points I could see him in Ottawa on a 1 year deal
4. Good Joseph isn't working in Ottawa in the bottom 6 take a bag of pucks to clear that cap space
