Everyone is looking for top4 D. Id think I'd go Palmieri over Garland the only plus for Garland is that his AAV is under a million. So if the Bruins land that Dman, they may be able to add a little more scoring with Garland if Coyotes get desperate for picks.

Garland
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Garland could also get injured, you can't predict that but that's not the issue. They'll probably have to overpay for a guy who is only in his second full NHL season and is a fringe 2nd liner. He could struggle just like the other forwards currently in the Bruins' middle-six. Then, you've given up valuable assets and you can't use them for an actual game breaker. Risk is part of the business but if you can get a better player, target that guy over Garland.</div></div>
Yea any player could come to Boston get hurt and/or struggle thats the chance you take in any trade. With the assets the Bruins have and are willing to part with (Obviously the big guns arent moving) who would you go after? Just wondering

Garland
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bhavikp27</b></div><div>Confirms you haven't watched him. He's played well in those games and has done literally everything but score. He is adjusting to a new team with new linemates and new system. Pause, ends of playoffs and injury, three things he can't control stopped his seasons, it's hard to get going when you can only play 5-10 games in a row. If you can improve the team, you always do it but personally, I'm keeping Kase.</div></div>
Thats totally fair but its hard to watch someone that cant stay in the lineup. I just think if the Bruins are trying to had scoring and they can target someone like Garland who is cheaper this year and doesnt have the health issues Kase does. Maybe the trade above is an over payment or whatever but it really doesn't matter if Kase isnt on the ice. Believe or not I liked when they picked up Kase last season I thought he would be good but the only thing was his health. I think that if he stays healthy he would do well. But over the course of his career hes never played a full season. Hes never played more than 70 games in a year and the last 2 his games played have been going down. The Bruins only have so many more kicks at with Bergeron, Krecji and Marchand who are all in their 30s.

Kase has been a total waste in Boston. Not a bruins fan but I would try to upgrade on Kase. He's played 19 total games with 0 goals and 5 points. He is an RFA after the season, do you want the Bruins to resign him or try and recoup some assets for him?

Elliotte Friedman said on 31 Thoughts that for Garland the Coyotes arent as interested in late round draft picks. So for Boston to get him they would probably have to give up something similar to this. Plus this gets Kase out of Boston.

Chicago passes. I wouldnt do this one for one for Gardiner his best years were in Toronto. Murphy is better in the D zone and is 3 years younger. Gardiner isnt worth Murphy one for one, let alone for everything in that trade.

Give me Kubalik over Olofsson any day. Olofsson is a PP specialist. He has 7 goals and 6 are on the PP. Where Kubalik is 8 goals and 3 on PP. Not to mention Kubalik was just a Calder finalist last season. Give me the better 5 on 5 player.

If Chicago took Byram and Avs selected Dach
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Richard88</b></div><div>Stan Bowman said in an interview that he had his eyes on Zadorov for a couple of years, so he was clearly a guy he was targetting. Chicago also needed cap relief and as a pending UFA Saad made sense.</div></div>
Yea, I am just saying if the Blackhawks dont have Dach and instead you have Boqvist, Mitchell, Byram, Beaudin, Walyuk and more I think you revaluate where depth of your organization is. I just think the importance of getting Zadorov is much different if you have Byram in the pipeline.

I agree they would still be in rebuild mode. I didnt like the trade for Zadorov anyway and if they add Byram I think the block some of the young D with Zadorov.

Vegas Cap Fix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tvh_0703</b></div><div>I'm not sure what it would all take, but to get Strome and cap dump Fleury would be worth more futures for sure. If Chicago asks for Glass, Vegas might push someone like Peyton Krebs and a pick instead since Glass is a capable 3C. If Chicago decides that they want to keep Toews and Kane happy, they may try to get an actual starting goalie. If they ask for too much for Strome, then Vegas could package Fleury and a 1st for a throw in, and then sign someone like Haula as a cheaper option.</div></div>
I think they would be interested in Krebs. Chicago talked about a rebuild this offseason, if they really wanted a starter the would have just kept Crawford who signed for only 3.9 mil and didnt want to give him the extra year. So I dont know why they would want a worse goalie in MAF at 7 Mil. So I dont know why they would do that just for a starter. Now I can see them making a deal for MAF because Vegas is cap strapped and could pry someone like Krebs, Glass or an extra 1st out of there. But if you want Chicago to talk MAF and give up on Strome I think it would be higher in my opinion. I mean look what they took from the Canucks for Schmidt, Vegas only got a 3rd for him and hes a top 4 d man, not a goalie making 7 mil who is on the back half of his career.

trying out trades
I dont get the Hawks trade. Ive seen it a bunch on here and it makes no sense. Why would the Hawks give up Boqvist who they are high on and a first in a deep draft for Andersen. When they could potentially sign Crawford for less. Plus the goalie market this year is crazy. Markstrom, Crawford, Holtby to name a few are all UFA and could get them without giving up what this trade proposes.

So to be honest, I think a poor team would take this trade a lot more eagerly. I was trying to think of someone like Florida or Arizona. Reason being is they're poor and most of his salary has been paid for the remainder of the contract. I only picked Chicago because his brother is there. But after discussions in this thread, I honestly believe he'd reach his potential under some hard ass like Trotz or Torts. Nylander is a sick player, but dear god can he be a lazy sh**.</div></div>
Chicago would be smart to get rid of his brother. He's done absolutely nothing.

I dont know if thats underpriced for Nylander. 2 firsts is a lot for any team to give up. Nylander is a good winger but I cant think of a player the has been traded for 2 first round picks.

The hawks are trying to reload and are looking more on the blueline. 2 firsts is steep for Nylander in my opinion. Id say a 1st, a good prospect and a roster player maybe.
