Some whacked Minny fan posted on X why they need to trade him and a bunch of cothers ommented and agreed. It would be like those whacked Habs fans that keep trying to trade Caufield.

As a Pens fan I would definitely accept that trade. But I think you overpaid for just a 1st even if it is 9th overall.

Whats his price
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goalie</b></div><div>Yea we’d totally sell arguably our second best forward this season for a bunch of futures with the main piece being protected!!!</div></div>
You could easily use those assets in the offseason to get a player better then Lafreniere, also I don't believe you are being reasonable if you genuinely believe he is close to 2nd best forward, it's not arguable at all, Panarin, Kreider, Trocheck and Zibanejad have all been head and shoulders above, both offensively and defensively (except Trocheck on defence, his xGA is abysmal, and yet he still has better overall defence stats slightly), advanced stats and the eye test agree, hell even Chytil has better average underlying numbers then Lafreniere (obviously small sample size but it shows my point). He is doing much better for sure, but it still isn't exceptional.
Also of course it is protected, 2025 is an insanely top heavy draft, all of those top 5 players alone hold more value then Lafrienere.
Edit: Coming back to this later, this is insanely lopsided for the Rangers, this package is sizably bigger then the package for Debrincat (the first time), who was coming off a 40 goal season and nearly ppg, but instead it is for a cap dump and 50 point pace player.

He also has 11 goals already compared to Liljegren's 13, in half the games.
He's younger, which leaves him more room for development.
The only thing Liljegren really has on Barron is experience.</div></div>
if you say points are what matter for dmen, you are missing something big.

Philly passes, no need for Barron. We already have too many 3rd pair with 2nd pair upside guys. We need centers.

Habs - Devils
That's one I'd consider if Jiricek actually demanded a trade (which is unlikely, obvious solution is to let him play like 10 more AHL games and get 25 minutes a night, then call him up and never scratch him again). If we're trading a 1RD of the future, we need a 1RD of the future back, which Reinbacher should be.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MNCountryClub</b></div><div>Nice job with the Kaprizov deal.
Guerin/Leipold won't ever move him, but it's a very strong offer and hits on MNs needs. Faber and Reinbacher would be a sweet duo on the right side.</div></div>
I'd probably think long and hard if that offer was pitched before Kaprizov's NMC kicks in July 1st. His contract structure makes me incredibly nervous, especially with the team not really in a position to compete unless some prospects take massive leaps forward next year (Rossi, Faber, Wallstedt, at least 1 left D and a winger) which is too many things that need to go right. If Kaprizov doesn't want to resign, he walks for nothing and with him having a NMC, there's no reason that can't happen if he wants it to. It's certainly going to limit the return if he is willing to waive for select locations, so the above may just be the best offer you get and it would definitely help the team in the long run. Tough choice.

Broberg Trade Options
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JeffGorton</b></div><div>holy ****, you actually have no concept of asset management, Another trade where youd rather keep a role player than get someone with potential upside. Evans is a 4C on any other team in the league. Only on the Habs he gets top 6 minutes. And the only thing the Habs pipeline is full of is **** bottom 6 forwards. Broberg actually have top 4 upside and allows the Habs to use a Xhekaj or Harris in a trade to move up in the trade or acquire elite talent</div></div>
THANK YOU!!!! I'm assuming he makes comments like this on other posts too. Sounds like a casual fan, doesn't know a whole lot..
