Either that or we replace Jeannot with Trenin or something like that

Absolutely a good signing. No risk and cost-controlled. Now let’s hope he brings his AHL stats to the NHL.

Didn’t think about that. It could work in principle, but Market is a pretty big cap hit for Nashville to take on. Maybe a 3 team with Arizona retaining?

Swiping Marner
Don’t matter if the leafs like it or not, Preds reject immediately. That’s way too much of our future sold to get a player who doesn’t really move the needle to “cup contender” for us.

I don’t think either team likes that. Preds have to lose some really good young players and have their cap absolutely ruined while the Maple Leafs, who would be serious contenders if they weren’t cursed, receive no NHL players except Kunin, who wasn’t good at all last year, in return.

Win for VGK. I liked Dadonov, but that cap hit was too rich for our blood. I figured we’d have to move something/someone with him, so this comes as a pleasant surprise.

An idea that is probably pie in the sky
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>... but man, wouldn't it be cool to be able to see all AGMs that list a particular player in signings, trades or buyouts? You'd be able to see how posters are valuing and discussing that specific player. Maybe a button on the player page or something.
I dunno, just a thought.</div></div>
I don’t know how CF would implement that, but it’s an interesting idea, especially for new posters who haven’t had anything shredded by other users yet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingExLeafs</b></div><div>That's the conundrum that Florida put themselves in. I don't see teams acquiring an 8 million goalie. My point is that it doesn’t have to be retained by Florida. Maybe Arizona or Buffalo, but not Florida.

That Barrie trade might work with another team, but Dallas doesn’t need any more high-paid offensive older defensemen.

Yeah, but $5 million retained? For any contender, that’s insane. That’s enough to get Ondrej Palat, Reilly Smith, or to pay Malkin. Besides, to lose Duclair on that contract? At that point, they just buy him out and take the consequences.

That’s what I’m hoping. I didn’t hate his game this year, and I think that Poile should be reluctant to move on so soon. That said, I feel like Lauzon might’ve been brought in as a ‘replacement’ for Phil.

That’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. Patrik Stefan, you should be ashamed of yourself. That does NOT belong in CapFriendly.
A slight adaptation, but it completely applies to this scenario. IN NO UNIVERSE do the Preds consider that (unless Poile is drunker than Morgan Wallen). That’s three integral pieces of our core (all under 25) for an old defenseman the Preds don’t even need.
