Whats the difference between early Nichushkin and Kakko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NYR1983</b></div><div>Kakko also has 3 more years to get to the point when Nichushkin signed with COL. Hence the reason drury is being patient.</div></div>
Yeah he's younger, I think his point was nishushkin was considered a bust like some people are saying about kakko. Now nichushkin is a top line, conne Smyth vote getting 2 way player and what kakko should do to get better

It’s just funny how people on this site call Kakko a bust just because he’s not a point per game or the next Mcdavid</div></div>
Guys that get picked that high usually have an expectation of high production, it's not like he's alex turcotte or anything..
I always liked kakko, reminded me a bit of landeskog, so maybe if they can find a role for him like his he could be as successful

Whats the difference between early Nichushkin and Kakko
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rags21</b></div><div>It’s always been good since he was a teen coming into the league. It’s obviously better than his offense. Maybe above average but not elite, just yet?</div></div>
Well nuke had to redefine his game after his time in Dallas, the reason he's so effective is because of his speed, added with a motor that doesn't stop, being the first guy to the puck and winning puck battles.. his shot isn't very good and his deke move is always the same lol. So paired with other skilled players he's the "hyman" of the line, he's getting better at deflections and is picking up a bunch of assists from mack and rants.. while slamming in pucks from the front of the net
Mostly he's just an effective big bodied puck carrier that doesn't quit on anything

I don't know why drouin would lock in for such a low salary... maybe on a 1 to 2 year deal..
Plenty of better options out there than weinstein, and I agree that cogliano has probably played his last season in Denver, he's looked pretty bad since the deadline

Ya, you do.. 9/10 times you do.
Not only for values sake, but have you been watching this season, Manson is way better than Girard even at 32, plus he does all the things Girard cant

Yeah because Arizona is so good with durzi and nobody else on their back end they wouldnt have any use..
Unfortunately manson doesnt waive his NMC for a college team, and I would assume Girard uses one of his 9 no trade teams on the yotes

Girard maybe or Manson but both would decimate a Stanley cup defense for the cost of keeping walker

He might get another year but I don't think he's someone they see as anything more than an injury fill-in.</div></div>
Your comparing apples to oranges. Wagner is a veteran fringe centre who if they lost him on waivers is not a big deal.
Tufte is a pre prime, controllable RFA winger on a team with no room for his skillset this season having a logjam at wing, not the kind of player you would gamble putting through waivers.. scored at a .40ppg rate in his limited showing in the nhl and a .71ppg rate in the ahl.
Bednar tried him and kirivanta at centre this preseason and if he could have been successful he would have made the team out of camp as their 4c.
Next year if Landy is back and drouin prices himself out of Colorado they'll have need of his skillet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NMAvsFan</b></div><div>I guess for organizational depth it's fine but there are LOTS of AHL heroes that can't translate their game to the NHL. It's not like Kiviranta has been killing it so, if they like Tufte, why not just waive Kivi and bring Tufte up? Just seems like they need him to fill out the AHL roster and don't see him as a serious option to take a roster spot.</div></div>
My answer would be its because they needed a guy to PK and play 7 minutes a night, tufte needed to play more as the organization views him as a middle 6 guy in the future, when we played his 5 games for the avs he played middle 6

The fact they've given him only five games even with injuries and ineffectiveness of guys like Kivi and Olofsson (and Wagner) doesn't look good for him to be re-signed.</div></div>
Guy looked great in the nhl but sent down to work on his defensive Game. Leading the ahl team in scoring. Plus 15, all star.. I'm assuming avs GM didn't bring him up in case he had to go back down and clear waivers.
He's 6"6 can fight hit and score 100mph slapper. Not to mention he's an RFA and it would be poor asset management in a depleted colorado system to let him walk

March just won the conn Smythe, I'm sure a 4 year deal.could be had around 7 mill if not more,
Weekes has already reported the 8x7 deal from Vegas is close, what do you think he goes for on the open market..

Marchessault specifically is going to make much more, at least what nichushkin makes plus the cap raise.
There are rumours that hanafin is already looking at a 8x7.5 deal
