Zero chance the Canucks are giving up a 1st round pick. The value is much closer to 1:1.

Would GMJR do business in a Marino for JT package
I get your logic—but I think Vancouver will receive more competitive offers than that. If their ask is indeed for a contributing young roster player, a top prospect, and a top pick—I think this offer is only 1/3 (Marino). Poulin was getting scratched in the AHL last year and still hasn't seen NHL games despite being drafted in 2019—he doesn't move the needle as far as "top prospect" goes. And I suspect the Canucks think there is a team in the top-10 of this draft or the next draft that they can make a deal with.

Tyler Myers Trade
In a world where Erik Gudbranson gets chance after chance—you have to believe that there are still GMs who want to trade for big, tall RD like Tyler Myers.
Here are four teams that could trade for Tyler Myers. They both have the cap-space to fit a player like Myers, and they have have holes on their RD that could still be upgraded. They may have missed on filling their roster on the primary market and may need to look at a player with warts (like Myers) on the secondary market to fill out their roster.
Not saying that any team is going to trade a lot of value for Myers. They may even ask for a sweetener, salary retention, or for Vancouver to take back a bad contract too. The Canucks motivation is to clear as much of this contract as possible so they can sign both Hughes and Pettersson to long-term extensions this off-season rather than bridge them.

Artem Zub what would it cost
Artem Zub had a good season for Ottawa and I don't think he'll be their secret for long. But, I've also read some speculation about his future given the two-year contract that he signed that brings him directly to UFA.
Would Ottawa be open to moving him at all? If so—would they look for futures? or are they at a spot in their rebuild where they are now looking at roster players?

Let me further clarify—the Canucks need shutdown RD. Their current top-six has five offensive d-men:
Hughes-Schmidt
OEL-Myers
Rathbone-???

If Seattle takes Vanecek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PeterForsberg21</b></div><div>VAN is not retaining that much salary.</div></div>
I think the more likely scenario is that Seattle selects Holtby as along as Vancouver retains some salary (let's say $1,000,000) and then trades him again to a third team for an asset like the deal described here.

Buchnevich - yes please

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>theleano1</b></div><div>Van were the one to shoot that down for obvious reasons</div></div>
I wouldn't be so sure about the Canucks declining a 1:1 Horvat/Buchnevich swap... Buch is a premier player according to the fancy stats, but Horvat's value is increased because of how scarce top six centers are to trade for. It only makes sense for Vancouver if they believe that Miller can slide back from first line winger to second line center. The step back from Horvat to Miller is a lot smaller than the step forward of adding Buchnevic to the top-six.

Says the person who clearly has not stayed informed about the Canucks, and is instead telling Canucks fans information that has already been debunked. Got it.

Internal Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SakuThornton</b></div><div>I would suggest you do a bit more research on the topic here, you seem to be quite misinformed.</div></div>
The "rumor" from Nick Kypreos last week was already debunked by the local media in Vancouver. The folks that are actually connected to the inner-workings of the Canucks have all strongly suggested that the Canucks have zero interest in OEL this time around.
And, I would suggest you give the Canucks fans (or any fan that gives you feedback about the trades you proposed with their team) a bit more respect for taking the time to respond and give you their feedback. We all ought to know that everyone who submits one of these mock GMs is usually taking a huge shot in the dark. The posters who respond back are usually fans of the teams involved in trades and signings. These fans clearly have the time to listen to talk radio, go on twitter, reddit, internet forums like this. They are informed and probably have a much better pulse on what is being said about their team than anyone from outside the market.
Good luck moving that $50mm contract, though.

I think that might be too much for Tampa to give up but they are in such a tough position cap wise so that might realistically be what it costs to move off Johnsons contract completely and take back Ferlands LTI. Personally i wouldn't want to bring back Hamonic especially at that contract. I would much prefer someone like Kevan Miller or Tucker Poolman who have decent underlying defensive results for cheaper but I think this could be a really nice aggressive offseason so we know that means Benning wont do it lol</div></div>
I will do it. You will see.

I think it will be really interesting to see what Tampa does. I don't think Seattle or any team is going to throw them a life preserver with their cap. They will all be throwing anchors instead.
The reality is that whether it is Tampa, or any other team, that unloading a 3y x $5m contract is going to be expensive to do in the flat cap world. It all comes down to which team is willing to inflict the least amount of pain on Tampa.

That's true and definitely an easy switch to make.
Even if the Canucks were to expose OEL or Myers—it's a virtual certainty that Seattle wouldn't take either due to their contract. And if Seattle did—Vancouver would clear so much cap-space that it would be like winning the lottery.

That's probably an easy piece to add in. Juolevi just falls too far down the depth chart if the Canucks were to acquire OEL. Rathbone has surpassed him on the depth chart too.
