When and if any of his first round picks fail to meet expectations. Only two of his picks that have made the team are Seider and Raymond.

Trenin’s not a goon. He’s a good forechecker and a better net front presence than anyone on the Wings right now. Having that guy doesn’t help them because he’s a goon, it helps because he can be counted on to win puck battles and play physically, which takes some of that burden off Larkin and Raymond.

Maybe a good option
I have no problem with Detroit taking Trouba, this team desperately needs a guy who plays on the edge. No way in hell I’m selling on Debrincat though.

I think Yzerman will gently suggest he felt like retiring and Petry won’t be an issue next year.

I don’t need a ton of skill there, I need a piano puller for Larkin and Raymond. They get killed way too often and the only person in the org with the guts to do anything about it is 20 yo Marco Kasper. Don’t want him jumping into things like that too often as a rookie.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>They still wouldn't do it. Eller turns 35 before the start of the offseason not worth the 35+ contract. Out of the 3 defensemen Detroit would be looking to move Maatta is the easiest move and he might be the best as well. They'd have to take Holl or Chariot. Now for a team that will soon be up against the cap a 31yr old winger with a $5.125M cap hit and 4 more seasons left on his contract it really makes no sense for them. Switch Berggren with Fabbri and add Holl then it would make sense for Detroit.</div></div>
I hear you brother, but Eller isn’t a 35+ contract. He’s a salary dump that’d be useful for us in a 4C spot. I would certainly prefer to move Holl+Fabbri in a Rust trade.

Disgusting effort Sell
We lost a tight game against a NYI team with their season on the line, and dropped two against maybe the two best teams in the league. Not the end of the world. 5 of the next 7 are against Arizona, Buffalo and Pitt. If we lose more than one of those, even without 71, we'll actually have something to worry about.
PS: ****ting on Seider when he’s being asked to play in a way no defensemen in a decade has is truly ****.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lightman13</b></div><div>A deal like this Middleton and foligno would need a bit more from the red wings to Minnesota. Don’t get me wrong the wild can use the cap space and have defenders coming up to make up for Middleton but those 2 are a combo of size and go power every team needs, so there would need to be a bit more added.</div></div>
I’d be pretty comfortable adding a pick or a defense prospect to something like this. The Wings desperately need the things you mentioned there, and these guys fit the timeline where our prospects who’d add the same quality (Kasper, Mazur, etc) will be on the team.

Habs need to be looking at Detroit and feeling excited
There are definitely some similarities in player types through the rebuild here. I really like some of the Habs defense picks, although I don’t see the plethora of redwoods Yzerman’s stockpiled in Seider, Edvinsson, and Wallinder. I’m not sure Reinbacher’s quite as high a ceiling as Seider, but if you guys end up rosy in the lottery and end up with Parekh that problem solved itself.
It’s gonna be fun for the next few years, hoping we have some great battles soon.

Keller to Detroit is absolutely top priority for me, but I don’t think I pull that trigger unless #9 is completely shot from the high value forwards we’re looking for. I’d sooner give a guy like Wallinder.

I like what you did, probably a bit too much for Keller. I keep thinking about the prices people were saying Chychrun would go for, and Ottawa got him for what? 60¢ on the dollar?
Think Keller would end up going for two firsts and a defense prospect.
I like everything else though. Really think the Wings’ll prioritize getting tougher. We all watched Brady Tkachuck bend this team over, we’re all watching his brother dominate the playoffs from our own division. You can’t replicate those guys, but you can sharpen a physical edge. Seider already brings it, let’s add a few more of those to the mix to take pressure off Mo.

Detroit should 100% do that Hall deal. I'd be happy to add the rights to Mastrosimone, he played at BU I believe and would be a sneaky good prospect add for the Bs.

Would offer a 3rd and the rights to Robert Mastrosimone - he’s not signing here, but I have a feeling he’d be a nice fit in Minny.
