St Loo fans what ya think
No need to waste assets to dump Dvo. He’s been good since his return. If he’s good enough next year, he will have a positive value at the TDL. If he can’t bounce back, he’ll just leave as a UFA.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Hilarious that Habs fans, who insist that they wouldn't give up pick 5 - 7 for Trevor Zegras (who had recorded over 100 points by his 130th game), would give up that pick PLUS the Winnipeg first for Jake Neighbours, who has 50 points at that same milestone.
Montreal's pick can only be 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9.</div></div>
This gentleman opinion is not representing the fanbase.
That would be horrible for MTL

Looking at pick value, the trade is fair. Not sure DET is the good partner however.
Washington would be a better fit if they miss the playoffs.

Stamkos will be 37-38 when MTL will be a real cup contender. No need for him.
Don’t forget to keep money for Slaf and Guhle next offseason.

Prefer not having a trouble maker with Michkov.
Personally not a fan of the prospect when he fought his current or past teamate twice (Miroshnichenko and Remezovsky).
Could see MTL picking Helenius very early also!

Realistic idea 24-25
Stamkos is going to be 37-38 when MTL will really compete for the cup. He is not signing in MTL.
Hughes won’t sell low on Anderson and Dvorak. He’ll wait until they have a good year or until the end of their contracts.
Not good trades for the other teams, not realistic.

Keller Trade:
Keller <<< Potentially trading 2 top 10 picks, a 2nd, a 3rd and a B prospect
Dubois trade:
LAK and MTL have no interest in this trade
Dumping Dvorak:
Just a waste of asset. He could bring something at next TDL.

Such a good idea to get 3 big contracts when your team is not a contender and when you need to sign Slaf, Dach and Guhle in a near future.
Just be patient guys…
Don’t trade asset to dump players with 1 year left. Don’t retain on a player with 4 years left on his contract.

Two expensive +30 yo when you have Guhle, Slafkovsky, Dach to sign soon. That’s the opposite of what MTL needs to do.

2024 tiers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kyle_Okposo_Lover</b></div><div>I dont get the Helenius hate. He should be tier 2 no doubt.
Celebrini is also doing insanely well as a very young DY and he did very well at the WJC, he's gonna thrive. He is easily at the Hughes/Laf level as a prospect IMO, and right with Fantilli/Carlsson as prospects.
BU is a great school and you compare him to others who have played for them and he is producing at a similar clip, near Keller and just shy of Eichel. He isn't generational but he will be a star, not just average IMO.</div></div>
I’ve got Helenius 2nd at the moment. He was the most used forward today for Jukurit. Competitive, bright and well-rounded.
Few great OHL prospects are missing in this list: Marek Vanacker, Luca Marrelli, Kevin He.

loading up on the 2024 draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColonelX</b></div><div>Fair but the condition is that Florida <strong>wins</strong> the lottery, we're talking about a small percentage of a small percentage.</div></div>
The pick is lottery protected. This generally means that if the pick is top 16, the pick is protected. Basically, if the panthers miss the playoffs they’ll transfer their 2026 pick. They don’t have to win the lottery, just participate in the lottery.

loading up on the 2024 draft
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColonelX</b></div><div>Too many conditions making it a far greater pick?
To clear it up, the whole condition tree is because Florida's pick lottery protected so as we all know this likely ain't happening cause they're good. <strong>Now removing this "If Calgary doesn't receive Florida's pick" shenaneegans,</strong> the pick we receive is confirmed in 2025 and it'll be Florida's pick except if Calgary's pick isn't top 10, then it's the better of the two. (That's how I see it)
I wouldn't trade what's likely going to be a pick between 11-20 (Calgary's likely a bubble team next year) for a 28-32 pick and the 41th selection, not enough value there. I'd need their 1st this year and Florida's 1st next year.</div></div>
Wouldn’t remove it too quickly. FLA will have a tough offseason with all their UFA’s. Everybody tought that FLA 1st pick in 2023 would be low when Kent made the Chariot trade. At the end of last year season, everybody was closely watching if FLA would miss the playoffs. Next year is a new season and a lot of things can happen.

That’s false and more complicated than that. Check my last post.

That’s not a good idea imo
CGY’s pick is getting more and more valuable.
This pick depends a lot on both Panthers and Calgary next year. Panthers will be in a tough situation this offseason with all their UFAs.
Panthers : Playoffs // Flames : Not Top 10 pick -> Better pick between FLA and CGY (>= 1st VAN 2024)
Panthers: Playoffs // Flames: Top 10 pick -> FLA pick (= 1st VAN 2024)
Panthers: No playoffs // Flames: Not top 10 pick -> 1st CGY + mid round pick (>= 1st VAN 2024)
Panthers: No playoffs // Flames: 2-10 overall -> 1st CGY (>>> 1st VAN 2024)
Panthers: No playoffs // Flames: 1st overall -> 1st CGY 2026 UNPROTECTED + mid round pick ( >> 1st VAN)
Considering that 2025 seems to be a better draft and considering that there is potentially a top 10 pick behind the conditions, I would keep this pick till next TDL.

Great leader, perfect term (only Matheson has a contract finishing in 2025-2026, could retain on Laughton and Matheson for good return), center depth, makes Evans expandable next year or in the offseason.
